Authors note: Things get a little more complicated for Alex as time goes on. If you're still reading at this point then I thank you. I'll keep trying my best with the editing too, I hope you guys don't mind.

Emily squatted down over the bathroom toilet as she took the pregnancy test she'd bought a few days ago. She'd done this before with Brad but never had she ever thought she'd be doing it with her brother. She patiently waited for her stream to flow. Once she was done, she wiped herself between her legs and set the test down on the bathroom counter.
"Is it positive?" She heard Alex's voice from behind the locked door.
"We need to give it a minute for the results to show."
The whole thing had be very frustrating. The longer time past, the more anxious and worked up Alex was becoming. She finally took the test, admittedly a few days early. The worst thing about it all was that her period was late and it was really starting to worry her.
Alex was seated outside the bathroom with his back against the locked door. He wondered what it would be like to be a father. To be responsible for something so important was something he wasn't prepared for. There were ways to get rid of situations like this but even though she was his sister, he couldn't ever put her through something like that.
They'd grown up together. First as best friends to which they later grew apart. Now finally they were finding each other again. At least not in the way that they'd have ever expected. Yet Alex had to admit they were closer now than ever.
He loved her more than a brother should love his sister and he knew that Emily felt the same. There was something very comforting about that. Emily sat at the opposite side of the door. She'd always wanted to be a mother, she'd just never envisioned that it would be quite like this.
What would they do? Start a family together? Runaway and live out on the coast? She'd have to explain that she had know clue who the dad was. She supposed that was better than telling their parents that their son was going to be the father of their daughters child.
She checked her watch to see that around 5 minutes had gone by. She stood up and brushed herself off. Emily was almost too scared to look. She glanced down to see a single line reading on the test. It was negative.
"Alex?" His sister called.
He felt a thunderous pounding in the heart of his chest. "Yeah?"
"It's negative."
The relief hit him in one slow breath. It was as though the weight of everything that had been going on for the past few weeks was finally off his shoulders. Emily emerged from the bathroom with the biggest smile on her face.
"Phew."
"Maybe we outta be more careful?" He asked.
"I think so." Emily held out her hand to pass him something.
"Here. Go get some condoms from the drug store. I think that should be enough."
Alex had never purchased condoms before. This was a real landmark for him. Melissa was coming over tonight so there was short chance of Alex being able to use them. Melissa had called last night to say that she was feeling lonely without her around. So Emily invited her over for a slumber party or whatever girls called it these days.
What annoyed Alex the most was that Rose was supposed to come over that night too, but his mother had been so upset about the suspension that she'd rung up Her mom just to tell her that Alex was too busy to study this week.
He guessed it wasn't a bad thing. He'd just called off the date with Rose because she'd been giving him mixed messages. One minute they were going on a date, the next it was just as friends. She'd even laughed about the thought of them two dating.
"She just doesn't want you to know that she likes you." Emily had said.
Alex couldn't understand that. "If she likes me, then why didn't she just say?"
"I don't know?... I'm guessing that you've told her how you feel then?" Emily asked.
"Well... not quite..."
"Then you know how hard it must be for her to express how she feels. She's probably worried that you won't feel the same way."
Alex hadn't thought about it that way. Perhaps she was right, after all she was a girl, she knew how they thought. He figured that he should really talk to her when he returns to school.
Melissa arrived at the house as Alex was leaving for the drug store. He couldn't help but admire her body. Alex was a guy after all and his eyes set on her curves as she stepped out of her car. She wore tight denim shorts with a pink top and pink heels. It was like staring at an older version of Maddison. Long and thin legs, tanned with big tits and an attitude.
"Hey, big boy." She smirked at him as she slammed her car door shut.
"Suppose you're here for girls night?" He said.
"That's right. You won't be spying on us will you? I know how much you enjoyed doing that when we were younger."
"You're not the first girl to get a breast enlargement, Melissa. I think I'll pass." He brushed past her.
"Darn...it could have been fun..." She winked at him as he walked.
It was around 4pm when Alex arrived at the drug store. He'd just stepped inside when his phone started to buzz inside of his pocket. He picked it up to hear Brian's voice.
"What are you doing tonight?" He asked abruptly.
"Nothing. I'm grounded, remember?"
"Don't be a bore Alex. You're eighteen, not eleven."
"What do you suppose I do? Sneak out again? Then Rose won't ever be allowed back to study. Not that it matters, I called off the date."
Brian sighed. "I know you did, I was surprised."
"You heard?" Alex asked.
"Well yeah, dude? Rose and Mandy tell each other everything. Look, Rose likes you, she just isn't prepared to lose you, not again. Her words, not mine."
"So what? You want me to sneak out and drink in your garage again?" He asked.
"Hell yeah! But we won't be alone." Brian replied.
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is that I've got the whole of Mr Bennett's class coming over for a 'project review'."
Alex couldn't help but think that Rose wasn't in that class.
"Don't worry, Rose is coming." Brian laughed.
"Your mom and dad actually bought that? Project review?" He asked.
"Well they won't be back until Late into the morning so does it really matter?"
Alex couldn't help but grin. "I'm in."
