Little did I know as I walked along the winding path through the woodlands that an unexpected encounter with a stranger would change my life in a good way. It was 9 o'clock on a Saturday. Some autumn leaves had fallen leaving the trees partially bare and the landscape cluttered. The temperature was probably in the fifties. Dog walkers were on the asphalt, their pets leading the way.

My name is Stephanie. At age 38, I am recently divorced. Despite having lasted 10 years, my marriage just didn't feel right. That's not a reflection on my husband. We just drifted apart and became more like roommates than a married couple.

Coming toward me was a youthful blond. Wavy hair cascaded to her chests. Her full lips were painted Coral pink. As she closed the distance to me I noticed that she was not wearing a bra inside the pink 50/50 blend fleece crewneck sweater. It took several seconds but I finally realized that her eyes are green.

We both stopped in our tracks within arms reach.

"Good day for a walk," I said.

"It is," she replied.

Why aren't you wearing a bra?

"That's a pretty sweater."

"Thanks," she replied. "It's just plain, not so nice as what you're wearing."

I was wearing a Scarlet Tommy Hilfiger cable-knit top.

Conversation came easily. She didn't seem to mind that my gaze fell well below her eyes. This kind of attraction should not be happening.

Neither of us could break away. We chatted about a variety of topics: incidents in our lives past and present, favorite tv shows and actors in them, people we know or knew, future plans and her military service. An hour passed quickly. By then I felt as though I had known 24 year old Cassie Longstreet for years.

Just before we parted she invited me to have coffee with her "at 9 o'clock. I know of a nice little independent cafe called Anne's."

"Sure," I replied without thinking.

"Great, I'll see you there."

With the help of dashboard GPS I found the cafe nestled amidst store fronts. Cassie waved from a small round table and I took the seat facing her.

Like the previous day, conversation with the former soldier came easily. She talked about her fitness routine, much of which, she said, "is derived from boot camp."

"My x husband is into keeping fit, weight lifting."

"Your x husband?"

"The marriage wasn't right."

"Sarah and I broke up the night before I left for the induction center."

So you are a lesbian.

"I get that you didn't keep touch."

"We didn't, but I sort of wanted to break up before I enlisted."

"May I ask a personal question?"

"You want to know why I'm not wearing a bra."

I answered with just a nod.

"I don't like them."

"Why did you guys break up?"

"She's high maintenance. I couldn't deal with that."

"Did you guys fight a lot?"

"We had a couple of fights. We were together only for eight months."

"About what," I asked.

"Stupid stuff," said Cassie.

"I've never told this to anyone but your boobs are not the first pair to hold my gaze."

"I bet," she said grinning.

"Before we were married Tim and I were watching porn one night. I kept it to myself that I was actually looking at the girls rather than the guys."

Cassie nodded. "No need to be embarrassed," she said softly.

"For the sake of our marriage I burried it but toward the end I wasn't happy."

I knew right then that I wanted to spend as much time as possible with Cassie. If we couldn't chat in person we'd resort to video chat or text messages.

Fall passed into winter. Cass had moved into her dorm room. Though lonely, I wished her well. Text messages did little to lift my spirits but at least we were talking.

Winter turned to spring. With the onset of warm weather came a major upturn in my spirits.

I was home from work barely a half hour when doorbell rang bringing me in from the balcony.

"Hey college girl, How's school?"

"Good, I love it."

I pulled her into a kiss, my hands draping over her shoulders. Her hands found my waist. The kiss deepened as the passion was poured into it.

We broke away only to go out to the balcony.

As we sat facing one another across the black metal lattice table I talked about my time in nursing school, the sorority life and refusing dates with guys.

"But you married a guy," she said.

"Tim and I had been friends since high school. We started dating seriously after I graduated college. I was 24 I married him. He was 25. Besides, I felt like I was being pressured to marry a 'nice guy' and give my parents grandchildren."

She pulled the Sage green short-sleeved square-neck teeshirt off exposing her boobs.

"Still not wearing a bra," I teased.

"I thought you liked my fashion sense."

I moved in the chair to the other side of the table. While lips were locked together caresses roamed each other's body.

We sat outside on the balcony until the setting sun painted the sky in hues of orange, pink and purple. Cassie encouraged me to take my top off and leave it with hers on the floor.

We hurried to my bedroom leaving jeans and panties on the floor along the way. On the bed we caressed every inch of each other's naked body and moaned softly as fingers found each other's erogenous spots. Moans crescendoed as tension increased and we took delight in our impending orgasms.

My first orgasm with a woman, actually my first orgasm in years, left me winded and recuperating slowly.

In the morning I rose early leaving Cassie asleep on the window side of the bed. As I walked toward the exit door I placed a wake-up call. Actually it was more like a wake-up voice mail

"Rise and shine sleepy head."

Nothing felt so good as finding her in my kitchen when I got home from work that afternoon. The aroma of cooking wafted through the air.

"I'm roasting a chicken. I went to the supermarket this morning about 8 o'clock."

I gave a heart felt reply. "You'll make some girl a good wife someday."

"I hope so Stephanie. I think I'm falling in love with you."
