Paul Whitmore and his beloved wife, Whitney Jennings-Whitmore of Amarillo, Texas, are having a special day. The tall, silver-haired and blue-eyed Texan man and his tall, curvaceous, blonde-and-silver-haired, green-eyed wife are enjoying the company of their former foster daughter Anjali Shaji and her fiancé Suleiman Aboubacar. The curvy, Kerala-born young Indian-American woman and her tall, handsome African Muslim fiancé look great together. The two of them met at the University of Houston. Paul and Whitney are throwing them a party. Time for the black male/Indian female couple to enjoy some of that Texan hospitality...
"It's good to be home," Anjali Shaji said as she walked around the Whitmore farm, located on the outskirts of Amarillo, Texas. The curvy, bronze-skinned and dark-haired young Indian American woman hadn't seen her former home in ages. When Anjali's parents died during a clash between Christians and Hindus in Kerala, India, she ended up at the mercy of the United Nations. That's how Anjali ended up in Texas, where the foster care system placed her with Paul and Whitney Whitmore. That was a very long time ago.
"You are always welcome here, dear," Whitney Jennings-Whitmore said, and she gave Anjali a motherly smile. Anjali hugged Whitney gently. The tall, curvy Texan matriarch's hair was more silver than blonde now, but she was still the same woman who cared for Anjali and protected her in the old days. Standing nearby, Anjali's fiancé Suleiman Aboubacar nodded understandingly. The big and tall black Muslim man, a native of Burkina Faso, is quite protected of his favorite Indian lady.
"Interesting place you have here," Suleiman Aboubacar said to Paul, as the tall older Texan man quietly watched him. Paul smiled and nodded as he gave Suleiman the grand tour. The Whitmore farm was vast, more than three hundred acres, and housed stables with horses, bovines and the like. Paul and Whitney maintained the place themselves, though they occasionally rented it out to folks for weddings, camps and the like. Got to earn that cash any way they can now that they're retired from their jobs with the City of Amarillo.
"Thank you, young man, Anjali loves the place, and I am hoping you will as well," Paul said with a smile. Suleiman grinned as he considered the Whitmore farm. He'd grown up on a farm in Banfora, a commune of about a hundred and twenty thousand people in the nation of Burkina Faso. In the town of Banfora, most people were farmers and both Christians and Muslims got along. Suleiman's parents, Amir and Faduma Aboubacar, sent him to study in the U.S. of A. While attending the University of Houston, Suleiman met Anjali, and five years later, they were engaged to be married. How cool was that?
"Thank you, Anjali has lots of love for you and Whitney," Suleiman said politely, and Paul nodded. Over the years, Paul and Whitney kept in touch with those they once took care of. Jayson Braxton, Chau Nguyen, Bilal Ahmad, Halima Ahmad, Yasmin Camara, Ahmed Camara and many others hold a special place in Paul and Whitney's hearts. Black and white and brown and everything in between, makes no difference to them. At the end of the day, family is quite simply family
"Suleiman, Anjali told us that you're bisexual? She fully supports you, we taught her to be open-minded," Paul said slyly. Suleiman frowned, for this wasn't his favorite subject. The big and tall black Muslim man looked at the tall older white Texan man. Suleiman recalled the day he decided to come out as bisexual to Anjali. Prior to meeting Anjali, Suleiman had lots of fun with big-booty girls and handsome men of all races, but he'd never fallen in love with anyone before. Yeah, for Suleiman, Anjali is quite simply the love of his life.
"Yes, I am bisexual and yes, Anjali accepts me, what's your interest in all of this?" Suleiman asked, and Paul grinned. Gently putting his arm around Suleiman's broad shoulders, Paul led the burly young black Muslim man to the stables. They walked past the colts, the mares, the bulls and the cows. Paul, a true Texan, has grown up on the Whitmore farm as did his father and grandfather before him. It was on this farm that Paul discovered his sexuality. Long before Paul met Whitney, he would mess around with cowboys as well as lusty waitresses from local bars. No shame in the bisexual Texan man's game.
"I am bisexual too, my wife Whitney is supportive, and we want you and Anjali to enjoy the same bliss that we do," Paul said to Suleiman. To say that the young black Muslim man was shocked by this revelation would have been an understatement. Paul smiled and Suleiman nodded slowly. The younger man had a lot of questions, and the older man did his very best to answer them. Paul didn't mind answering all of Suleiman's questions. After all, what else could one do for family?
"Aren't they awesome?" Anjali asked Suleiman as they dined with Paul and Whitney later that evening. The young black Muslim man and the young Indian American woman smiled at the older white couple. They dined on roast pork, mash potatoes, gravy, and washed it down with red wine. Suleiman abstained from the wine and drank Pepsi instead, which was fine. The four of them finished their meal and then went to the living room to banter and watch TV. That's how it all began...
