"Jimmy, get your lazy butt up and look for a job today!" His mother yelled from the hallway. "You will not spend your summer break doing nothing. Jimmy, do you hear me?" she yelled even louder.
"Yeah, mom," he yelled back, "I hear you." And so can the rest of the neighborhood, he thought to himself. Geez, it's only Monday and she's all over my ass already. Give me a break! I've been up for an hour anyway. It's not that he had anything against working, but he had finished his exams only three days ago and had only been home one day since returning from college. At least she could give him a couple of days to relax.
He wandered down to the kitchen where the classified ads were already spread out on the table for him. Jimmy glanced at them for a second before he fixed himself a bowl of cereal. Sitting down with his cereal and juice, he browsed through the ads, especially the ones that his mom had circled. Most of the ones circled were fast food jobs and he had worked in enough restaurants to know that he wanted nothing to do with them for a very long while. It's not very much fun seeing rats as big as house cats rummaging through the garbage behind restaurants, especially seafood places. His eyes scanned the page looking for anything that looked remotely interesting. Jimmy turned the page and saw that his mom had circled an ad in red ink for him, effectively catching his eye.
"Fast moving company seeking energetic individuals in our research and development department. No experience required. Must be self-motivated and eager to please. Insurance and fringe benefits. If you fit these qualities, call 555-6969 for an appointment."
"That doesn't look too bad," he said casually, aloud. He picked up the phone and dialed the number. It was answered on the second ring.
"CG4U, this is Monique, how may I help you?" she purred over the line.
"Hi," Jimmy said, "I'm calling about your ad in the classified section."
"Ooh, the research and development opening," she cooed. "Would you like an appointment?"
"Yes, ma'am," he said.
"We have an opening at ten o'clock. Would that be okay with you?"
"That would be fine," he answered.
"Your name?" Her voice was seductive and sweet and Jimmy was getting excited just listening to it.
"Jimmy.....er, James Slonaker," he replied, consciously deepening his voice.
"James," she sighed, "that's such a pretty name." My God, Jimmy thought, she almost sounds orgasmic. "I have you down for ten. Please bring a valid picture ID card and your social security card along with you, James."
"I will, thanks."
"Oh no, James, thank you." The emphasis on βyou' was very pronounced.
"Where are you located?" he asked quickly before the connection was broken.
"We're at 69 S. Peckerton, oops, I mean Pickerington. Silly me, I get that mixed up sometimes," Monique giggled.
"69 S. Pickerington," Jimmy repeated.
"Yes, James."
"Okay then, I'll be there at ten."
"I can't wait," she said breathlessly before she hung up.
Jimmy glanced at the clock. It was a few minutes before nine and he would have to hurry to make the appointment on time. Feeling slightly horny from the receptionist's sexy voice and missing his girlfriend, Jimmy ambled up the stairs to his room to get ready.
Jimmy arrived in the lobby of CG4U a few minutes early. He found that the company's full name was "Conjugal Gifts 4 U", but he had no idea what their business was. He would need a dictionary for that. He was greeted by an overly perky blonde whose bra size vastly overwhelmed her IQ.
"You must be James Slonaker," she said sweetly when he came to her desk. She was wearing a pink blouse that had a plunging neckline and left little to the imagination. Jimmy couldn't help but look down into her velvety cleavage. When he looked up at her face, she was smiling. "Don't worry, everyone looks at them. I don't mind. If you get hired, maybe we can be partners sometime and you can see them without that silly bra. I hate clothes!" she pouted.
"What?" he stammered.
"Here," she said, thrusting a pen and paper at him. "Fill out this application and bring it back to me."
"Okay," he said warily, not really knowing what was going on with her.
He took the pen and application and sat down in one of many chairs. There was no one else in the small lobby as he looked around. He saw advertisements on the walls, one saying "Conjugal Gifts 4 U, special gifts for special couples". Others on the walls said basically the same thing and Jimmy was beginning to realize what their business was all about. A true Rhodes Scholar material, he was.
He tried to concentrate on the application, but found it difficult with Monique staring at him and blowing kisses. He smiled back a few times, but this only encouraged her. It was a standard application, one that Jimmy had filled out many times before. After several minutes of intense concentration to avoid looking at Monique, he finished and brought the clipboard and pen back to her.
"Finished already?" she asked. "My, you must be really smart. It took me over a half hour to finish it." That doesn't surprise me a bit, Jimmy thought. "You know, you're cute and I'm not wearing any underwear right now."
"What?"
"Just have a seat and Sonia will seen you in just a little bit." Monique went back to writing something in a black book.
Jimmy looked at her and was beginning to wonder if he was going crazy. Anyway, he sat down and waited. Monique looked at him from time to time and even licked her lips on occasion when she caught his attention, which was often. He was just beginning to read a magazine when an attractive brunette, dressed in a sharp business suit, called his name.
