The Choctaw Witch, Part 3
Once the three of them came down somewhat from their collective shock over Diane's noticeable age regression, the question came up about when Vera was going to tell Peter that she wasn't going to marry him.
"I could just send him the video we made on my phone. Maybe he'd get the drift that I don't want to have a relationship with him after he watched that?"
Tom told her he thought that would come across as being too tacky. The best thing, he said, was to just go see him and explain the situation. Hopefully he'd just let them go their separate ways and be done with it.
"Maybe if you both came with me, then he'd understand how serious I am. Tom, and Diane don't you think that that would be best?"
"Umm, I guess that'd be okay. What do you think...Diane, are you up to going to see him with Vera?"
"Yeah, and he'll probably flip out a little when he sees me. But then again, maybe he won't even recognize me, I guess it'll all depend on him."

The three of them showed up at the church building around one o'clock in the afternoon. Before they went in, they each agreed that no matter what Peter said or did, they weren't going to leave unless Vera was with them.
When they walked into his office, Peter's eyes lit up as soon as he saw Vera. But because she had two other people with her, they could tell his defenses were up and he was on guard because of them being there.
"Vera, honey. I'm so glad you're here. I was hoping that you'd stop by sooner. And I'm thinking I should know who our guests are, but I'm sorry I don't remember your names. Although the young lady looks familiar. Oh, now I see the resemblance, you're related to Margaret Brewer aren't you? I'd say you're probably her daughter, right?"
"Uh, uh yes, I am. I'm Diane, mom never told you about me? That kind of hurts that she wouldn't do that. What the hell was she thinking? Tom, why do you think mom never mentioned me to anyone here at her church?"
Extending his hand in a friendly gesture, Tom smiled as he spoke...
"Hey, Peter, I'm Tom Brewer. Actually, I've visited here a few times."
"Y'know, Tom, now that you mention it, I do remember you. Thank you for visiting with us when you did. And thank you for bringing my Vera back to me, too."
"Yeah, Peter, about that. I'm afraid I'm not
your
Vera anymore. I just wanted to..."
"Vera, I don't think it's a good idea to talk about our private affairs in front of others. Why don't you and I just sit down, and I'm sure we can work out any problems we've got with each other. I've just been..."
"Peter, you've got to listen to me..."
"Hey Vera, I hate to cut you off, but I've got an appointment to do some counseling with one of our parishioners about right now, but I can see she's late for our meeting."
"Well then, that gives me time to tell you what I need to, Peter. We're through. Kaput. Finished. Done. I'm not sure how else to get this out there. But we're not going to be getting married. And as a matter of fact, I'm not going to be attending church here anymore, either."
With the bomb that she'd dropped on Peter right then, he did his best to not let what she'd told him get in the way of what was on his mind.
"Vera, I can see you're upset about something. But, no matter what it is, I think we can definitely work out any problems between us. Really we can, honey."
"Peter, I'm going to try and make this as simple for you as I know how. You and I are through, and there isn't any
fucking
way that we're getting back together again!!"
"VERA, don't curse in the church building. I'm not sure what in the world is going on here, but I want you to know that you can tell me anything, and I'll try to be as understanding as I know how. Okay, you texted me and told me you weren't going out of town with me. So, once I knew that, I decided to stay home myself. If you didn't come along, I knew the trip wouldn't even be worth it. I want you in my life, I don't know any other way to say it. Please, give us a chance. I promise to forgive you for anything bad you've done. At least, I'll really try to, honey. But you throwing those F-bombs at me, well, that's something that I don't think can be tolerated, Vera."
Stepping up right next to her, Vera put her arm around Diane's shoulder, and then drew her face into hers. Standing right in front of his desk, making sure that Peter wasn't going to miss what she did next, Vera placed her lips about a half inch from Diane's...
"Okay, let's move on then. Tell me...can this be tolerated, Peter?"
That's when she put a lip lock on her, that had the both of them reeling. As Vera took about the next thirty seconds to give her a jaw-dropping open-mouth kiss, directly in front of her former fiancΓ©.
Diane was sure if that didn't piss him off, and make him want to throw the three of them out, then what would? Finally, Vera ended the kiss.
"And, she even kisses a whole fucking lot better than you do, Peter. But if that's not enough to convince you that I mean that we're through, well, I've got this video here..."
"Vera, why don't you just leave now. I think you've made your point. If you're trying to break my heart, then consider it done. Just go...please?"
On their way out, they saw the congregant who was going to be meeting with Peter for counseling. It was Olivia Pratt, Diane's/Margaret's old friend.
"Oh hi, Vera, it's nice to see you today, how have you been lately?"
"Fuck off bitch!!"
"WHAT?? Did you say what I thought you did? Vera Ellen Preston I can't believe that you'd say something like that to me."
"Well then, I'll repeat myself just for your fucking benefit.
Fuck off you fucking bitch
