Please go easy on me, this is my first attempt at writing anything, not just an erotic story. I will take any kind of constructive criticism, but let's try to show some level of politeness. If the story is liked or a lot of readers ask me to continue, I will certainly try.
Like all Literotica stories, all characters engaged in sexual activity are 18 or older.

Chapter 1
As she quickly drove home after leaving work early, 36 year old Emma Wells couldn't help but be pissed off at her forgetful 38 year old husband Thomas. While on lunch break, she received a text from her 18 year old son Jake. It said that Tom wasn't home yet to take his son to the first travel soccer practice for the new team he just joined. The family had recently moved across the state after Tom received a promotion at work. Emma thought about the phone conversation, or more accurately the phone argument, that she just had with Tom.
"Hello, dear. What's up?" Tom answered.
Emma replied, "What the hell took you so long to answer?"
"Um, I'm at work. Why does it sound like you're in the car? Aren't you supposed to be at work?"
"Think about it, Tom! Are you forgetting something again?"
"I...I don't think so."
"I'm rushing home to take our son to his first soccer practice here, something you promised him you would do!"
"Oh shit! Em, I am so sorry. I got tied up on a new..."
"I don't care, Tom! You promised him! You know how important this is to him. Even with us moving across the state, he was able to make it on to a top tier team here. He wanted to make a good impression on his new teammates. You know, guys that he doesn't know yet!"
"I'll make it up to him, I promise."
"At this point, your promises mean nothing anymore. How many times have you promised to do things for Jake or with him, only for something else to get in the way? It's way more than you can remember, that's for sure!"
"Hey, that's not fair! I can't help it if I'm forget..."
"Yes, you can! If you would get with the modern age and get a smartphone like I've asked you to do before, you could set reminders for yourself. But no, you don't want to give up your precious flip phone."
"Emma, what can I do?"
"There's nothing you can do anymore. We all agreed that your promotion and us moving was a good thing, but I can see nothing is going to change. So, don't worry, Tom. I will fix your mistake with Jake...again." Emma angrily hit the disconnect button on her steering wheel.
Five minutes later, Emma started honking her car horn before she even pulled up to the house, but saw that Jake was already waiting outside for her. He yanked open the back door and threw his gear bag in the back seat, then jumped in next to her. As she quickly pulled away from the house, he looked at her and said, "Thanks, Mom."
She looked back at him, "You know I would do anything for you, honey." He flashed his charming smile at her, which helped to melt her anger with Tom, but only slightly. When she saw Jake bouncing his leg and look at the digital time on the dash, she laid a hand on his thigh and said, "I'll get you there on time, don't worry."

Chapter 2
Emma pulled into the field parking lot with only a few minutes to spare, giving Jake enough time to grab his bag and run over to his team. He gave her a quick hug and kiss on the cheek before jumping out of the car, making Emma's cheeks blush. She watched him run up to his coaches, seeing the strong muscles in his legs flex as he ran. She continued watching as Jake was introduced to his new teammates, who all seemed welcoming to him.
Emma grabbed her book from her purse to read the newest thriller novel she had just bought. She set the seat back a little to get comfortable and opened her book. When she was done reading a couple chapters, she looked up to see how Jake was doing on the field and was instantly wide eyed. Emma thought to herself 'Holy shit, they're playing shirts and skins!' She started to feel a little flushed as she watched the muscular and young shirtless men run around on the field. It was then that she noticed Jake was one of them, playing his usual spot at left wing, which put him on the side of the field closest to her car. She swallowed nervously as she observed her 6'2" son run around with a shirt on. Jake had the lean muscle build of a long distance runner, but with legs built like an Olympic level sprinter. Playing soccer since he was 5 years old, Jake never truly had any extra body fat on him, especially as he neared his teen years and started making travel teams.
Finally feeling her eyes start straining, Emma realized she had been staring at her son, so she blinked rapidly to refresh her eyes and said out loud, "Get a grip, girl! That's your baby boy." But her loins were whispering other thoughts into her head, thoughts like 'He definitely isn't a baby anymore.' Seeing her son not as a boy anymore, but as a man, Emma reflected on the past 18 years and even further back.

Chapter 3
Emma Brenner grew up as a bit of a tomboy in a midsize Midwestern town, wanting to be an athlete since she was a toddler. Through her childhood, Emma tried all kinds of different sports, from team sports like softball and volleyball to individual sports like long distance running and tennis. And long distance running is what she excelled at, running track and field as a preteen then devoting herself to 5K cross country runs, 10K organized runs, and all the way up to half marathons. With her dedication to running, there was no question that the successful runner would make her high school's varsity cross country team as a freshman. She excelled through her high school years, far surpassing almost all of her competitors.
Due to her devotion to competitive running and her desire to get better every day, Emma focused only on that and studying instead of boys. Sure, she had male friends in high school, but she wasn't interested in dating. That is until her family had new neighbors move in right next door only a couple days before her graduation. This family included a son two years older than Emma, a shy young man that immediately got her attention. She had just turned 18 and with high school nearing its end, her focus shifted to her growing attraction to the new neighbor. And that neighbor, Thomas Wells, certainly was attracted to her as well. They instantly hit it off and went on their first date the weekend after she graduated. Their feelings grew stronger every passing moment, and during the summer the two virgins equally decided to consummate their relationship. Little did they think how much that would change their lives.
Being responsible young adults, they played it safe. Emma started taking the pill. Yet the pull to become sexually intimate became too strong for them to wait for the pill to become truly effective. Just to play it safe, Tom wore a condom, but the stars were not aligned for them. Unknown to them, the condom broke. They only became aware of that when they both felt his hot seed flood her vaginal walls. They looked at each other in shock as he pulled out. Knowing that the possibility was there, they waited for Emma to get her period before they became intimate again. And they continued to wait until she was two weeks late. They knew before she even took a pregnancy test which only confirmed the truth. The young couple were going to be parents.
Afraid to hide it from their families, the couple sat down with both sets of parents and told them. To their surprise, all four parents were happy for them and agreed to help them in any way they could. Tom continued to attend college, which thankfully was close enough for him to be near the future mother of his child. And Emma gave it no thought at all, she was going to college, even as her belly grew. She went to the same college as Tom, so eventually they hoped to have a place of their own. Emma had an easy pregnancy until the final month when she started to not feel right. Thinking it was the stress of the upcoming birth and her studies to be a physical therapist, Emma ignored her feelings at first. Later that night, it soon became apparent there was more to it than stress. It was quickly determined that the umbilical cord was wrapping around the baby's neck. Emma went into an immediate emergency C-section, giving birth to the couple's son Jacob three weeks early. Mom and baby stayed in the hospital for a few weeks, but were finally able to go home...to the huge welcome home party attended by the new grandparents and many friends.

Chapter 4
Jacob, or Jake as he soon was known as, was an active toddler and kept Emma and Tom on their toes. When he was 3 his parents married in a small ceremony with close family and friends attending. And during a stroll in a local park with his parents when he was just short of 5 years old, they came upon a teenage soccer game. Jake took one look and was hooked, begging his parents to let him start playing soccer. And it quickly became apparent he was a natural at it, getting his Mom's athletic genes.
His parents devoted themselves to helping Jake in any way, but after a few years, Tom started to focus more on his job as he slowly moved his way up the ranks at a biolab equipment manufacturing company. And it came down to Emma to get Jake to his practices and games, even learning the sport to help coach a couple years. When Jake turned 10, he asked Emma if she could just be a spectator. It hurt her emotionally a little to not help coach him anymore, but took to being one of the team moms immediately, even though she was a lot younger than most of the other moms. Tom still came to some games, but nowhere near all of them like Emma. As Jake moved up to travel soccer and played better every season, it became a point of contention between the couple that Tom devoted more time to his job than to his family. He was always a little forgetful, but it became worse as he aged. It wasn't an illness that caused it, just his drive to be better at his job. And as a result of that, the couple started pulling apart even though they still loved each other. While they still slept in the same bed, they became more like roommates than a married couple.
