Author's Note:
This is the third part in the second series about the Nickels family. I believe many of you have come to love Joe, Ame, Bekah, Dave, Nancy, Bob, and Nana. (Who doesn't love Nana?!) You know the drill... my stories are STORIES, so many details make for fun, exciting, and interesting plot lines. And there's a lot of overlap from Bekah's story, but from Joe's POV. "Oh,
that's
why..." is what I'm going for. Questions and comments are welcome. Please take the time to rate this story also. I hope everyone will be kind.
Recap:
Joe put his head back on the cushion of the couch and continued to think about Ame. Her smile. Her laugh. The feel of her skin against his. The touch of her fingers. The look in her eyes when she reached pure bliss. He fell asleep sitting there continuing to picture his girl in his mind.
Dreams: Joe 03
"Ame, you are going to be the most beautiful bride!" Beck-Beck exclaimed after the side door closed.
"Well, both of you girls are gorgeous! You made or will make the most beautiful brides!" Mom amended. Typical Mom. Always ultra-fair. She was right, because they were both beautiful, and of course Beck-Beck was, and Ame will be. But still... typical.
"And wait until Joe sees the other stuff," Beck encouraged her. Oh, now we're talking, Joe thought.
"Ame, I'm going to keep all your stuff here in this room, alright?" Mom told her.
"Girls,
shhh
," Dad requested from the kitchen. "He's been asleep since just after dinner."
"Is Dave working on homework?" Beck-Beck asked.
"Upstairs," Dad told her.
"Good luck tomorrow, Ame!" Beck called to her, and Joe heard her footsteps as she walked up the stairs.
"How was dinner?" Mom asked Dad.
Joe tried to hear what Dad said but felt a hand on his arm.
Mmm
, Ame. When he felt her soft lips on his, he was still for a few seconds, but then he acted. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her onto his lap. "
Mmm!
" she tried to squeal, but he kept his mouth pressed to hers.
"Hi," he whispered and kissed her lips again.
"Hi," she whispered back and smiled at him.
"How'd it go?" Joe asked her quietly. "I hear you're going to make the most beautiful bride, not that it needed to be said. You already are," he whispered and then brought her mouth down onto his.
"Where did Ame go?" Mom asked and Joe smiled against her lips.
"I'm here, Mrs. Nickels," Ame answered and tried to wiggle out of Joe's hold.
"Oh, hello, Joseph," Mom greeted him and smiled. "Ame, we'll go over other things tomorrow after you get off work. Does that sound good?"
"Sure things, Mrs. Nickels," Ame answered and finally wiggled out of Joe's grasp. "Thank you so much. I had so much fun today. You and Bekah were such great help."
"Oh, Ame, it was truly my pleasure," Mom assured her and stood near couch near them. "I'll see you both in the morning," she stated as she turned to walk toward her bedroom.
"Ready to head down?" Joe asked Ame as he began getting up.
"Are
you
? You just had a long nap?" Ame asked him and took his hands to get helped up.
"All the better for you," he whispered against her ear and slid his finger down her arm and clasped her hand in his as he brought her down the stairs.
He shut the door to his room and then laid her down on his bed and climbed on top of her. She tore off her shirt and reached down to help him out of his, all the while putting her mouth on his mouth, his neck, his chest. He put his hands on her face and brought her lips to his. He ran his hands up and down her back and kissed her so passionately.
"Ame, oh Ame," Joe whispered as he sat up and brought her to straddle him, "I love you. God, I want you so bad," he sighed and reached up to bring her mouth down onto his again.
"Joe," she whispered and gasped as he had her bra unfastened and a breast in his mouth already. "
Mmm
," she moaned and arched her back. He continued to lick and flick and suck on her hungrily and she gladly let him. "I love this," she whispered and then put her mouth to his when he looked up at her. "I love you."
He had her lie on her stomach next and gave her a massage. It'd been a while since they'd done this, so he took his time and laid on extra kisses all along the path of where his hands had been. She moaned or sighed as he touched her.
"Do you want the same?" she asked Joe and turned her head.
"No, I want to talk to you. Should we get into bed or just stay like this?"
"I'm comfortable," she responded and continued looking at him as he took a seat on the bed with his back resting against the headboard. "What's up?"
"Well, first," he began, "how was shopping? Did you find a dress, and did Beck-Beck buy you the world?"
"Shopping was fun. So fun," Ame amended and smiled as she kept the side of her face to the bed. "Bekah and your mom are so awesome. Even my mom had an unusually good time. Yes, I got the dress. Yes, Bekah went over the top, but it was very cool, and I'm even more excited about the wedding night. Like, waiting until the wedding night. The way Bekah went on about her experience of the honeymoon made me super excited to see what ours will be like."
"Beck-Beck told you about the honeymoon?" Joe asked and huffed. "Dave won't tell me anything."
"Well, she didn't say Dave did this or anything like that. Um, I don't know what I should share with you. It was more about how it was set up over there and how she felt and stuff. I can't explain how we girls talk to each other. It was safe enough for her to say in front of our moms, if that helps. Like, she was completely comfortable saying everything in front of them. Even my mom chimed in about her take on what Bekah said, and my mom isn't like that."
"The only thing Dave has told me is that it was the 'Best. Week. Ever.'"
"Oh, that was a given," Ame clarified. "Definitely earth-shattering, better than they could have ever imagined, amazing nights and all throughout the days, incredibly hot experiences."
"Well, in fairness to Dave, I guess in man-speak, that is the same thing as 'best week ever.'"
"See, that's why guys always make fun of girls and say they talk too much, and why girls regularly say guys need to communicate more."
"Do I need to communicate more?"
"I'll listen to whatever you want to tell me, Joe," Ame answered. "I don't feel like we don't talk enough. How's that for a double negative?"
"Well, ironically, I want to ask you about something similar, I guess. What about writing our own vows rather than using the generic ones we always hear? I thought maybe we could work together on that. And if we got them done tonight, we could bring them in to show Fr. K."
Ame looked at him and then sighed. "I really like that idea," she confessed and reached out to touch his hand. "I was going to ask, but I didn't know if that was something you'd want to do." She sat up and reached over to pull on her shirt.
"I began working on it upstairs but then got kinda caught up thinking about the wedding
night
and fell asleep. So far, I think I had our full names written down."
"That's a good start," she teased and sat in his lap between his legs so she could rest her back to him. "Do you think 'I love how well we fit together' would be appropriate to be said in church?"
"Maybe we could put it as a last idea if the other several don't work," he responded. "But seriously, I just wanted us to use our own words to make it really special."
They worked on brainstorming for about an hour and came up with a pretty good draft. Joe watched as she used her nicest handwriting to write up the ideas they had for what they'd say to each other and kissed the side of her head when she'd finished.
"What else, babe?" Ame asked him as she got up to set the paper on the desk. "We're on a role."
"In the spirit of honesty," he shared, "I suppose I should tell you that I went over to look at the house to see what we'd be working with for our wedding and honeymoon."
"OK, good to know," she laughed, "because I got to get the whole tour with Bekah and your mom after we were done shopping. My mom went home, but we had some things to bring over there before we came back here. So, what did you think?"
