Author's note: Hi guys! After getting a lot of critical reviews for my first story, I must say that I'm motivated. I received a lot of valuable comments for improvements which is something that reinforced my opinion of the Literotica community nature. This time it's a new story. I plan to make at least a few parts of this. Once again, I'm going for a story that involves a bit of everything - romance, cheating, drama etc. I've tried to keep things like names, culture, nationalities etc. generic or unrevealed to cater to everyone's undivided interest. Part 1 is more of a story and character setter. Further parts are already planned and have more dynamic to the plot. Really hope you guys like Part 1 for now. Keep pouring in the critical comments. It's highly appreciated. Now read on!

Ch 1: John
John kept the phone down and lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He couldn't help smiling. He had just got an invite to be a visiting professor in a top university in the same city. It was something he always wanted to do and the timing was perfect too. He really needed this.
John had always been a very social and sporty person in school and college. He was usually in most of the sports teams and had dated a few girls in college. In short, he had a life. All of that changed after work though. All of his time and energy was spent at work and he lost contact with most of his friends. He could still pass off as an above average looking guy with his 6 ft frame, long wavy black hair and chiseled face but he himself wasn't happy with his fitness. And then there was his wife.
His marriage was arranged by his parents as he wasn't seeing anyone for a while. He really didn't have an issue and Susan seemed really sweet at first too. But 2 years on, John wasn't enjoying it anymore. It wasn't really divorce worthy stuff. Susan was nice to him and they got along well but the sex wasn't fun anymore. He found himself thinking of his ex-girlfriends or fantasy encounters on many nights. He needed a getaway, an escape route, something to turn things around. His mind raced back to his current achievement. He liked interacting with people and teaching some college students about what he had worked hard for in the past few years gave him some solace for all the things he had sacrificed after college¬. He got up and started rummaging through his clothes, thinking of what to wear during his classes, while humming to himself as Susan woke up.
"Do you have to do everything in the fucking middle of the night?!" Susan screamed as she got up and headed out of the bedroom with her pillow.
John heard the second bedroom open and close shut as he kept humming to himself while picking out a nice shirt.
Ch 2: Sophia
Sophia stood in front of the notice board peering at the semester standings. She was happy that she was top of the class again, even though it didn't surprise her much.
"Looks like the know-it-all bitch topped again, boys!" came a voice from behind her.
Sophia turned around to see three of her classmates sneering at her.
"Well she's not got nothing else to do ever since she got dumped by Brian I guess," Jason, the tall bully continued.
"Go home you losers!" Sophia snarled at the trio.
"Maybe if you had learned to suck cock, you would have had a boyfriend to go home to, bitch!" mocked the second guy whose name she didn't even know.
The three of them erupted in a cacophony of laughter as Sophia walked away with a disgusted look. She told herself she was used to this by now. She told herself it was her fault for dating Brian who turned out to be an obnoxious control-freak. She broke up with him after he tried to force her to suck his cock. Thinking about that scene sent a shiver down her spine. As if that wasn't enough, most of the people she knew turned on her and the bullying started. It was horrifying for Sophia at first because she assumed she would garner public sympathy but she soon realized the true nature of those around her. Brian had a huge following and was easily the most popular guy in school. He was the son of a big shot and was the captain of the football team. Girls fantasized about him and boys followed him around everywhere. She was never going to win that battle. Three months had since passed and she didn't even care anymore. She was just waiting to get through her last semester.
"How's Ms. Braniac doing today?" Hannah came up from behind to put an arm around Sophia.
"You know I hate that nickname. It makes me sound like some ugly villain," Sophia rebuked.
She knew she wasn't ugly though. The reason Brian got with her was because she was strikingly pretty and had a very nice body. She was 5' 8", had long straight black hair, was very fit owing to her daily tennis practice but curvy enough as well. She stopped thinking about herself and turned to her best friend Hannah.
"I'm sorry those guys bullied you again. They're jerks. Forget about them, Sophia!" Hannah smiled encouragingly.
"And...Forgotten!" Sophia waved her hand like a magic wand and giggled.
Hannah was her only good friend in college and was with her thick and thin through the past year. Sophia was glad she had Hannah beside her.
"Did you see the forms for the last sem electives? There's a new subject with a guest faculty," Hannah explained as both of them picked up the forms.
"Says here he's an industry expert. Sounds cool, doesn't it?" Hannah looked at her friend.
"Yeah...I think I'll go for it," replied Sophia as her eyes scanned across the name 'John Longstone'.
Ch 3: Game, Set and Match!
"And that's what industry experts have analyzed from the data shown right here," John pointed to the screen as he was nearing the end of his lecture.
He was definitely enjoying his new part-time role though he was a little disappointed by the lack of interest of most of the class. He told himself he should have expected it considering it was the last semester. He was really happy with one person in particular though.
"But is that data reliable, since it's almost a decade old?" Sophia immediately pointed out from the first bench.
"Another very good question, miss! Let me explain!" As John proceeded to answer her query, he couldn't help but notice how attractive she looked.
Since he had the freedom of looking directly at her, he dragged on his explanation while studying her beautiful features. She had immersive eyes, a perfect nose and slightly pouty lips which he found very sexy. Her hair was tied up revealing her smooth shoulders since she had worn a thin sleeveless top. He was glad modern colleges allowed this kind of attire. Once he had finished, the class dismissed with a groan for the delay.
"Thanks for delaying the whole class, you cunt bitch!" Sophia's regular bully, Jason, snarled as he left the room.
Sophia didn't care. She actually enjoyed herself and couldn't help be in awe of the professor. She walked up to him wearing her best smile.
"Hi! Sophia here. That was an awesome class. The best I've attended in this college!" she spoke genuinely as she looked up at him. He was tall, she realized.
"Why...thank you. I'm glad at least you liked it!" John was overjoyed with his newfound admirer.
Sophia responded, "Don't mind the others. They're idiots."
Both of them picked up their bags and started walking as Sophia continued, "I read through your bio. You've been involved in some really big projects for your age. It's quite impressive."
"Thanks! It might not be an equivalent compliment, but I noticed your name at the top of the charts while coming in. You're no slacker too," replied John immediately.
"Gee...thanks!" No one had ever complimented Sophia so nicely about her scores before.
In a world where most people bullied or made fun of her for being studious, here was a guy who actually admired her for it. "I guess I've just had a lot of time on my hands. All I do is study and play tennis."
"You play tennis!? That's awesome. No wonder you're ho-...errrr...fit!" John fumbled as he gave Sophia a nervous look.
She burst out laughing. She had an infectious laugh, John thought to himself.
