Hi all, back with another story. This first chapter could have gone in exhibitionist and voyeur, but I have chosen romance as that is where the heart of this story lies and where the story is heading.
Yes, this story will be released in parts, but like my other story, it will be finished and submitted in weeks rather than months.
Also, FYI there is no cuckolding or anything of the sort in the story (for those who worry about such things). This is another happy, easy romance that hopefully will leave people with a smile by the time it's finished! Enjoy! :)
Chapter 1
I looked out the window of my tiny, one-bed apartment into the night's darkness. Rain cascaded down it in smooth sheets, shimmering from the pale blue light of my computer screen. "Does it ever stop raining?" I muttered to myself.
I quickly checked the time and walked to my bathroom. The steady drip of my leaky tap was the background beat to my life at home. When the dripping first started, I hated it. I complained to my uncaring landlord for a straight week before he told me to 'shut the fuck up and get over it'. Now, three months later, I barely noticed it.
I squirted some toothpaste onto my frayed brush and began scrubbing my teeth. I looked at myself in my grimy mirror. The person staring back wouldn't be what anyone would describe as 'ugly', just... uncared for. Six feet tall, thick messy brown hair, and green eyes that stood out against my pale skin. Some might even find the features attractive, if they could see past the look of a man with no confidence and consumed by loneliness.
I spat the frothy toothpaste into the sink and rinsed my mouth out, hurrying back into my small living room/kitchen area. It wasn't much. A small, two-seater sofa and TV took up most of the room. The kitchen comprised of a small cooker, microwave, sink, and fridge freezer, all crammed along one wall with a small countertop and single cupboard beside it. I didn't have space for a table or chairs, so I ate most of my meals on the sofa. The last and most important thing in the room was my computer. It wasn't anything special - I'd bought it second-hand, but it was the only joy in my shitty life. I'd saved up for months to buy it, it connected me to the world from the safety of my room, allowed me to live through the videos and photos on it, and even interact with other people.
I turned my attention back to the pale light of my screen. The tiny clock in the corner told me it was nine fifty-nine. Almost time. I'd been waiting for this moment since exactly one A.M this morning, the only good part of my day.
I scrunched my fist into a tight ball and pushed it into my thigh. I was pathetic. The only good part of my day was three hours between ten in the evening and one in the morning.
I tuned out the sudden howling wind that caught the rain and threw it against my window in lashes. I focussed on a black window in the middle of my screen that currently said
Offline
.
The clock in the corner changed to ten o'clock. My heart skipped a beat as the
Offline
changed to
Connecting...
Then a crystal clear image sprung into life, momentarily dazzling me.
A floating logo in the top right-hand corner of the box said:
Raven's Room.
I paid it no attention. I knew whose room it was. My attention was on the petite figure in the middle of the window, staring at the camera with those gorgeous ocean-blue eyes. Long midnight hair flowed over her shoulders like liquid night, and her smooth, pale skin was made all the more pale by the light of the screen.
She flashed a pearly-white smile. "Good evening, Mr-E." She stuck her tongue out playfully and relaxed back in her gaming chair. She was wearing a loose top that hid what I knew to be disproportionately large breasts for such a slim frame. Her bottom half was out of the picture but I imagined she was wearing a pair of tiny shorts that she sometimes pranced around in. "Right on time, as always!"
I typed my reply in the chat box.
Good evening! Of course, nothing better than our talks each day.
Raven sighed wistfully. She looked... slightly sad? "No, there isn't," she said. Then she shook her head and perked up. "So, tell me about your day!"
It was boring! I went to work and then straight back home, the weather here is miserable! What about you?
Raven rolled her eyes. "I'm sure it wasn't as boring as mine, the weather here is miserable too! I wanted to go to the library today but the wind and rain kept me indoors." She flashed me one of her quirky smiles, making her cute dimples stand out. "So, no lucky ladies tonight?"
My heart gave a painful beat and I was as miserable as the weather as I typed my reply.
No, no lucky ladies... unlucky me :(
"Well, it's lucky for me! I get to chat with my favourite person! Say, can I tempt you tonight?" She lifted her top slowly, making eye contact with the camera the entire time.
My cock hardened as the bottom of her generous breasts came into the frame. It was a game we'd played since her first-ever cam session six months ago. She'd tease me, trying to get me to ask to see her naked. I pushed temptation aside as I typed,
Nope, not tonight. I'm happy talking if you are.
She pouted at the screen but there was a hint of... something behind it. Was it frustration? Respect? Anger? Happiness? I couldn't tell. My experience with the opposite sex was limited, which is to say, non-existent. "One of these days I'll get you to break, Mr-E!"
Then, we chatted back and forth. There was an unspoken rule between us that we'd never delve into our personal lives. It was a strange friendship. She'd never seen me before but we'd spoken every night for three hours for six months.
I'd stumbled across her by accident. I was feeling low one evening and wanted something to distract me. I hadn't cum in a while so I flicked on my computer and went searching. Porn wasn't enough - it was all so standardised and fake that I couldn't get aroused by it. Then, I noticed an ad for a webcam site. Interested, I clicked on it and found myself in a world of thousands of online models stripping and masturbating on camera for tips, tokens, and money.
I refused to pay anything but clicked through a few of the newer cams. That's when I came across her... Raven.
I could tell she was nervous and she looked sad, maybe resigned. Suddenly I wasn't turned on at all. I felt pity and sadness for the beautiful woman staring through the camera at me. So, I messaged her in the chat box. I was the first ever person she'd spoken to on the site.
The conversation was awkward at first and she looked on the verge of tears. So, I reassured her. I told her I'd had a horrible day and wanted to talk to a friend. That had perked her up. She told me she'd also had a horrible day and could use a friend.
We spoke for three hours. By the end of it, I even got a smile out of her. She told me she'd be on at the same time the following day.
The next day, I created a profile and logged in. I could follow her profile so it was easy to see when she was online. She logged online and I introduced myself as the person from the day before. Another three hours later and our strange friendship had begun.
Over half a year, I learned that Raven was a small bundle of excitable energy once you got to know her. I got to know her likes and dislikes. She didn't like rain, but she liked the smell of the grass after. Chocolate was her favourite thing in the world, but never,
ever
with nuts in it. She liked sad books with happy endings or scary movies that made her hide beneath her covers for safety. If she could go anywhere in the world, it would be Italy. I discovered all these things and much more about her and found that many of her likes matched mine.
As nice as it was to learn about each other, what made our friendship better was when either of us had a rough day. We'd vent to each other - not specifics, but feelings. We listened patiently and then reassured each other and we'd talk and talk and talk until we were smiling.
Her personality coupled with her beauty was intoxicating. She was my best and only friend.
