Thank you for reading my story, I hope that you enjoy it. Love Mica xx, Yorkshire England.

My turn at the monitors, we took it in turns to watch the grounds. We had no idea when it would happen, but we guessed that before long people would come and investigate, to see if there was any food available. We had long since moved the long-life and tinned food down to the bunker and now left the front and back doors unlocked, no need for people to smash their way in.
We tended to watch the deer, they had a keen sense of hearing, and as when Amanda arrived, we presumed the deer would be our early alert. We didn't watch over night, paranoia lay that way, we relied on the security of darkness. It was Amanda that saw them and called me to see.
There were two people walking across the grass to the front door. On the monitor we could hear what was being said.
"Place looks abandoned," a male voice said.
"Oh Joe, that is a shame, to have come all this way and no joy."
The male was obviously Joe. "Do you want to look around or try and get home again Nat?" He said.
"I remember Dad telling us about this house that had the bunker, but I can't see any sign of a bunker, there can't be anyone here that could help us." The female, apparently called Nat, said, "I don't know what to do."
"I am going up," I said, I will speak to them." I quickly put some jogging pants and a T shirt on and went upstairs, "Lock the main door behind me, I will close the bookcase. If you watch on the monitor and I bring them with me, then you can unlock the main door."
I opened the main safe door and then pushed the bookcase away, putting it back in place and securing the catch. I went through the house and opened the front door. Nat and Joe were walking away and turned when the heard the door open.
"May I help you?" I asked standing in the doorway, "I don't tend to get visitors."
"Oh God, yes, if you can." Nat said, "I am Natalie and this is my brother Joe. We had hoped to find sanctuary here."
"Sanctuary?" I asked.
"Yes. Our Dad used to tell us about this house that had a huge government bomb shelter, and, well, I worked out this had to be it, but I can't see any sign of a shelter. We were hoping that there would be official people here and that we would be safe."
"Safe?" I asked, "safe from what?"
"It is not safe for my sister," Joe said, "every man just wants to rape her, even our Dad thinks he can have her, and there is just nowhere we can go. We had hoped this would be a sanctuary where she would be safe. It doesn't need to be for me, but I just want Nat safe."
"I see," I said, my hand behind my back showing a thumbs up, hopefully indicating to Amanda that things would be okay.
"And why should I give your sister sanctuary, if indeed this is a place of sanctuary?"
"She is a nurse, I am just an engineer, well, apprentice engineer, but I thought a place of sanctuary could use a nurse."
He wasn't wrong there, and to be honest, another man around the place would be useful, a variety of DNA if nothing else.
"I see. Well, I suppose that you both better come inside then," I said holding the door open.
"Really? Really" Natalie asked.
"Yes, but if you come in, you can't leave. Seriously we only survive because we thought no one knew we were here, your Dad knowing was a surprise, an unpleasant surprise."
They both walked in, and I shut the door behind them. I took them into the study and opened the bookcase and the safe door opened from inside, Amanda stood there with her slightly swelling belly and just wearing knickers.
"Oh," Natalie said. "I, er well, yes, do you know how many months?"
She was on the ball that was for sure. I shut and latched the bookcase and then closed and locked the safe door.
"About three, maybe three and a half, we don't really take any notice of dates here." Amanda said, "but my sister is at least eight months if not more. We are just going to muddle through, none of us have any experience in childbirth. We decided to worry about it on the day."
"My God," Natalie said, "I was on the Gynie ward at Bradford Maternity hospital, I have helped with a lot of births. What facilities do you have?"
"Look," I said, "Shall we go down and you can look around. We have a few spare bedrooms, I assume that you and your brother will want separate rooms? If not, it doesn't matter to us in the slightest. We only have one rule, once you are here, you don't leave because no one must know about us. We all try to get on, no means no, if you understand what I mean, and we all take it in turns doing what needs doing."
"Yes, fine, it is too dangerous out there, girls are being raped and any that resist are beaten or killed and just left where they lay, there is virtually no police presence, and I am sorry, but we bought no food, there just isn't any. If you try and grow your own it just gets stolen, and if you try to protect it, then you get killed and then your food stolen."
"Don't worry about food, we have enough for what we need. There are only three of us, Amanda and her sister Alice who is down in the bunker. They are both my nieces. Oh, we don't tend to wear clothes as it saves water with only washing ourselves and not clothes. You can join us or wear clothes, it is not an issue. But, you will have to shower thoroughly before you come into the main area."
"Shower? Oh, okay."
"We don't know what poisons and pathogens are out there and we don't know how to treat them, so, these clothes I am wearing will stay outside and I will shower too as I have been outside to greet you."
Amanda, who hadn't made any contact with them, or gone outside, went on ahead and went through to the bunker. I took Natalie and Joe to the showers in the mud room. I took my clothes of and threw them in the corner and got under a shower, washing thoroughly, double washing my hair, my thinning hair.
I didn't watch them, but they had stripped and were both having showers when I had finished. I dried myself with a towel and then wrapped it around me, just because it was easier to carry that way, and we did launder the towels from the mud room shower. After I had finished, I made sure that the external mud room door was locked.
Natalie and Joe, both good looking people, wrapped towels around themselves and followed me through to the main bunker, me locking the door behind us. If anyone found us, that was three secure steel doors that that they would have to get through.
Alice was sat on the sofa, her breathing quite hard and her skin perspiring, she was nearing the end game, and each day was more and more uncomfortable for her.
"Alice, this is Natalie and Joe, they will be staying with us, from what they say it is worse than we thought out there. Natalie is a gynie nurse, and that is rather good for us."
Natalie walked over and took Alice's wrist, feeling her pulse. "Your pulse is normal," she said, "but you do look cooked, you must be due any day. Excuse me, I will go with your uncle, who didn't tell me his name, and get a look at the facilities, I need to see what we have to help when your moment comes. Joe can stay here and you and he can talk."
"I am sorry," I said, "I am Adam, let me show you around. Amanda, are you coming or staying here with Alice?"
"I'll stay, if you don't mind. No offence," she said looking at Joe, "but we don't know Joe and I don't want to leave Alice alone."
I nodded and led Natalie through to the rest of the bunker.
"Can I get some clothes or something?" She asked, "I don't want to walk around wrapped in a towel."
"Yes of course. In this bedroom there are all sizes of clothes, find something that fits, I'll do the same and then we can go and show you around." I went and put a pair of underpants on, my standard attire, when Natalie reappeared, she was wearing dungarees that showed an appreciable amount of side boob.
"There is not a lot," I said, "I only found out after I bought the place, I had no idea this was here. There are a number of bedrooms, and a few shower rooms. There is a kitchen, or galley of you prefer, an arms room, which we have no need for, nor any real idea how to use any weapons that are in there."
When we had got to the far end Natalie looked around, "What's that?" she asked pointing to a cupboard at the end of the room.
"Oh, just a cupboard, we can have a look inside if you like."
"Yes."
I opened the door and showed her. I had found it during one of my first inspections, but dismissed it, it empty and wasn't really of much use and so I had shut the door and forgot about it.
"What is behind that curtain?" Natalie asked.
"I have no idea." I said, pulling it to one side.
"Bugger," I said. There was a large safe style door, again without a key, just a turning handle. I whirled the handle, turned the lever and pulled the door open, it was dark beyond. Feeling around I found what looked like a light switch and flicked it. Lights came on, in a sequence almost and illuminated a large corridor with a number of rooms and doors off.
"This is more like what my Dad described," Natalie said.
"I had no idea this was here," I said, what I had found seemed big enough for the residents of the house that I bought.
