Mel and Jessie hung out together so much, that Jason initially felt that his bratty little sister was going to be permanently out of his hair. But that isn't how it actually worked out. Mel, being slightly older than Jessie ending up becoming the Alpha out of the two. Whenever Jessie crossed a line that upset her brother, Mel would immediately call her out on it and keep her in check. With Mel growing up as an only child, she had a different appreciation for the value of siblings. Mel noticed quickly that Jason was very protective of his little sister. So she became a buffer that smoothed over Jessica's rough edges. Although Jason was not yet a teenager, he was astute enough to recognize what was advantageous to him. As a result, he warmed to Melanie and quickly got over his initial resentment. The three of them became practically inseparable, so much so that their four parents started joking about them being the 'Three Musketeers'.
And then puberty struck. Jason started really taking an interest in the opposite gender when the teenage changes began to have an effect on him. Jason had always loved his little sister, in spite of the times when she got under his skin. He had seen his friends bicker with their siblings over insignificant and often stupid things. He actually counted himself lucky that his relationship with Jessie was a hell of a lot better than that, even with their differences. But one day he started to really notice how beautiful his sister was and it shook him to his core. Suddenly, she occupied his every waking thought. Whenever she went somewhere without him, he would worry and fret about her safety, being restless until she was home safe.
The first time that Jessie had given him an innocent hug and he felt an arousal, he almost started a fight with her. The pain and hurt in Jessie's eyes ripped his heart right out of his chest. She was just trying to be a good sister to him, but in his own mind it was his own fault that he was a sick perverted animal. He was not consciously aware that he was already very much in love with her. After that, he managed to get some measure of control over himself and didn't get turned on by simple hugs. But he had to get Jessie to understand that her hugs needed to be kept short and sweet. He gently took her aside one day and tried to reason with her. He tried to explain that now that they were older, other people might get the wrong impression about their affectionate behaviour. He especially didn't want the other kids at school to start rumors and bully her. Mentioning this to Jessie made good sense to her and seemed to get where he was coming from. But at home and in front of Mel, she continued to linger longer with her sisterly affection.
When Mel gave Jason hugs, his body reacted in a similar fashion. But Mel was also a problem because she was Jessie's best friend. That made her off limits and untouchable as well. There wasn't any logical way that they could date or become a couple without upsetting the balance of the relationship enjoyed by the three of them. Jason was never so callous as to totally disassociate himself from the girls, but he did put a little more distance between himself and his fairer friends. Mel happened to mention the change in Jason when she and Jessie had one of their sleepovers. Jessie told Mel that she was well aware of it and that it was a new reality that they would have to accept and deal with. With the three of them having been so close, this new reality really put a strain on their friendship. But Mel hung in there and never let Jason know that she was feeling just as hurt as Jessie felt. Both of the girls had each other to lean on and life progressed onward.
Now that Jessie had entered his thoughts, Jason suddenly realized that he needed to go out and purchase the gift that he had found for her. Jason had decided to visit several different Jewelry stores and stumbled across a trinket that was a perfect gift for his sister. It was a 14 carat gold necklace with a Celtic knot as a pendant. Centered in the middle of the knot was a real emerald. When the light struck the jewel just right, it reminded him of his sister's gorgeous green eyes. It was also her birthstone, so it was an absolutely perfect gift.
Jessica's eighteenth birthday just happened to be falling on a Saturday this year. It conveniently made for a weekend birthday party. The month was May and Jason had already finished taking his finals for this year's courses. Since he now lived in an apartment off campus, he stayed in Nacogdoches year round for the most part. He had only returned to live at home during the summer after his first year at University. Again, his attraction to his sister made things complicated for him during that break. So he decided that he needed to approach his parents about the idea of Off Campus Housing so that he could live year round in Nacogdoches.
He had managed to get a part time job working the line at the A. L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport. He had also made several friends there, including a certified flight instructor who offered him free flight lessons. He made a deal with his parents that if they would agree to cover his rent, that he would pay all of the rest of his bills such as the electric and internet. The end result was cheaper for his parents than what the dorm had cost them. That made his father very happy, so his parents readily agreed.
Jason quickly completed the requirements to become a certified Private Pilot SEL (single engine land). The FBO (fixed base operator) that he worked for offered to let him rent either a Cessna Skyhawk or Skylane for free as long as he purchased all of the fuel and returned it to the line with full tanks when he was done. He booked the model 182 for the entire weekend of his sister's birthday.

On Saturday morning, Jason made an early departure direct to Weiser Airport, which was just a mile or two from the Stewart residence in Satsuma. The flight was just a little more than an hour and his main gear chirped on the asphalt runway at almost straight up 10:00am local time. He had just finished tying down the airplane and getting his baggage out when his father pulled up in his sedan. Jason set down his bags as his father exited the car. As his dad walked around the door, Jason extended his hand in greeting.
His dad initially grabbed his hand and shook it for a second. Then he exclaimed, "Screw that nonsense!" He then pulled hard on Jason's hand unbalancing him as he grasped him in a huge bear hug. "God, I've missed you, son!"
"Yeah, I've missed you too, Dad." Jason said as he wrapped his arms around his father and returned the affection.
"I'm so proud of you! I took a few flying lessons when I got out of the service, but all I ever did was solo a Piper Cub. Look at you! A fully licensed Pilot! You realize, of course, that before you fly back to Nack that you're going to have to give everyone a lap around the pasture. Especially your little sister. She's never been up in a plane before and she took a great interest in it when she heard about you taking lessons. Speaking of your little sister, she has been on pins and needles ever since you told your mother that you were going to be here for her birthday. It is going to be nice to see her acting like her old self again. She's been in an absolute funk for the past two years because you never come back home anymore. I can tell that she really misses you. Let's get your gear in the car and get you home. Your mom has refused to let any of us change up anything in your old room. It's still exactly the way that you left it."
The short drive down Hempstead Highway and up Jackrabbit Road to their neighborhood was uneventful. Mom was waiting at the front door when they pulled into the driveway and parked. As soon as he opened the door to the car, Dad said, "Go see your mother, I'll get your bags."
As he walked up the sidewalk, Jessica joined her mother at the door, waiting expectantly. Jason's eyes were immediately drawn to his sister's well proportioned 5'7" frame. Her long straight raven black hair accented her emerald green eyes. Her rich red lips framed a perfect smile. Her 'C' cup breasts strained against the blouse that she was wearing. She really should have chosen a shirt at least one size larger because the one she was wearing made her breasts look larger than they actually were. Her eyes were slightly damp and sparkled in the morning sun. She wore no makeup at all, and truth be told, really didn't need any. Her beauty was totally natural. Her smile on her oval face was captivating.
