Drew woke up in a strange room. He couldn't remember how he got there or what had happened. The last thing he could remember was...
He blushed.
Oh man. He had lost his virginity.
To a
Dramatian
.
Drew could remember her looking up at him adoringly. She was adorable. The smallest person he had ever seen.
And he had skewered her on
this
.
He pulled back the blankets to look at his enormous cock. Good lord he wasn't even hard and it went up past his belly button.
Noting the fact that he had new underwear, Drew tucked it away and got out of bed. He was suddenly very alert. And hungry.
Where
was
he?
Like a hunter, he crept up to the door. He moved without noise and approached the door frame and listened.
Voices were coming from his left down the hall, so was a yellow light. The other way was completely silent and dark. Trusting his instincts, Drew slipped into the darkness.
There was a door on his right, but he couldn't open it. There was no doorknob or lock or anything. The next door did have a handle on it but it was clearly occupied. There was light coming from underneath the door. And a strange rushing sound. It was like rain, but less. Nothing like Drew had ever heard. He listened carefully.
There was a woman humming to herself over the sound of rushing water.
He backed away from the door.
With no more exits to check, Drew reluctantly made his way back down the hall toward the light. Cautiously, but quickly, he looked into the room.
There was a strange window of sorts. Drew quickly recognized it to be some kind of digital screen and not a literal window. The images moved around too rapidly. There were several seats and a couch, which was occupied. A mop of messy black hair was poking out from over the armrest, their back to him.
Drew looked further inside and saw that directly across the room from him was another door, also closed and without a door handle. Drew sighed. The other half of the room was filled with a cozy looking kitchen.
Should he even try to get to the door? He didn't know how to open it. He seriously doubted that he could break it down. He noticed that there was a panel next to the door. His skills with electronics were limited to pressing the on and off button after it had been pointed out to him several times. But maybe he could figure it out.
He didn't really have any other options.
Silently, he slipped into the room and hunched down under the counter that separated him and the person sitting on the couch. When he poked his head around the other side, he could see the side of her face. If he moved to the panel, she would probably see him. But she seemed very engrossed with the digital screen.
Drew stayed low and moved slowly, keeping his eye on her. When he made his way to the panel, she laughed and he threw his body to the floor.
He heard her chewing something crunchy and realized that she had laughed at the screen. Slowly, he got up and faced the panel.
It was about the size of his hand and had three white buttons underneath. Well, he thought they were buttons. When he tried to press them, he realized that they were probably indicator lights. Well nuts.
Harry had tried to teach Drew about digital touchscreens, but considering what he had to work with and the fact that Drew had little to no interest, nothing had really become of it. It just wasn't important. But now Drew was mentally kicking himself for not indulging his friend more.
"This could save your life one day."
Who knew that he would have been right? It was just a little box of light.
Drew nervously pressed his finger against the screen. It lit up.
So far so good.
There were four boxes on the screen, each of them had different symbols on them. The upper left one had a cross, which Drew recognized to be a medical symbol. Drew also realized that this was
not
the symbol on Halquire's door, which he knew to be the doctor's office. So it probably wasn't to summon her.
Not that Drew was certain he wanted to. She was... wonderful. But he wasn't sure she could help him.
The icon on the top right was a half-circle with two smaller circles on either side of it. The center of the half-circle was an oblong blue "eye," which Drew recognized to be a Quadrabead.
So not that one.
The next box, the bottom left one, had the shape of a machine that Drew did not recognize. There was a box with what appeared to be several knobs and dials. The top of the box had what appeared to be a snake with a bizarre head emerging from the top.
Drew did not like that one.
The last box on the bottom right just had the word "SCAN" on it. Drew had nothing to scan. These were all terrible options. He was about to press the last one when he heard a noise coming from the couch.
He whipped around to see that the woman sitting there had stood up and was looking at him. He stood up too and backed away from her.
"Woah there lad, it's alright," She said, putting her hands in the air. "You just surprised me. When did you get out of bed?"
Drew didn't answer.
The woman stared at him for a moment, her eyes darting up and down his body. They rested longer on his crotch. Drew stepped behind the counter to obstruct her view.
She looked embarrassed. "Sorry. You're probably not used to that, eh? It's just... been a while since we had a male here."
Sensing that she was not an immediate threat, Drew looked around for something to write on. He seriously doubted that she could understand sign language.
"What are you looking for?" She asked, trying to be helpful. If only he could ask for it. But then of course, he wouldn't need it.
He pulled open one of the drawers and saw that it was filled with silverware. Made out of a strange white material that he didn't recognize.
"Uh, hey Abigail?! He's awake!" The woman behind him shouted down the hall. Drew whipped around and she backed away. "Sorry, sorry. It's okay!"
Drew looked over at the door again and willed it to open. Nothing happened.
Very disappointing.
He needed to get out of here before this "Abigail" showed up. The panel was probably useless. If he had to guess, it was used to summon someone and that was the last thing he wanted to do. Drew scrambled over to the door and slid his hand alongside the crack, hoping to find somewhere he could pry a lever into. It was possible that the door could pop off its frame if it didn't have hinges.
He heard wet footsteps behind him and turned around to see...
Her.
The amber haired woman in his dreams. Or at least he had thought it was a dream. They had almost kissed before the world went black.
They stared at each other in a daze. Drew stepped away from the door. She was incredible. Her hair was matted to her face, the only thing she was wearing was some kind of fluffy blanket. Her light brown eyes seemed to glow, much like her cheeks, which were getting redder by the second.
Drew forgot how to breathe. His hands moved on their own.
Angel
.
The other woman's brow furrowed as she looked at his hands. Drew made eye contact with her and the moment was over. He remembered where he was, and his expression shifted to fear.
"Wait a minute..." She stepped forward and held up her hand in the universal symbol for mute.
Drew lifted his hand to mirror hers.
...
Shawna groaned. "He's deaf."
"What?" Abigail said. She was still in hornyland. The two of them made eye contact and lost their minds.
"I said, 'He's deaf.' He can't hear."
The male snapped his fingers and they both turned to look at him. He pointed at Shawna and shook his head. Then pointed to his neck.
Or rather, the scar on his neck.
What do you mean
? Shawn signed.
The male sighed with relief. Clearly, he had thought they wouldn't be able to understand him.
I'm not deaf, I'm mute. My vocal cords were severed when I was young.
"What's happening, what are you guys doing?"
Well, the male had been half-right. Abigail had no idea what signing even was. "Sign language. I picked it up a few years ago."
"Wait so he can't hear us?"
"No. Wait, yes he can. He says he's mute, not deaf. He uh..." She looked at the male for approval and he nodded. "That scar on his neck? His vocal cords were severed a long time ago."
"What?? That's horrible."
"Yeah." Shawna said.
What happened
?
The male held his hands up like he wanted to say something, then paused to think about it.
You don't have to tell us if you don't want to
.
He shook his head.
Not the time. By the way, you can talk normally if you want, I can hear you.
"Oh. Right." Shawna felt silly as she put her hands down. "Sorry about that, I'm just used to... well. Talking to someone who can't hear me."
The male nodded like he understood, but Abigail gave her a strange look. They hadn't talked much about their past relationships, so Shawna understood. But she also felt like she hadn't really earned the right to know.
She decided to change the subject. "What's your name?"
Drew
. Well, actually he signed the letters, then signed the word.
"Drew. That's a lovely name."
He blushed.
Thank you
.
"My name is Shawna."
"And I'm Abigail. Please don't call me Abby." Shawna noted that she had said the exact same thing when they moved into the apartment.
"Would you like to take a seat, dear? So we can talk?"
Drew stared at the floor for a moment, then looked up at her. She realized he was trying to read her expression.
"I promise we don't bite." She smiled warmly.
He nodded cautiously and made his way over to the table.
"Unless you want us to, of course."
Drew flushed as he looked at her with eyes bigger than dinner plates. Abigail swatted her.
"
Shawna
!"
"Sorry." She didn't sound very sorry, not even to herself.
They all sat down, but the bull was eyeing her now. Shawna liked that. She winked at him and he looked down at the table.
She grinned. He was cute, she could give him that.
"So..." Abigail said, twiddling her thumbs. "Do you like it?"
Drew's brow furrowed.
Like what
?
Shawna realized what Abigail was trying to say, but didn't think their new friend(?) was ready for that. "The ship!"
Abigail looked at her funnily. "Actually I was- ow!"
Shawna nodded as she pinched Abigail's thigh under the table. "It must be quite the change, living on the ship when you're... so used to... trees?"
Drew looked between them as they smiled awkwardly.
Trees
.
"Yeah I'm sorry, I don't really know a whole lot about planets."
"They have trees!" Abigail agreed, "That's how planets make oxygen."
I don't really know what you're talking about
