Chapter 2 - The Invitation.
Charlie awoke with a start, his phone was ringing. Confused as to where he was momentarily, he fumbled around on the bedside table. The ringing stopped. He cursed under his breath at having been woken so noisily and sat up on the side of the bed, sighing. The thoughts of the previous evening began to fill his mind again, he smiled, remembering the details.
His reminiscing was interrupted with the sound of a text message on his phone. He picked it up and pressed 'Read'
'Please call me back the moment you see this message!'
It was from an unknown number, he tossed his phone back onto the bedside table. "Bloody spam!" he muttered. He sighed again, stood up and headed for the bathroom, stripped off, opened the shower door and stepped in, and turned the water on.
The hot water cascading over his body woke him up, quickly he washed all over, shampooed his hair and stood for quite some time just enjoying the sensation of the water caressing his skin.
Finally, he turned the shower off, stepped out and dried himself, before wrapping the towel around his waist and stepping back into the bedroom.
His phone started ringing again, the same unknown number, he briefly considered pressing 'Dismiss Call' but something made him pick it up; pressing 'Answer' he held it to his ear.
"Hello?" he snapped, expecting some salesman or other trying to sell him something he had no need for, again.
"Charlie! You're awake! Good morning!" Angela's voice startled him a little.
"Oh Angela... How.. nice to hear from you..." He replied hesitantly.
"Now Charlie, how do you address me? Have you forgotten already?" She sounded a little annoyed.
"Oh, yes... Sorry Miss, I do apologise, I... just wasn't.. expecting to... hear your voice."
"Why not, Charlie, I did enjoy our time together last night, I thought it might be lovely to see you again and have a little chat about something that might appeal to you."
His mind raced a little wondering what she may want to chat about, but his excitement rose thinking about meeting her again.
"Of course Miss... That would be wonderful." He hesitated, "When were you thinking about meeting"
"How about in an hours time, Charlie? There's no time like the present is there?"
"Oh, that quickly, Miss?" he blurted out.
"Yes, Charlie, that quickly! You do want to meet again, don't you, Charlie?" She enquired.
"Yes, yes of course, Miss, more than anything!"
"Mmm, 'more than
anything
' Charlie? You sound like you're quite eager, I do like that, very much!"
He noticed a slight change in her voice as she spoke those words, he swallowed slowly listening to them.
"Where would you like to meet, Miss?" he asked slowly.
"I shall send a taxi, Charlie, we'll meet at my house again, there's everything I need here."
"Everything you need, Miss?" He asked a little nervously "Such as?"
"Oh, don't you worry about that, Charlie" It sounded as if she was grinning as she spoke "If everything goes as I think it will, you'll find out soon enough!"
Charlie went quiet, wondering just what she meant.
"You've gone very quiet, Charlie, are you OK?"
"Yes Miss..." he hesitated, "I was just wondering what 'everything you need' meant"
"Don't worry about that, Charlie, it's nothing to be concerned about, I'll discuss things with you when you get here. Now, the taxi's on it's way, please make sure you're clean and presentable, and I'll see you soon!"
"OK Miss, I'm almost ready anyway. I'm looking forward to seeing you again, very much"
"As you should Charlie, I'm looking forward to seeing you too! Now, run along and finish getting ready, time's ticking! Bye for now!"
The line went dead as she hung up, leaving Charlie just a little time to shave and finish getting ready.
He soon found himself, in the taxi, speeding out of town into the countryside again, and in no time they had arrived at the gated driveway. The gates swung open automatically and the driver took him down the drive. He hadn't noticed last night, just how long the drive was, and how secluded her home was.
In a couple of minutes, the driveway opened up at the courtyard at the fron of the house, again, he was taken aback at the size of it as it towered over him as he opened the door and got out.
"How much?" He asked the driver.
"Don't worry mate, that's been taken care of, have a good day!" he smiled as he put the car into gear and drove off back to the long driveway.
Charlie looked at the imposing building resplendent in the morning sunshine, and wondered just how Angela could afford such a place. Slowly he walked up the steps towards the front door, made sure that his clothes weren't creased and his hair was tidy before ringing the bell.
He waited quite nervously for a few minutes, until he heard footsteps approaching behind the door, and the lock being opened.
The door swung open, and Angela stood, smiling, immaculately dressed in a white blouse, grey pencil skirt, split part the way up to reveal a tantalising glimpse of a stocking top and wonderful high heels. She looked stunning, looking every inch a Goddess. His heart beat faster at such a vision before him.
"Hello Charlie, so good of you to come!"
She held out a hand to him, he took it in his and held it to his lips and gently kissed it.
"Thank you, Miss, I could hardly refuse such an offer today"
"Of course not, Charlie, that would have been foolish, wouldn't it?" She smiled
He nodded nervously.
"Do come in, Charlie, I have some things to discuss with you that I think you'll be very interested in"
She held the door open and he entered inside, before closing the door and locking it.
"Let me have a look at you, Charlie" She smiled, stepping back a little. "Yes, quite presentable, thank you for making the effort, it is appreciated. I do hope that I'm to your liking too?"
"Oh... Gosh... Yes Miss!" He looked at her, marvelling at how she looked as if she hadn't aged all that much, still a figure to die for, her makeup looking as exquisite as ever, her hair, now a little greyer but still with a wonderful blonde tinge tied back as he remembered. He didn't quite know what to say. He stuttered "You're... Quite... Stunning, Miss"
She smiled "I'm pleased you think so, I do like to look my best. Always."
"Yes Miss, you always did."
She smiled back at him, knowingly.
"Come though to the lounge, Charlie, I have a pot of coffee there, and we can chat"
"Yes, Miss, of course..."
He followed as she walked, his eyes fixed on her swaying hips, listening to her heels on the floor, wondering just what she'd asked him here to chat about.
"Do have a seat, Charlie. Would you like a coffee?" She asked, showing him to a large, comfortable chair.
"Yes please, Miss, white with one sugar, please"
She poured the coffee and milk, and stirred in the sugar before handing the cup over to him. Alngela then poured her own and sat down opposite him.
Taking a sip of coffee, she placed the cup back on the saucer and looked across at him.
"Charlie..."
"Yes Miss?"
"Did you enjoy yourself last night?"
