It has been a long, hard day at work causing Veronica Rose to lose all track of time. It was one of those days where she has not stopped since arriving at work this morning at three minutes before eight o'clock. No sooner had she put her purse in her desk drawer, when the phone on her desk started to ring. It was someone wanting to talk to the person responsible for shipping his printer; it was supposed to have arrived two days ago, but he has yet to receive it. She transferred the call to the warehouse manager.
She normally arrives about five minutes earlier, but there was a massive traffic jam at Transcontinental Drive, where the expressway goes over it. Some insensitive, thoughtless jerk tried to drive around a school bus while it was picking up some elementary students at their bus stop. He had to swerve to avoid hitting a child running across the street. He hit the side of the bus instead, blocking two lanes of traffic. When a police woman waved Veronica passed the accident, the obviously frustrated man was leaning against a squad car with his hands handcuffed behind his back; presumably arrested for attempting to pass a school bus while it is loading or unloading passengers. Luckily no one was hurt.
She's the receptionist for ComSup Inc., a small computer supply company. One of her duties there is to write up any phone orders that may come in during the day. As soon as she finished checking the company's e-mail, another duty she has to perform, her manager handed her several orders that had to be typed up. When she finished filling out those orders, the phone rang again. It was another customer demanding immediate service.
It didn't stop all day. If it wasn't an order, then it was someone asking questions about what kinds of computer supplies they carry. She would politely answer with the company's motto: We've got the computer peripherals you need.
Toward the end of the day, one irritating person even called and asked what kind of cell phone repairs they did and how long it would take to fix his; he needed a replacement for the broken glass on his phone. When she told him that they don't repair cell phones, the sold computer supplies and computer peripherals, he became indignant. He called her a liar and demanded to talk to her boss. She told him he was busy with a customer at the time. The caller then screamed into the phone that he was going to write a letter to the store manager complaining about the poor service and hung up.
At that point she had only one thing on her mind, to get away from ComSup, strip down, climb in the therapeutic hot tub in her back yard and relax. It is in a gazebo attached to the tool shed at the end of the long driveway of her home.
She lives in a one bedroom apartment that is connected to the rear of her maternal grandmother's house, a 'granny apartment' with its own private entrance. Her Granny Ruth had the whirlpool bath installed a little over a year ago as a reward for Veronica's helping her with shopping, groceries and just being there when she needs her granddaughter to run an errand or something. Since then it seems as though Veronica spends many of her spare moments just lounging in the tub's warm, invigorating waters.
Before that, she would frequently use the saunas at SAMS Spa health resort to relax and loosen up. But now, she spends more time in her grandparent's jetted bath than she does in the saunas at the health club. It's also more convenient and cheaper; Granny Ruth doesn't charge her anything for using it. Nor does she charge her rent, because Veronica pays all the utility bills and for the Internet and television connections to both her apartment and her grandmother's house.
Besides, the house is paid for; her grandparent paid off the mortgage soon after her husband died a few years ago using the money she received from his life insurance. She did that, rather than invest it, because she knew it would save her thousands of dollars in interest payments. She figured that if she invested it in any kind of savings certificates, she would get less than a hundred dollars a month.
This afternoon it will be a refreshing break to soothe her aching muscles. She looks at the clock; just a few more minutes to go and then heavenly bliss. Suddenly her cell phone interrupts her daydream. She checks the caller identification and sees that it is Jack, her boyfriend. "Hello, lover boy," she says sensuously.
"Are you going straight home after work or are you going shopping for your grandmother or something?"
"Oh baby, I'm so tired right now. I just want to get into the whirlpool in my backyard and relax until I shrivel up."
"Mind if I meet you there? I want to talk to you about something."
"No, of course not baby. You know that you can come over anytime you like. Granny Ruth likes you."
"OK, I'll meet you there in about an hour. I really can't talk; I'm in traffic, driving a customer to the airport." Then he hangs up leaving Veronica wondering about what he wants to talk about.
She contemplates calling him back but decides against it. Whatever it is can wait. Right now the clock is hitting right at five o'clock and she just wants to get in her car and go home. She looks around the office; everyone in the office is getting ready to leave. She turns off her computer, straightens out her desk, grabs her purse and heads for the door along with the other employees.
The traffic is unusually heavy for some reason - probably another accident somewhere further down the expressway. It's just something else to get on her already frazzled nerves. An hour or so relaxing in the therapeutic bath is looking better and better every minute.
When she finally does get home, the first thing she does is to check with her grandmother to see if she needs anything but her grandparent doesn't need anything at this time. She informs the elderly lady that she and Jack are going to spend an hour or so in the whirlpool bath. Her Granny Ruth tells her to go ahead and enjoy herself; she only wishes that she were younger, so she could join them. Veronica objects, saying that she isn't that old. But the elderly lady reminds her that her bad hip would prevent her from climbing into the tub and besides, she does not have a bathing suit. Veronica hugs her, kisses her on the cheek and tells her that she will let her know when she and Jack are finished.
Her grandparent tells her that she just finished baking a cherry pie. She and Jack can have a slice later with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if they want some. Veronica tells her that she will ask Jack to see if he wants any. Then she leaves to turn on the hot tub so that it will be ready by the time she is changed into her bathing suit.
She loves her gold bikini thong bottom with matching string triangle sheer top. She purchased it just a few weeks ago from a women's clothing store in Lakeside Shopping Center that specializes in exotic women's wear. It is very revealing covering everything that needs to be concealed - her areola and nipples and the hair of her pubic mound. There is a slight valley in the cloth over her pussy lips, but she likes that anyway. It also reveals everything that her Spanish lover likes showing - the cheeks of her ass, the rise of her supple breasts and her areola and nipples are apparent through the thin material.
Her grandmother also thinks it's adorable and wishes she were young enough to wear one.
