Sun, Sea and Sex.
This is a repost of an old story.
Young man spends a month with his aunt at her villa in Cyprus.
I sat at the kitchen table listening to my parents chattering about their holiday for this year. There was one thing I knew for sure, their plans didn't include me. This was no surprise really. The first part of the holiday was a cruise, the second part would be spent in Barcelona. The cruise was paid for by my Dad's firm, it was their way of rewarding him for his efforts over the last year. Dad very smartly booked two weeks of leave for them to spend time in Barcelona. As it would be their 21
st
wedding anniversary. This was all they had talked about for weeks. I could tell Mum was already mentally planning what clothes she would take with her, fancy ball gowns were sure to be included.
My main concern was where the hell I would be going. Last year I threw a party when they went away, when they arrived home the place was as spotless as when they left. It was a day later my Mum discovered one of her bone china figurines had been broken, to top it off some bastard stole a bottle of my Dad's whisky. A bottle of whisky that was valued at three hundred pounds.
My parents were 45 years old. Dad worked for a company selling heavy industrial machinery. Mum was an office manager for a firm of solicitors. Dad was slightly more relaxed than my Mum, at the weekend he dressed in jeans and t-shirts, unless they were going out. Mum was always smartly dressed, not a hair out of place. Sitting looking at her as they talked Mum was wearing her work clothes, a crisp white blouse and dark blue skirt. Both were high quality, Mum never wore cheap clothing, except for when she worked in the garden.
Dad was the same when he dressed for work, crisp white shirt, smart suit and matching tie. If they ever went out at the weekend they were always smartly dressed. My Mum was a neat freak, I think she had OCD. Everything had to be perfect, if it wasn't she would spot it. Hence how they found out about me having a party. I decided to ask the inevitable, best to get it out of the way.
"I'm really pleased for you guys, I hope you have a great time. I promise there will be no parties this year." Both of them stopped talking and looked at me.
"Well, yes. There will be no parties as you are not staying here alone." Mum stated, then looked at my Dad.
"Last year showed we cannot trust you, Darren. For that reason you are going to spend a month with your aunt Nicola, in Cyprus."
Cyprus sounded better than some options I could think of, I tried not to look too excited. At least I had a month in the sun. Maybe I could get laid as well. I haven't had any decent sex since breaking up with my girlfriend, Chloe. We broke up when Chloe left for university, we both knew a long distance relationship was never going to work. Chloe was a great bed partner, I envied whoever she would get together with at university.
Aunt Nicola was Mum's younger sister, I tried to remember the last time I saw her. I think it was at some boring family party for an elderly relative, a relative I had never met before that night.
"We will take you to the airport, your aunt will meet you at the other end. She is doing this as a favour to me, please do not give her any reason to call me and complain. If you cause trouble for her there will be serious consequences." Mum looked straight at me as she spoke.
"Okay, Mum. I get it no trouble." My Dad sat and nodded his head in agreement. I excused myself and went to my room. I wanted to do some research on Cyprus, also I needed to get away from all the talk of the cruise.
I checked out Cyprus, Ayia Napa seemed to be the party capital of the island. I hoped my aunt lived close to it. I had a month before my parents took me to the airport, I spent the month checking out the hot spots for parties, and girls on the island.
My Mum was preparing the clothes her and my Dad would be taking. There was my Dad's tux and a ball gown my Mum had recently purchased. Neither my Dad or I asked how much it cost, we both knew better than that. Mum paid for her outfits, therefore she could spend what she liked.
The day arrived for me to be taken to the airport. Dad drove as Mum reminded me of how to behave, by the time we got to the terminal I was desperate to get away. No such luck, Mum and Dad insisted on walking into the airport with me.
"Now remember what I told you, Darren. Do not give your aunt a reason to call me during or after the holiday." Mum reminded me for about the thousandth time.
"Yes Mum." I sighed. Mum was about to continue with her lecture when they called my flight.
The plane was surprisingly quiet, there were several empty seats. Apart from a group of girls about my age, the rest of the passengers were older. I ate the food that was bought round, it wasn't much but better than nothing at all. The in-flight movie did not interest me, so I plugged in my headphones and listened to music on my phone. The cabin attendant woke me as we prepared to land.
Larnaca airport is a decent sized place, I was surprised at how well laid out it was. As I waited for my luggage I could see masses of people here to meet visitors, I looked around then realised I had no idea what my aunt looked like. I stood looking at the crowd, there were a few hot women I hoped were my aunt, then she stepped forward and called out my name.
I looked at the woman. She had dirty blonde hair tied back in a ponytail, she was wearing a long and very unflattering summer dress.
"You must be Darren?" She asked.
I nodded. "You must be Nicola?"
"Yep. Come on, let's get out of here." I followed my aunt outside to her car. Again another surprise, she drove a Ford Focus ST. I put my bag in the boot and sat in the car.
"How was your flight?" Nicola asked as she pulled out of the car park.
"Pretty quiet. A Lot of empty seats."
"Unusual for this time of year. So, tell me, what did you do that you're not allowed at home on your own?"
"I held a party when Mum and Dad were on holiday last year." Nicola looked shocked. "It wasn't so much the party that did it. One of Mum's bone china figurines got broken, and someone stole a bottle of Dad's whisky."
"Did you have to replace them?"
"Yeah. I had some luck with the figurines, I found an identical set at a car boot sale. The lady said I could have both for five pounds, I have never handed over money so quickly." We both laughed. "I found out who took the whisky. I gave him a choice, replace it or I would kick seven colours out of him. He gave me the money two days later."
Nicola nodded, she gunned the car as we accelerated past a slow truck. I was looking out of the window taking in the scenery, and I spotted a sign for Ayia Napa. Just as I started to think it could be fun spending time there, Nicola turned off onto a small road. We drove for several miles before I spoke.
