"Alright, now that the strange little men are out of the way-" You begin, speaking only briefly before Shadowheart interrupts you.

"What do you mean 'out of the way?' We have nothing but strange little men ahead of us."

"No! Not them I mean-" You pass a quick glance to Karlach he smiles awkwardly at you, but ultimately gives you an encouraging thumbs up.

"Oh nevermind. We've been getting off track for a while now. We forgot why we came here to begin with."

"Exactly." Shadowheart nods.

You both spoke at the exact same time.

"Attractive Drow woman."

"Curing our tadpoles."

"What?" Shadoweart leaned forward, her brow firmly raised.

"What?" You echo her question.

"Anyway, we should keep going."

"Surge, sweetie, I hear they have spiders in the cellar. Big ones, I imagine." Asterion places his hand to the side of his mouth as if he is imparting a casual bit of gossip.

"What are you doing! We should not be encouraging her." Shadowheart complains.

Asterion is wounded by the comment. "Well, I just thought that it was possible she could remember something about her actual goddess, instead of swapping back and forth while catching fire before or after. I happen to think fire is only fun when used by two consenting adults." He winks at Karlach who seems to agree with a nod.

"Alright." Shadowheart is overcome with a newfound enthusiasm.

"Oi. Shouldn't you be happy your goddess got a convert?" Karlach questions.

"My goddess is not starved for attention like some trollop plying trade in the brothel. She is a dignified lady of serene disposition." She carried the proudness and poise of a true believer.

"She gets mad at me a lot and tries to burn and kill me. Killed me once." You mention off-handedly as if it is barely a concern.

"Lolth would need to do quite a bit more than that to win me back. Maybe she can tell me a bit about myself? That would be enough."

"I thought that was going somewhere else, to be honest. Surprisingly very rational of you." Asterion compliments.

You all find a way to get into the spider pits. Standing guard is a single goblin. He looks up at you reverently. His neck bends and his hands clasp in a supplicative motion in front of him.

"Come ta do Drow things to the spoiders me Lady?"

You chuckle cruelly, lifting a finger to your lips. "You have no right to even ask, really. But if you must know, yes. I am planning to do very, very Drow things with the spiders. Because you see I am-"

Shadowheart grabs your shoulders from behind and pushes you through as the goblin quickly opens the gate for you.

"Yes yes, very good! Drow things... very reasonable. We're in a hurry. Come now." You stumble forward into the spider cage only to be pushed in with the gates shutting tight behind you.

"Be good, Surge! We're going to go try and do some more investigating about the... Well, have fun."

You furrow your brow. `They are probably going to go and investigate the missing druid, but what possible reason would they have to not tell me about their plans?` As you are thinking that while walking deeper into the pen you feel your hand unconsciously caress the prickly barbs of an extremely large spider that does not seem to mind your presence. It does notice you.

"What may we do for you, Ghost Spider?" It chitters in a tongue that you remember.

You squat down to be at eye-level with it. "Eh? You know me?"

"Of you, yes. We do not know you specifically."

"We?" You glance over your shoulder to see another large spider observing the conversation.

"Oh, how pleasant. Well, I need to ask Mother something."

It is quiet for a few seconds. "Why are you telling us, Ghost Spider?"

"I lost my memory."

"Memories can be returned."

"Parts of my whole brain, is the tricky part."

"Oh." Her mandibles curl in thought.

"I think you should be able to, though I'm not sure how. Have you tried?"

You take a seat on the ground, leaning back on your palms. "I guess not. I've been pretty busy. I also got a tadpole in my brain."

"You have a lot of problems."

"Tell me about it... Hey, if things get bad do you guys got my back."

"Naturally, Ghost Spider. We have been waiting to feast on these green creatures since we hatched. If anything happens we will support you."

"That's great. What about the other Drow?" You ask.

She hisses at the mention. "The traitor? She has forsaken our Mother's name and taken on another god."

"Is... That bad?"

"I will forgive the question, since you have holes in your brain, but to betray Lolth is to guarantee the hatred of all her children."

You perk up. "Wait... So if you don't hate me then that means Lolth doesn't either?"

"I don't feel like I hate you, pale one." It states evenly.

"Promising... I'm going to go contact Mother. Mind if I just set down in that corner over there on top of all the bones?"

"Be our guest." The spiders both leave you to your task and begin stalking around the room.

You walk over to the corner and concentrate on communing with Lolth, your apparent goddess. As soon as you make the attempt you feel a crawling presence over your skin. Of all the terribly pleasurable things you have experienced, this one actually manages to be bad. You shudder and hold yourself, looking around. From the shadows you see crawling amber muck rising from the earth and building on itself. It forms and collapses and reforms until it has enough mass to begin shaping into something resembling a drow elf.

"Oh! Is it a yochlol?"

It looks at you appraisingly, its lips curled down into a fairly accurate sneer to your peoples natural disposition. She finally rests her eyes on yours and lifts a brow.

"Mother wishes to know why you are contacting her."

"I lost my memories and I wanted to know if I was on good terms with her. Truthfully, I didn't mean to cavort with Shar, I was just confused and a bit lost at the time and someone had forced me to become a cleric against my will."

She nods. "Are you saying you wish to return?"

"Well... I'm not opposed. Can I get some insights into my past? I'm guessing there were some complications with my blood being that of-"

She waved her hand flippantly. "If you had actually betrayed Mother, we would not be having this discussion."

"I feel like I might've become some type of Bhaal cultist, though." You admitted.

She smirks. "You are Szarkai. I am sure they believed very well that you were 'some type of Bhaal cultist.'"

You gasped. "I was a double agent?"

"Well... I did not say anything, certainly. Let us just say that you are a valuable child and Lolth does not hate you. You should do well to keep it that way and continue your work as a Szarkai in whatever manner you see fit." With that the figure began to dissolve back into the form it came in, then drained into the cracks of the walls.

You nod slowly in thought. `It makes sense. I thought I was some type of crazy Bhaal worshipper and I definitely was, but my upbringing as a Szarkai in the life before must have made it so that I only worshipped in name. In a sense, the blood was a perfect disguise to infiltrate the cult. To what end?`

You walk back up to the main chamber. As the goblin lets you out you push one of your needle-like nails into his neck as you rested a hand on his shoulder in thanks.

"Lolth Bless." You say brightly before thinking:

`With a painful death.` As you ascend, the goblin falls before he can lock the cage. He falls in such a way that it almost looks like he could be sleeping. You giggle.

`Oh! I'm already getting back into the swing of things. No more getting tempted by other gods.`

Barely five minutes later you find yourself removing your clothes for a cleric of Loviatar as he speaks to you in an undulating tone, his whip curled tightly within his fingers. The whip with nine tails is inherently quite terrifying of an implement, but as if to show that pain greets all equally, the handle of the whip carried many painful hooks and barbs, making it an uncomfortable item to wield.

"I could tell the moment I laid eyes on you that you were a worshipper of pain. Loviatar's eyes are upon you, child!" He cracks his whip near your back.

You lean against the wall with your legs spread and your ass poking out. "You don't have to sweet talk me; just whip me already."

"Haha!" He cackles, lashing your back.

"Ahn..." Your back arches as you feel the heat in the streaks drawn across your pale skin. So easy to leave a mark. He was trying hard, but somehow even if it hurt you felt a mix of pleasure and excitement. Maybe Loviatar really is watching you, or maybe you have always been this strange.

`The first option.`

He whips you again, your butt jutting out to catch one of the tails on the soft part of your rear. You shudder.

"Had enough yet?" He asks you, ready to stop if he finds you lacking. The question, you know, is not one of consideration. It is to find you worthy of him continuing. You of course nod your head.

"We've barely even gotten started." You identify. He grins, lashing you again and again.

"Oooh!" Your eyes roll back as the feeling of wounds being opened glows beneath your skin. The illusion of hot and cold, the numbness and vividness. You force your body to wake up, not allowing yourself to not perceive such torture.

"Oh, yes! You are magnificent!" He shouts, lashing you several more times.

When all is said and down you are sitting next to him on the altar, smoking some numbing herb while he does the same.

"That was good for me." You smile, bleeding quite obviously from your back.

"Think it might scar."

"It might. But, Loviatar would not allow such a glorious performance to pass without gratitude." He placed a hand on you. You close your eyes and feel a foreign blessing wash over you. Amidst the pain you feel strength and alertness. You can act so much better under pain than you could have before.
