Twisted Tails.
The Yokai or changelings live secret lives in the densest jungles, forests and most isolated parts of our planet. They do not show themselves often and when they do it is by accident because humans have intruded into their world.
I have had many dreams about them throughout my life and this was one I had a very long time ago when I had travelled in areas that I found beautiful because of their isolation. I met a woman in my travels and her pretty face and sexual heat I found irresistible as I travelled with her. One night as I made love to her in the sparse forests at the snowline on a tall mountain, I will not say where, her body changed as I drove her delicate rump hard as she demanded. My hands were filled with heated fur and tails, silver and soft as I has ever felt, fanned across my chest and stomach as she howled to the full moon shining starkly above us.
I howled with her as I came deep inside her. My body was on fire and I found myself running naked in the snow and laughing as I dived into snow drifts as a great silver fox with nine tails danced in joy with me and yipped in delight as I played tag with her. Finally I lay down against her large warm body and she licked my ears and my cheek. I slept comfortably and was surprised to find myself alone in my sturdy tent erected in the shelter of some large pines that protected me from the snow that had fallen through the night.
Of my lovely and spirited companion I found no sign. As I disassembled my camp and made my way down to the track we had followed up the mountain I could feel friendly eyes upon me but I could not locate their source. At the bottom of the mountain where a stream bubbled merrily containing the frigid water of the melting snow I spotted a large flat rock. On the rock were the wet footprints of a large fox and I sat and thanked whatever spirits that watched over me that had allowed me to spend some time with a mythical being.
I never looked back as I continued down the trail until I reached the little village I had been told would be there. As I ate delicately flavoured stew with rice I smiled as those around me touched my hand and my face.
"Blessed one," an older woman came and sat opposite me. "Are you ready to go home now?" she asked.
I blinked my eyes slowly and found myself sitting at my desk. The story below is what I had typed on my computer. For years I have kept it to myself but now I share it with you all.
Enjoy.
I groaned as the phone rang and the caller ID showed it was my mother. If I had told her once I had told her a thousand times that she couldn't ring me at work unless it was an emergency. As I had only seen her two hours ago before I left home I couldn't believe that something had happened that needed my immediate attention. I ignored it and let it go to my voice mail.
Five minutes later Uncle Todd's number was flashing on my now quietened phone. I ignored him as well. I really wanted to answer him but I was in the middle of finishing some code that had to be the testers by lunch. Two hours later my sister rang me. I glanced at the compilation report and saw that it was clean. I sent it off to migration and picked up my phone.
"Hello, Tanya," I answered breezily.
"Is it fucking true?" she screamed at me from the other side. I held the phone away from my ear and waited until I could no longer hear her ranting about something and a much softer, "Hello, Ollie are you there?" came from the instrument on my desktop.
I decided that I didn't want to answer whatever question she was asking. I tapped my finger on the hang-up button. My Aunt was on the phone not ten minutes later and I picked the phone up. "Aunty Bren, how are you?" I asked gently.
"Scared, Ollie. Your mother and sister have been trying to ring me all morning. Why are they ringing me now, Oliver?" she sounded very distressed. I leant back in my chair and concentrated on her pretty green eyes, dark brown almost red hair and high cheekbones. I filled in a background of her in her bedroom and sitting on her bed and clasping a nervous hand around her stomach as she worried about what my sibling and mother were trying to get information from her about. The vision became solid and I stood in front of her. She dropped the phone and rushed to my arms. I held her tight.
"Oh thank goodness, Ollie!" Uncle Todd almost sobbed as he snuggled himself into the side of his sister and me as we stood embracing in the bedroom.
"They know nothing, people. They probably sniffed the ether and have decided that they tracked me back and forth from here a few times. They are nosy and jealous little shits and are trying to impose their will on me again!" I said almost angrily until I realised that it was not these wonderful two that I was angry with it. It was my interfering mother and sister. I checked my mind shields and the wards around the castle. I was satisfied that they could not find me or where I had taken Todd and Brenda.
"They cannot track us here, Todd," I said to the small dark haired man that was nervously pacing and twisting his fingers together. Brenda was still clutching me but she was not trembling as much as she was when I had turned up in her modern day apartment.
"How far?" he asked as he stopped and turned to look at me.
"About 1400 years. This castle is one of mine that I built and made sure was well hidden from mother and her spies. I am sure she doesn't even know about it. But," I gave Brenda a little kiss on her forehead, "I have to go and find out what the hell has got them both steamed up. I am sure," I held a hand out to Todd and he almost ran over to hold it tightly to his chest, "that it has nothing to do with you or Brenda and what you have been doing."
"Will you come back and do it some more, Ollie," Brenda asked with a hopeful face even as I pressed Todd to hold his sister as I composed myself to return to the modern world. I gave her a huge grin and nodded just as I disappeared from her sight.
Maria, my housemaid, was not startled when I appeared directly behind her and placed a warm hand on the back of her neck. Her ears twitched and her tail swished with happiness as I leaned into her back and let my hands drift down and around her body to rest on her furry stomach. She turned in my arms and kissed me gently on the lips. "Welcome home, Master," she said softly.
"Is my mother or sister here?" I asked her even as her lips and tongue gently moved down my chin and down my throat in little licks that told me that her warm body in my arms was wanting some attention and not just patting.
She ceased her attempts to get me excited and backed up a step and looked into my eyes. She gave me the answer with the drooping of her ears and the quick snarl of her short muzzle in her humanoid form. Her face was very human looking but her canine heritage could not be totally disguised in her furry form, particularly when she was angry. I loved her dearly and truth be told she was everything I could ever ask for in a female. Unfortunately she and I were not prepared to face the wrath of my family if we ever decided to formalise our love with a marriage. Instead we kept our relationship low key as Master and Maid. It was a game that both of us loved to play. It is very exciting to have a housemaid that knows that in many respects she is the boss.
"I have shifted them to your living room in 201. They are not aware that you are home yet," she grinned and I was pleased her long fangs disappeared as her face softened and became more human and her full lips puckered for another kiss. I obliged and gently rubbed her ears before telling her that I would be home again shortly. I took two steps towards the portal for 201 Appleyard Avenue. My modern apartment in 2028, the current present that my family resided in.
My sister hissed in anger as I appeared at the doorway to my spacious living room. I waved my hand and froze her in place. I was not going to be yelled at by anyone in my own home. Particularly not by a five-tailed fox. The nine-tailed fox sitting beside her was a different matter but at least she had enough sense to respect where she was. Her eyes glowed a little in anger but she nodded her head in demi-approval of my actions.
"So, Mother, you want to tell me what has everyone in a dither and why I have had to hide Todd and Brenda,
Dad's
siblings, in the past where you and she can't find them?" I said as I walked over to my bar and fixed myself a bourbon and cola. I raised a wine bottle and poured a glass for her when she nodded.
