Caitlin waited at the park. She was sitting on a park bench and had to lean back a bit since her jeans were snug. She was only three months along and she was refusing to buy any maternity clothing for at least two more months. Her boyfriend Logan had told her to meet him there and he was 15 minutes late. She rolled her eyes and realized he was never on time.
If someone had told her three months ago that she would get back together with her boyfriend from high school and that she would be pregnant with his baby, she would have laughed. After breaking up, she had hated him, but she figured that old age had mellowed her and she realized that he really, truly, loved her.
Caitlin looked up and watched Logan stroll through the park. He was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. His blond hair was long enough that the ends were starting to curl. He had a big grin on his face and she knew something was up. Logan walked over to Caitlin and, without saying a word, got down on one knee and held her hands in his. Caitlin bit her lip to control her emotions. These pregnancy hormones were driving her crazy and she cried at the drop of a hat nowadays.
"I love you Caitlin with all my heart and want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are gorgeous and smart and witty and the fact you are carrying our child makes me love you even more. I want to marry you and be with you for the rest of my life. Caitlin will you marry me?"
"Yes."
Caitlin could barely speak as Logan slid the sparkling diamond ring onto her left hand ring finger. They kissed softly and giggled.
"There. Did I do it right this time?"
