Maya blinked and kept her eyes closed for about five seconds, only opening them when she was certain the weird hallucination was gone. Instead, it was still there, a reflection not her own and yet...yet it was strikingly similar in a few ways. Firstly, the hair, it was the same shade of red and perhaps only slightly longer than it was before, but it was still wavy and sleek. Then second was the eyes. Same deep green hues that one could simply get lost in.
Everything else though, save for the somewhat pale tone of her skin, was different. For one thing, she actually had tits! They'd grown many, many cup sizes, just enough to be more than a handful for anyone, but not ridiculously large either. She cupped them from below, giving them a good jiggle and was surprised to find that they were, in fact, real. Better yet, they appeared to be all natural. How she'd gone from not having any tits to having low E's was beyond her ken at the moment, but she would certainly find out eventually.
Next was her waist, it was slimmer than before, giving her a very distinctive hourglass shape considering her hips had widened a bit. Then there was her butt, which was now rather supple and bouncy, but much like her chest, not in a ridiculous way. Her thighs were plump and full, and though she had a good layer of soft fat upon her, she felt corded muscle under it all. Somehow she'd managed to attain the softest and most ideal body for herself while also attaining a level of fitness under it all that she'd never achieved before.
It floored her to even think about how all this had happened, and with a sudden spike of pain in her head it all came rushing back. The cave, the ship, the weird black sludge that'd taken her virginity and violated her, how she'd loved every second of it after a point. It hurt to think about, but at least she remembered. A part of her was rightfully mad about what had happened, but strangely the rest of her wasn't. Something in her mind assured her it was only a net positive, that she'd been given everything she'd desired and a little more, that it was all smooth sailing from this point on.
She wasn't really sure how much she trusted that voice in her head but as far as she could tell there wasn't much she could do about her current appearance and so she tore her gaze away from the mirror and slipped into some clothes, before heading downstairs for breakfast. Her mother was hunched slightly over the stove, fussing over pancakes as far as Maya could tell.
"Morning hun, sleep we-HOLY SHIT MAYA!?" Her mother, Samantha, promptly yelled once she'd actually looked at her daughter, dropping the spatula in the process. The abruptness of the yell was enough to make her leap backwards, smacking the back of her head against the wall. That was more than enough to get her father Richard to look up from his own pancakes, nearly choking on the bite he'd taken.
Her mind raced a mile a minute, trying to think up some sort of excuse for the sudden change in her appearance and yet she couldn't. Panic once more came to rest in her breast and she struggled to even breathe.
-+Please don't think about it. I'm clearly just a late bloomer.+-
That one thought cut through the static like a hot knife, and her parents went still, then twitched into motion, all looks of surprise about her appearance fading immediately. Instead, her mother approached her with a look of worry on her face.
"Oh sweetheart, are you okay? You hit your head pretty hard." She crooned, reverting back to her old mother hen persona. Maya just nodded, rubbing the back of her head with a slight wince.
"Yeah...yeah I'm fine. Just startled me is all." She mumbled, her panic subsiding and replaced with a little embarrassment. Samantha nodded and stepped back, beaming in a relieved sort of way.
"Oh excellent, glad to see you finally hit that late bloom. I always said you would, we Reid's can take a while to get there though." She chirped, humming as she picked up the spatula and tossed it into the sink. "Now, you hungry?"
Maya thought about it for a moment and then sat herself down. She wasn't looking forward to the idea of trying to explain this all to her fellow classmates, and again another thought cut through the fog. This time manifesting as proper speech.
"I uh...I don't really feel too well. I was thinking I might just stay home and take it easy today." She said, again her parents stiffening slightly before nodding.
"Poor thing, I'll call the school and let them know. You go lay down, maybe take a pancake with you to nibble on if you get peckish." Samantha said, sliding a pancake onto a plate and handing it over. A murmur of thanks from Maya and she was on her way back to her bedroom. Getting herself comfortable she thought about what happened, all while staring at the palm of her hand as though it held all the answers.
In a manner it did, for the longer she focused on it the more she could 'see', so to speak. Her eyes focused on a large vein which pulsed with every beat of her heart and her vision began to tunnel, almost zooming in. Everything around her went dark, all she could see was the vein and even that was becoming translucent almost. Soon enough, she could see into it, see the blood that thundered through her body except....except it wasn't blood. Instead it was trillions of black machines, too many for her to accurately count. Even more surprising is how her vision began to see deeper, and soon she could see the bones of her hand had been replaced with a malleable black metal, able to twist and bend as much as a normal bone could.
The sight of this caused her to snap back to a more reasonable and normal level of vision, her brow furrowing as she mulled over the implications. As it stood, she was clearly not as biological as she once was, but how extensive were the changes? Was she fully synthetic now? She didn't feel like a machine, didn't think like one. If anything she felt more human than she'd ever felt before, just with some clearly non-human additions.
Pursing her lips she picked up her cellphone and texted her one and only friend, sending only one word to her.
-Gilgamesh.-
It was a code word, one her friend would know quite well. They were both big anime nerds after all, and so it made the most sense to them. It was intended to inform either of them that they needed to drop everything, come up with an excuse and then meet up to discuss something important. Or if they needed help of a most dire urgency.
-Where you at?-
That was the reply she got and she quickly responded.
-Home sick. Just let yourself in.-
