Waiting for the Light
Chapter Five
The Fourth Kind
By ten that night, we were all wondering if the blue UAP was going to return. The small talk between us had died down. It was Ben, after a lengthy silent period, who spoke first, "Well, that's how these things go, here one minute and gone the next."
"Maybe... but I have a feeling," I replied, scanning the night sky.
It was at that point, I suggested we have a glass of wine and wait for a bit longer.
"Damn, sounds good to me," Gloria chimed in, and quickly added, "One glass won't hurt, whether it comes back or not, right?"
Rachael got up and took Gloria with her.
"Well, Ben, it's been interesting. I mean you do have quite a lot to report on," I said, noting his dismayed look.
"I... I mean
we,
we do have quite a bit, yes. I had hopes that tonight would be something special, if you get my drift," he sighed out, joining me in a sky search.
"I do." My reply came with the ladies return, setting our wine glasses on the table.
"So, anything?" Gloria asked.
Ben's answer came with sudden, nighttime, silence, but this time, it was different. The silence was followed by a low, humming, sound that seemed to grow in volume, and that wasn't all. Without a sound between us, we waited, expecting to see what we'd seen before. Instead, the house lights flickered once, twice, and finally went out altogether, along with all of Ben and Gloria's equipment. The humming grew louder, seemingly coming from everywhere.
"Jesus, what the hell?" Ben said, reaching to see what the problem might be with his laptop. I tapped him on the shoulder.
"Ah... Ben, you might want to look at this," I mumbled out.
Just then, Rachael dropped her wine glass, shattering it on the porch deck. Unlike before, no blue orb, UAP, or whatever was visible. What it was, was a blue-glowing light that seemed to emanate from behind and over top of us.
"Holy shi..." Ben never finished, as the blue light intensified, with an orb finally, slowly, appearing, and descending in the field...

My next conscious moment was waking up on the back deck, feeling the warmth of the sunlight. Opening my eyes to the blinding light, it took several moments to regain my sight. When I did, I found the four of us, naked. Slowly, the others came to, as I did, no less surprised at our nudity.
"What the fuck," Ben muttered out, rushing to cover his manhood.
"Too late for that Ben... what the hell happened?" Rachael asked, rubbing her eyes, as Gloria slowly sat up.
Gloria's eyes went to each of us, getting wider as she did so.
"Okay... okay, let's think this thing through," Gloria commented, sounding far too calm over the event unfolding. "We all heard the humming, right?"
Everyone nodded.
"We all saw the blue light, and the orb, right?"
Again, a unified nod.
"Okay... so we aren't crazy, number one. Secondly, at some point, we all ended up naked. Does anyone recall how
that
happened?"
An uneasy silence ensued.
"Yes or no, for Christ's sake!" Her elevated voice resulted in a collective shrug of naked shoulders. "All right then... I don't recall either, so whatever happened to us, was it the direct result of what we saw?"
No one had an answer.
"Are you saying we were abducted?" Ben asked, interrupting.
"Maybe... maybe that's exactly what happened. Not knowing who or what isn't so much an issue, as much, as why is. Don't you think?" Rachael offered.
"Christ, do you think they performed experiments on us!?" Gloria sounded off, seemingly unnerved for the first time.
A silence ensued again, as we slowly looked at one another. Gloria was the first to reach between her legs. A gasp escaped her lips when she held up fingers covered in cum. Rachael, quickly followed suit, with the same results.
"We were treated like zoo animals! They were watching us fuck!" Gloria blurted out.
"Give me a break... that's all bullshit. We weren't abducted, like Rachael suggested. We all got drunk and probably had group sex, and that's it."
"Shut up, Ben, you have no idea, any more than any of us have, about what went on," Rachael commented.
"So, what now? Anyone... any ideas?" I asked, not really expecting an answer. Oddly, Gloria tentatively raised her hand, as if she were in grade school. "Gloria?"
"I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel... I don't know how to say it. I mean we're all naked and it just feels good, you know."
Gloria had a point. None of us seemed embarrassed. Except for Ben initially, none of us had even bothered to cover up. After clearing my throat, I was about to go on, when Ben entered the conversation.
"Look, if we
were
abducted, there may be signs."
"What? Seriously, Ben?" Rachael asked.
"Yeah, there have been all kinds of reports where people have found things inserted in their bodies, or odd markings, after an abduction or loss of time."
"Holy shit," Rachael muttered out.
Ben nodded his head and went on. "Exactly, no one has an answer to what the things are, but I can tell you it's weird."
Rachael looked my way and whistled out the X-Files theme song again, making Gloria and Ben laugh.
"God, don't encourage her," I remarked. "So, what do you suggest, Ben?"
"Well, these things have been found all over, like in the neck, ears, arms, legs, hands, and feet. Guess we better all start checking," he replied.
So, we did. Well, after thirty minutes had passed, Gloria started to chuckle, and then broke out into a fit of laughter.
"What the hell has gotten into you, Gloria?" Rachael questioned.
It took a minute or two for her to calm down and answer.
"It just hit me," she replied, looking at each of us.
I looked at Ben and shrugged my shoulders.
"Are you okay, babe?" Ben asked.
"Yes... I'm fine. Don't any of you see it?" Gloria responded.
Rachael, sounding exasperated at that point, jumped in.
"Jesus, what, what are you seeing?"
"Look at us! We might as well be monkeys in the jungle. We're all naked, sitting around inspecting each other's bodies for Christ's sake!" she answered back, and broke into laughter again.
Slowly, one after the other, the three of us joined in her laughter, finally seeing her point. It ended with teary eyes, and sore belly muscles, before we went back to what we were doing. All our meticulous searching produced nothing of note, except for tiny markings, on our chests. Notably, the markings were paired, but not to our partners; meaning, Gloria's marking matched mine and Ben and Rachael were matched.
"Wow, not sure what to make of this. Gloria's triangle matches Rick's and..." Ben began to comment, before being interrupted by Rachael.
"Yeah, yeah... and yours matches mine. So what?"
"Just a thought, but what if it means we were paired?" Ben mumbled out.
"Now hold on, Ben. That's crazy, like we were some kind of lab rats?" Gloria questioned.
"Maybe... maybe not. I doubt they'd have any idea who was with who. Ben might be spot on, and I just thought of another possibility," I spoke out.
"Okay, Sherlock, what's the possibility?" Rachael asked, rolling her eyes.
"Blood type. Maybe they match by blood type, for some reason."
"Huh, never even considered that, Rick, good point,"
Ben's comment was followed by everyone announcing their blood type, disproving my possibility. We were all the same.
"Well, all I can say is that I'm bummed," Gloria said, sounding disheartened.
The three of us looked at her, waiting for her to go on.
"Geez, think about it... you have sex with someone new and you can't remember a thing!?"
Once again, her comment cracked us up.
The morning ended, and we disappeared into our own little worlds, for the balance of the day, meeting back up later. Oddly, there was embarrassment, for the first time, as we regathered, but it quickly faded. Delving back into the events of the night before, we retired to the scene of the 'crime', as Ben put it. Rachael, always eager for a drink, engaged Gloria to assist.
In contemplative thought, Ben slowly prepped a cigar and carefully lit it. Sucking on it, it sounded like a locomotive taking off, making me smile. After a last, deep, draw, Ben let out a stream of smoke, and started to talk, just as I did. I held up, but he motioned at me.
"No, no, go ahead Rick. What were you going to say?"
"Thanks... I was going to ask what your plans are now?"
Tipping his head back, he let out another long stream of cigar smoke, before answering.
"Yeah, that's a tough one, Rick. What happened last night has shaken me," he replied.
"And Gloria, what about her?" I questioned, getting a shoulder shrug.
"It may sound crazy, but nothing seems to affect her... I mean she talked forever about being a part of an abduction, and how exciting it was."
I grinned and took a drag off my cigarette.
"I get it. Rachael was excited, too, but mostly about the prospect of you and her having sex."
"Whoa, that didn't bother you?" Ben asked, suddenly sitting erect, and paying more direct attention to me.
"What good would that do? I mean whether it happened, or not, it wasn't in my control, right?"
