Treasure Ch 7 C a continuation of 7 A&B - Timelines can be Aggravating.
The following is a collaboration between the main author, me, and my muse. My muse did make an interesting comment that led to this Chapter. "Come on, you are having too much fun playing in this genre." She was/is right. Of course, she was naked and cuddled next to me at the time. This means my mental capacities were questionable at best.
So, what happens to humanity when aliens pop into the middle of our society? Does Humanity welcome our celestial visitors with open arms, or with pitchforks and torches?
Does humanity band together? Do they do it out of fear? Does humanity bond together to grow as a world society to become part of something larger in the cosmos?
Well, not to get into human politics, but just look at the stratification of my home country, the USA...I wonder how it will go?
Remember my limited understanding of Timelines. Infinite number according to Steven Hawkings. This is why the concept of Timelines is so damned interesting.
I have no idea how long it will be, or what twists and turns might develop. THAT is the magic of life and multiple timelines.
All humans and creatures are over 18 years of age. All humans and creatures are figments of my mind and are not meant to represent any creatures that walk our earth. If one does, please send me an email with a picture or video attachment.
What do you do in a timeline?
Does Humanity grow and flourish a part of this timeline, or does it cower, caveman-like in its hole in the ground?

Just after his 66th Birthday...
Drew grabbed Sam, short for Samantha, from her bassinet and took her to the kitchen. They had their own little ritual, Beau and Avi were into it too. Sam was past bottle/breast feeding and was well into solid foods now. She had a habit of making a mess.
Avi plus Beau were enthusiastic gobblers of her ejected food stuffs.
Jeanne was in Toronto at a symposium on the collaboration of humanity and the known alien races. While not the keynote speaker, she was only one tier away and had her beautiful face plastered all over the internet. Drew was incredibly proud of her and the work she was doing.
Jeanne was scheduled to be home later in the evening.
He was enthralled to know he would be sleeping next to her as they drifted off to sleep. He always missed her when the bed lay cold on her side.
Drew on the other hand, found the politics of being an ambassador a royal pain in the ass. Younger ambassadors were chosen, and he happily passed the baton to younger folk.
He was regulated to house-dad, to watch over a new daughter and two overactive pups. He kept in touch with his alien friends and benefactors. He never thought he would enjoy being home with the munchkin and dealing with the day to day. 44 years as construction manager though had him trained to deal with the unexpected. As he lived his life now, finally intertwined with Jeanne and responsible for thier child...well it made him smile.
He tends to smile a lot nowadays.
Of course it could not be that simple...Aliens.
Aliens, and the changes they brought, infused his life from dawn to well past sleep time.
Humans and several alien races wanted to study his genetic anomaly. He had been told, finally, what had happened within other timelines. While intriguing to think of being bonded to several aliens...well having a harem.
He smiled again, his Jeanne sexually, was almost more woman than he could handle. Ther libidos matched even at their ages. He did not want, nor desire, more complications.
Sam was enough to keep him in a reality check. He had built in babysitting services with the Trio or Calliope (Calli for short) if required. As if on Q, Calli strode in the front door and came to tickle Sam in her highchair.
Every so often Drew became contemplative of his life. He now was in a deepening relationship with a woman he loved for well over 40 years. Admittedly, she had yet to confirm if she had forgiven him for dragging her ass in the middle of his messy life.
They had a new daughter, unplanned for, and one of the reasons he was yet to be forgiven. Even in his advanced age he felt energetic and younger, due to alien medicine. The youngest member of their family kept him energized and loving life.
His friends were a mix of both human and alien. The Trio had admitted previously that his 'snatching' had been for the benefit of their race and not a choice by the alien council. It had worked and then they found human males more than willing to procreate with hot alien women.
The body snatching was not an issue for the council. The Greys had been snatching humans for years, wiping their minds after useless experiments were carried out.
He looked over at Calli, who was a construct of plasma and a type of quicksilver metal. She was not 'Alien' but a synthetic being. Created by one alien race as a servant. That ended when she was 'given' to Drew. It took two nanoseconds for her to shift and become part of the family.
While her 'personality' resided in the ship that hovered hidden and shielded above his house, she chose a human form to go out and delve deeper into the 'human' psyche. She could look like anything but chose a form and shape like Jeanne because it pleased Drew.
Drew would trust her with his and his daughter's life without question. And he trusted her to be Jeanne's chauffeur as she traveled the Northern Hemisphere trying to combat hate and bigotry between humans and aliens.
"Well, I am off to get the missus," she commented as she added a bit more food in Sam's highchair tray.
'Are you sure you do not want to tag along for the flight?"
Calli looked from Drew down to Sam and watched her drop food from her tray to the waiting puppies. This caused bouts of giggling from both the munchkin and the silver beauty.
"No, go ahead and steal back my Jeanne from the mean old protesters," Drew smiled still at the thought of 'my Jeanne.'
"Sam and I need to visit the pediatrician in a couple of hours and then complete a Costco run."
"Suit yourself, I'll be back by tonight with your lovely partner and you two can catch up on your loving. Let me know if you need any help with the little one while you and 'mom' get wrapped up in each other." She smiled again and turned for the door while simultaneously stroking Sam's cheek.
She did not need to walk out the door, she could just vanish up to her 'ship'. But everyone had learned quickly that Sam pitched a fit when her play buddy Calli just vanished. So, it was walking and talking, until she was out Sam's view.
Playing house-dad, he checked to make sure Sam had eaten her fill and not dropped all of it for the expectant puppies. The three of them, Sam, Avi and Beau were BFF's and slept together each night. It was a minor friction between Jeanne and him, but when she was not in the house...
Beau and Avi had bonded over treats and their love for Jeanne. Avi, the seriously mentally disturbed pup, had found salvation in Beau's larger-than-life personality. Once they bonded, they were quite a dynamic duo.
Drew smiled remembering Beau's antics on the mother ship. He was officially banned from ever setting foot on the big ship again. Allegedly several of the alien crew were under therapy for nightmares regarding miniature murderous demons.
He knew the Costco run would be 'uncomfortable', but he refused to alter his life any more than he already had. Humanity had come a long way since the 'coming out party' but a large sampling clung to old racist beliefs.
Humanity...humanity never seemed to change. Upon his and the other 'ambassadors' arrival in the spotlight with their alien entourage, humanity had split into two distinct bands. One, welcoming the Aliens and reaping in the advanced medicine, added business opportunities and general awe of having Aliens within the 'celestial neighborhood.'
The second group can be summed up by the phrase 'aliens go home'. The vitriol of some humans was unbelievable. It reminded Drew of the presidential campaign of a certain ex-president.
The doctor's appointment for Sam went well. Drew received the normal questions about the child and responded like any dad would. It always 'intrigued' the staff how a man of his age could have fathered a little tyke like Sam. He was sure Jeanne received the same questions when she brought Sam in.
Drew exited to the lobby readying himself for the trip to Costco.
Some of the parents recognized Drew. He immediately knew what 'camp' each of the parents fell into. The look of disgust was palatable.
The flip side was the open, curious face, wanting to ask him a dozen questions.
In this case, two different parents looked on with revulsion.
Drew talked with the staff and worked out dates for future appointments. Sam rode his hip and played with the buttons on his shirt.
Drew turned to leave, gathering up the backpack that held the essentials for a happy baby.
"How dare you bring the disgusting creatures to Earth." Drew heard from a female voice behind him.
Drew pivoted to keep his body between whomever was the aggressor, and his Sam. He did it out of instinct.
He just looked at the woman speaker and her baby laying in the carry cradle next to her. His eyes flicked to the other woman sitting three chairs down and could see a satisfied smirk plastering her face.
Drew just edged towards the door without responding. He had confrontations before, but without Samantha in the 'line of Fire'. He also knew that half of humanity would never be convinced that change could be good. Hate and bitterness were the glue that held the haters together.
He did not respond, and he saw the woman gather herself and stand.
"Don't you ignore me you alien lover." The woman boomed, "You brought them here and ruined our life with the dirty, disgusting creatures you serve."
Sam was starting to fuss about the tone and inflection of this stranger facing her poppa. The receptionist and one of the nurses were coming out the doorway into the lobby to assist with the confrontation.
Drew held up his hand to the staff, and then turned his head to face the aggressor while keeping his body between Sam and the woman.
"I am sorry you feel that way," started Drew, "they were already here watching humanity, we just didn't know." Drew paused, taking a deep breath and trying to calm his nerves.
"They came to say hello, bringing advanced medicine, new ways of manufacturing and faster than light travel. They did not come to disrupt lives, but open avenues for us as humanity to grow and expand our knowledge." Drew spoke using the 'canned' speech he had already used a hundred times.
"Disrupt lives! My husband ran off with some alien slut! Disrupt lives!" she seemed to be gaining speed and Drew wanted past the door and away from both women. The other had looked like she had swallowed a bug when she heard the other woman comment about an alien affair.
