Just like that, Henry and Maya were on their own. Being home alone was nothing new to the twins. Though they are still in high school, they turned 18 a month ago and are only 2 months away from graduation. The two are very mature for their age and have been fairly self reliant for a number of years now as young adults.
Growing up with a father in the military, the twins struggled to make friends, as moving from one base to another every four years left them with each other as their only real companions.
Their mother worked hard to keep the household in order while their dad served the country for up to a year at a time overseas. She didn't let that stop her from running her own small business from home. As Henry and Maya gained independence, her business flourished, allowing her to travel more to meet clients. Now, she needs to spend two weeks in Houston working with a new startup. With their dad no longer overseas and just a year away from retirement, he's currently conducting training at Fort McCoy for another month.
After the front door closed behind their mother, the twins resumed their usual morning routines before school.
Maya, not much of a morning person, doesn't do anything until she takes a hot shower. She loves the warm steam on her face; for her, it's like caffeine for others. A fan of warm weather and summer tanning, she has despised living in Fort Carson, Colorado, for the past three years. Before that, they were in sunny California, where Maya practically lived in her bikini. She spent nearly every day on the beach, enjoying the attention from guys and secretly relishing the thrill of showing a little more skin than usual. Those days have unfortunately gone by and all she is left with is her hot shower, and the sauna she begged to have installed at the new house when she found out they were moving to the mountains.
As Maya showers, Henry makes himself breakfast. A protein filled breakfast burrito and a shake for later. Henry wouldnt call himself a meathead-that isnt his thing, but will admit to being a gym rat. The gym was his escape. His tall and lean physique made him every coaches dream player, being a 4 year varsity baseball and football star. Even though Henry works hard for his great strength, what he would say he's most proud of is his strategic brain and quick wit. No matter what he is doing, Henry always feels like he is 5 steps ahead with his cunning- and that usually is because he is.
Maya and Henry are both exceptional athletes and have the bodies to prove it. Maya has a graceful, toned body from gymnastics and swimming, with strong legs and a firm rounded ass. Her long blonde hair is often in a sleek ponytail, framing her heart-shaped face. Henry, tall and athletic, has broad shoulders and strong arms from playing football and baseball. His muscular build features a chiseled jawline and a confident stance, with short, tousled hair and intense eyes.
Henry finishes his meal and heads up the stairs to grab a change of clothes. Suddenly, he collides with Maya, who just stepped out of the shower and was on her way to her room. She was loosely wrapped in a towel, which quickly slips away from the force of their collision. As Henry fell on Maya he tried to keep his arms out to catch himself. Instead his hands fell right onto Maya's perky breasts, still wet from the shower. Henry did his best to divert his eyes and give some modesty to his vulnerable sister. The two quickly separated to finish getting ready for school without even acknowledging each other. That was at least until they were forced to drive together.
At first the awkward silence continued, but Maya did her best to kill the awkward with a dig at her brother.
