DANIEL
I walked into the house from soccer practice to find my Mom, Amelia, crying on the couch, her sobs alarming in the quiet house. I dropped my bag and immediately went to her, my green eyes filled with concern as I pushed my curly red hair out of them.
"Mom! What's going on?" I asked and she held up the papers in her hand. They were medical papers, saying dad had gotten a vasectomy. That wasn't right, they had been trying for another kid for years, and these papers were old. Realization dawned on me, dad had been lying to mom about trying to get pregnant.
"Damn him, mom I'm so sorry." I whispered and hugged her, running my hands through her auburn hair as she sobbed into my chest. Her tears soaked into my jersey but I held her till she stopped crying and pulled away.
"Daniel, I don't want to see him. I cant stand that he dis this to me." She whispered and I nodded as I heard dad's car pull up outside. I walked to the door and grabbed the baseball bat we kept there and stormed outside. I'd scare him off for now, that would give mom some space.
"Fucking liar!" I roared at my dad, Adrian. He cursed and stumbled away from me as he registered the bat in my hands.
"Danny! What the hell!?" Adrian yelled as he scrambled back to his car, backing up to the door and scrabbling to get it unlocked.
"How long were you going to LITERALLY screw mom over?" I asked and his eyes went wide. He cursed again as I came toward him threateningly. I wasn't going to hurt him, but scaring him away was my top priority.
"Go stay with one of my uncles you useless fuck!" I snapped and flipped him off as he drove away. I went back in and put the bat away, finding mom in the kitchen pouring a glass of wine. I went around the counter and rubbed her shoulders as she took a long drink from the glass.
"He won't be back any time soon. You can just do whatever for right now." I told her and she began to cry again. Her arms wrapped around me and I held her tight while she sobbed.
"He told me we could have another baby!" She sobbed angrily and my heart broke for her. How could he do this? Besides, she was so beautiful when she was pregnant. I had seen her maternity pictures from me. How could he not crave that?
"It's not impossible mom, you might meet someone." I said and felt my chest flutter as she looked up at me. Her bright green eyes shone with tears as she looked hopefully at me.
"I hope so, Daniel, I want another baby so badly." She said and I felt my cock twitch at the urge to be the one. The one that filled her with seed, that gave her my child. I kissed her forehead gently and hugged her.
"I love you mom. It's gonna be okay." I told her before I let her go and went to start making her dinner. She smiled at me and took her wine to the living room to watch tv. I made baked chicken and veggies while she relaxed and served her on the couch. She took the food with a sad smile and patted my hand as I took her empty wine glass to refill it. I brought her back a full glass and she grinned.
"Thank you, Danny, this chicken is really good sweetheart." She said and I smiled as I sat next to her with my plate. Our shoulders touched as we sat comfortably with each other, our relationship as close as it ever was even without dad.
"I didn't even get to ask how practice was." Mom said and I smiled.
"The coach said I did a great job and that he's impressed with my improvement." I told her and she gave me a little side hug.
"I'm so proud of you Daniel. You don't ever let me down. I wish more men were like you honey." She said and I felt my heart flutter again. I leaned over and gently kissed her cheek.
"I wish more women were like you, mom." I said softly before I pulled away and took our dishes to the kitchen to wash up.
By the time I came back mom was asleep on the couch, I smiled and picked her up. She barely moved as I held her gently to my chest and took her to her bed. Tucking her in my hand brushed her breast and she moaned. I swallowed hard as she turned toward me and groaned in her sleep her lips slightly parted. Stealing a kiss wouldn't hurt, right? I leaned forward and gently pressed my lips to hers. They were so soft and warm, I wanted to bite and nip at them. I pulled back to find confused green eyes looking into mine.
"Danny?" Mom whispered half asleep but confused that I had kissed her. I stepped back and turned away from her.
"Just go back to sleep mom, you had a bit too much wine." I said and she sighed before I heard her head thump back to the pillows and her gentle snores. I winced as I realized I crossed a line I couldn't take back. That I would crave her taste now, that I needed more. I went to my room to think about what I did and how to make my mom fall for me.
AMELIA
My head was pounding when I woke up, the two large glasses of wine last night the most likely culprit. A gentle knock at my door made me jump.
"Come on in, sweetheart." I called and Daniel came in with a tray with a breakfast burrito and some Tylenol with a glass of juice. I smiled as he set it in front of me and held out the juice for me.
"Thank you so much, honey. My head feels awful." I said and took the meds. I gulped down the juice and dug into the burrito while he sat and played idly on his phone.
"Mmm, this is so good. Daniel. I'm so glad you took those culinary classes." I said and he grinned.
"Thanks mom, remember anything about yesterday beyond passing out on the couch?" He asked and I shook my head, I just assumed he brought me to bed. He seemed relieved at that, but now that he said something I'd had a weird dream where he kissed me. I shook that out of my head and finished my breakfast.
"Did the office call?" I asked and he nodded. I winced, it wasn't really good for the boss to not show up. "What did you tell them?" I asked.
"That dad fucked up, and you were dealing with the fallout. Not really, I said you were sick this morning." Daniel said and I laughed at his humor. He always knew how to cheer me up.
"Now do you want massage therapy or retail therapy?" he asked and I groaned, his massages were heavenly.
"Can we do some retail therapy and come home for some massage therapy?" I asked almost pleadingly. Daniel grinned and nodded and I cheered, hopping out of bed and going into my closet. I picked out a soft blue sundress and some baby blue panties. I felt cute and sexy, maybe I'd catch some cute guy's attention. When I appeared from my closet Daniel stared in awe at me.
"Damn mom, you need more of those dresses." He said as his eyes wandered over me. I blushed and an odd warmth settled in my belly at his compliment.
"Thank you honey. Let's go to the mall!" I cheered and ran out of the room to put my shoes on. Daniel joined me and put on his sneakers while I put on my tennis shoes. He laughed as I raced him to the car and pushed him out of the way as I got in the driver's seat. We laughed when he got into the passenger seat and I drove us to the mall.
I was standing around with my shopping bags waiting for Daniel while he picked out new shoes when I spotted Adrian with the young woman. He had his arm around her waist with his hand resting lightly on her ass as they got in line for a movie. Rage and sorrow swamped me and I fought back the tears as Daniel appeared by my side.
"Oh you have to be fucking kidding." He muttered and was out of the store in a heartbeat. I chased after him as he stormed over to my husband and the woman he was with. I watched as Daniel hauled Adrian out of line and began yelling profanity at him. That's when Adrian noticed me, standing off to the side, tears falling down my cheeks. He glared at me, and grabbed the hand of the woman he was with and stormed into the theater, ignoring Daniel. Adrian made his choice, and it wasn't for our family.
I ran from the mall with Daniel close behind me, bitter tears fell down my cheeks as I climbed into the car and started to sob. I felt abandoned and unloved, or maybe unlovable. Daniel got in the car and pulled me into his lap, it was a tight squeeze but he held me tight as I sobbed into his chest.
"He doesn't matter. I'm here, I've got you. I love you, and I'll always be here." Daniel said and wrapped his arms even tighter around me as I cried. He held me till I was calm then he helped me into the passenger seat so he could drive us home. As soon as I got through the door I retreated to my bedroom, needing some time alone.
The gentle knock on my door told me Daniel was worried for me. I called him in and he entered with a sandwich and a glass of water.
"I brought some lunch for you. I also wanted to talk. About dad, about us." He said and I looked at him curiously. He grabbed a chair and pulled it up next to the bed and handed me the sandwich. He looked a little conflicted and nervous and I wondered what had made my baby so anxious.
"Are you going to divorce dad?" He asked as I chewed thoughtfully at my sandwich.
