Mixed unions, diverse relationships, the union of opposites, a lot of people have a problem with such things. My name is Alexander Valcourt, and in mortal life, I was a police officer in the City of Montreal, province of Quebec. My parents, Etienne and Jeannette Valcourt are immigrants from the island of Haiti and they instilled in me the values of hard work and determination. I've always been a hard worker with ambition to spare. I guess that's part of the reason why I was a patrol supervisor with the Montreal Police Service at the tender age of twenty seven. Not bad for a poor guy from the Caribbean, eh?
One night, while investigating a series of gruesome murders, I had my first encounter with the undead. A swarm of zombies attacked me inside this top secret laboratory. When I say zombies, I mean exactly that, man. Flesh-eating, mindless ghouls. I shot and killed a lot of them but in the end, they overwhelmed me and I got bitten. The bite of a zombie typically turns a human being into one of them within twenty four hours. That's exactly what happened to me, except that when I woke up as a zombie, I wasn't one of the mindless flesh-eaters you see in the movies. I was afflicted with the hunger and restlessness of the dead, yes, but I still had all my faculties. I was a zombie, but a different kind of zombie.
The zombie virus which reanimated me after my death was created by a joint operation of the Canadian Forces and the United States Army. They wanted to create the ultimate soldier, and they thought this virus could transform ordinary men and women into undying monsters. They would unleash said monsters upon their enemies in the Middle East, and thus win the war in the coming Clash of Civilizations. Well, that's what they were planning on doing anyway. I was the first person transformed by the zombie virus into something other than an ordinary zombie. I escaped from the laboratory where the scientists and soldiers held me. When I escaped into the night, I found myself a changed man facing a changed world.
All over the world there are outbreaks of zombies. From Spain to Portugal, from Afghanistan to Lebanon, from South Africa to Brazil, they're everywhere. The humans don't know how to deal with them. The world's strongest armies are overrun by the legions of the flesh-eating mindless undead. I am not human, nor am I one of them. In the midst of the chaos which man brought upon himself, I am searching for my family. My brother Jacob lives in the City of London, Ontario, with his wife Mildred and my nephew, Arthur. They're out there, and I mean to find them. After the death of my parents, they're the only family I've got. Zombies are everywhere and they're a threat to mankind. I fight them, but I can't do it alone. The humans want me dead too. When they see me, all they see is another zombie. When they realize that I can think, and talk, they see me as an even greater threat than the average zombie.
