David and I had been stuck with our uncle and his third wife when our parents died. And although their death had brought David and I together it had also devastated us. Not only had we lost them but we also lost all our friends when we had to move to our uncle's house, over 3 hours away from where we had previously lived, so we knew we need to stick with each other.
Our uncle never paid much attention to us. He had a large house and his bedroom and bathroom were not on the same floor as David's and mine so it was easy to avoid them. Neither David or I minded, for we couldn't care less about our uncle.
David and I had been close since we were little kids. We had never been the typical brother and sister who constantly fought and teased. David had acted as the mature older brother who just knew he was supposed to protect me and look out for me. But I never appreciated it as much as I should have; at least not until last summer.

"Hope! Get your lazy ass out of bed! We have to go now!" David yelled down the hallway from his room. "I'm leaving in 3 minutes!"
She popped out of room, ready to go.
"Calm down Davie, I'm ready." She said as she struck a pose.
David looked at his sister's body and shook his head to quickly get rid of the thoughts that started to form.
"Let's just go."
There was only a month left of school. Which meant graduation, college, and summer for Hope; and all three constantly stressed her out. She had been meaning to ask David about what college to go to, since he had gone through the same thing a few years ago and was now doing it again as he was trying to pick out a law school. But she always felt strange for some reason whenever she brought it up.
"What's wrong now?" David asked his sister as he drove her to school.
"Nothing." She sighed.
"That doesn't sound like nothing."
"Nothing I can talk to you about."
"You talk to me about everything."
"This is more...personal." She told his as they pulled into the line of cars at the school.
"It's about Peter isn't it?"
"Yeah, it's nothing really, don't worry about." She jumped out of the car, only to be met seconds later by Peter, who took her hand as they walked into the school.
David absolutely hated Peter. Hope had started seeing him a couple weeks into the school year and David had instantly wanted him gone. Peter was always pressuring Hope and David knew it. He wanted to have sex with her and that was it, so David was surprised he had stuck around this long.
~~~
Hope walk in the hallway with Peter, hand in hand. They had enough time to stop at her locker and talk.
"So I was thinking, that maybe tonight you could come over for a bit; my parents are going out."
"I don't know, maybe."
"Come on Hope, don't you think it's time we had sex?"
"No I don't think there is a time Peter, why do you have to make it such a big deal?"
"Me make it a big deal? Jeez Hope you make it out like its some precious thing, everyone does it."
"No everyone doesn't, why do you always have to be such a dick!" She slammed her locker shut. "I think we're done here." And walked off as the bell rang.
~~~
"Did I do the right thing Davie? I mean I know I didn't need the pressure but I still liked him. Maybe I should call him back and tell him I changed my mind?"
"Don't call him Hope, he is a dick for just wanting to get in your pants."
She cuddled up closer to her big brother as they sat on the couch and aimlessly flipped through channels on the TV. They talked about nothing in particular; they just enjoyed each other's company. He shifted as he started to imagine his sister in a less than brotherly way and he didn't want her to notice the effect it had on him.
"I think I'm just going to go to bed." She stood and stretched out in front of him. Her shirt rode up a little revealing her flat stomach and her breasts grew bigger with her intake of breath. She's your sister for fuck's sake! David yelled at himself as he watched her. He had started to notice her body when she had hit puberty and all the other guys had noticed her too, he had quickly become jealous of the guys that hung around; secretly wishing he could be one of them. He loved how small she was. At only 5'1, he towered over her at 6'3. "Night David." She said as she leaned down and kissed his cheek. He stiffened and thankfully she didn't notice as she walked off to her room.

It had to be about 3 in the morning when Hope slowly opened the door to her brother's room. She quietly made her way over to his bed and gently tapped him on the shoulder.
" Davie? She gripped his shoulder and shook it a little harder. "Davie are you awake?"
He groaned and slowly opened his eyes.
"What do you want?" He asked but then saw she was crying. "Hope what's wrong?" He sat up quickly and pulled her closer.
"I had the dream again."
The dream she was referring to was the one of their parent's death. She had been in the car with them, witnessed them die, and had somehow survived the horrific crash. She even had a scar to prove it.
" Oh honey come here." He hugged her for the time in a while. They had always been very close but lately his feelings for her had been harder to hide so he had forced himself to give her a little more space.
"I can't sleep, it's so horrible. I wish I never had to see it again."
Luckily she had not had the dream in a while, it had to have been a year at the least. But when their parents had dies almost six years ago she had had it every night.
She tucked her head deeper into his chest, hoping he wouldn't let her go. But he did eventually and they just stared at each other for a moment.
"Davie can I stay in here? Just for tonight, please." Her green eyes pleaded with him and he sighed.
"Just tonight." He said as moved over and let her under the covers.
They used to sleep together in his bed every night when they were little but as David had grown older he had started bringing girls home and well... you know.
Hope curled herself up next to him and he embraced her under his larger body. He was pinching himself already, he shouldn't have let her in the bed, not with the way he had been thinking about her. He took a deep breath, which only made things worse; he smelt the sweet smell of his younger sister, mint chocolate and spring flowers.
"David?"
"Yeah?"
She turned around so that their faces were inches apart.
"Do you ever think about mom and dad?"
"Of course, all the time. Don't you?"
"Yeah but I'm just afraid I'm going to forget them."
"You won't, you loved them and just because they're a memory doesn't mean you still can't love them."
"I guess." She said as she ducked her head down.
He took her chin in his hand and forced her to look at him. She found herself melting into his brilliant blue eyes as he held her face gently.
"Weebit." He said referring to the old nickname he used to call her because of her height. " It'll be alright, we still have each other and Uncle Tom." They laughed at the last part. " Okay not Uncle Tom but each other."
