Soviet, Evaine and their mage arrive in the middle of the common room, we are all eating dinner. I'd been worried they wouldn't allow her to come back. As with everyone else she is confused when she arrives and looks around for a moment and then, thankfully she smiles, that is the best way to understand she is okay.
"How did it go with Bjorn, are you okay?" I ask Evaine as soon as she takes a step and looks our way.
"Everything went better than I thought possible, and Bjorn is taking the Viscount home with him," Evaine says getting even more embarrassed that Kae's worry and attention had her blushing. She decided to deflect the attention to her left and also be a gracious host. She turns to the side and indicates Miss Fiona.
"Miss Fiona leads the council, but helped me relax and decided to transport us herself."
"Not completely selfless, I wanted to come and see you with everything that is happening." Miss Fiona answers turning towards and indicating Kae.
"Are you hungry?" Katelyn asks and she says no, "Wine?"
"Yes, thank you." Miss Fiona sits at a table nearby and waves Kae over. She looked eager.
"Do you mind if I ask you some questions and check your skills?" Looking over at a dark brownish red haired woman, green eyes and a she is staring me up and down, I sit across from her.
'She can take Tremont with her.' Grayson says and think that's a great idea.
"Hmm, can I get you to take Tremont from here to Two Rivers?" I ask as that would prevent all kinds of issues.
"I think we can make that deal, can you do to me what you do to Evaine," Miss Fiona puts both hands palm up on the table. Taking them in my hands, I run through the same routine I use on Evaine and the others, but she's already a mage so I push a little harder as she already had mana flowing inside of her, and she pulls away. "What are you doing?" Looking up at her face she is flushed, I raise an eyebrow as she has a dangerous look on her face, then it hit me that I probably should have warned her before starting.
"Oh, yeah, that is a side effect of doing this, it never happened to me when my mentor did the same but seems to raise arousal when I do it, don't worry, I'm not going to jump across the table." I smile at her and she puts her hands back slowly. She squeezes a little tighter but does a good job of not letting it show like the others do. She squints at me and takes a deep breath.
Starting over, I push the mana into her over time filling her up and holding it for a few moments and letting it go. "Okay."
"Hmmm, she takes a sip of the wine Katelyn delivered while we were doing that. "I don't know if it is the sheer amount used or you just being different."
"Tell Kae, I'll see him tomorrow," Evaine says to Beau as she heads out. She glances at the two of us and I notice.
"Hey! Thanks for everything today, better than what anyone could have expected." I say to her and she smiles and ducks out the door.
Miss Fiona uses some of the mana added to hers and delves into him, "Let's see what we have here, plant and animal spells, shield and weapon enchants, detection, control, healing, nature fast travel, and divine blessings."You have added a few from the last delving, you stated you were a Ranger when it appears you are a Druid, you have shape change, shape water, control water, wall of water, watery sphere, and you are missing the big spells in every area.
"I've always been a Ranger, Druids pray to their gods," then it hits me, "Oh, I see things changed with being brought here via the goddess Ninhersag, this explains the changes, though I didn't know about most of what you named."
"You have so much power, yet you have no spells to use it on," Fiona says more to herself than to me.
"Thanks?" I say dryly, though as a Ranger I didn't have any real spells that were devastating other than the enchants on the bow, having Allo who worked with Grayson on keeping the adversaries attention so we could take them out at range.
"Oh, not how I meant it, if you are growing, druids have many skills to grow into. Is Evaine going to show the same growth?"
"I couldn't say for sure, but if she takes to this as she did in archery, she's probably going to be stronger than I am in the next year at her rate of doing things," I answer and that seemed to get her attention.
"When she is done here and if she wants, I'd like to take her on as a student and work with her for a while." Miss Fiona sips her wine, she does the same thing I do and will sit quietly until the other person starts talking again.
'Oh stop, you do it because you like their voices and don't want to blather on, she's doing it to get you to keep divulging secrets.' Grayson says and I know he also loves being surrounded by women's voices also.
"That would be up to her," I answer, her nice face firmed up a little at that remark, I'm not actually trying to hide anything from her, but, I'm not shipping Evaine off.
"Keep in touch with her, work with her and us as allies and she will be your liaison," Cinthia says using me, Miss Fiona sits back, we were both surprised.
"I can do that," Fiona smiles at me, "this is what you meant?"
I nod, "told you, I'm just the body, they just clue me in on the little things they need done."
"Your manner of speak is the opposite of every mage I know, they'd be posturing, is this a you thing or other world mannerism?
"They are friends of mine and wouldn't put up with me taking credit for what they do, it's a manners thing." I says moving her words around.
Fiona stares at me for a moment, "Thank you Kae, I'll take care of one of your issues for you, now. Katelyn, can you show me the way to Mertil's home?" Fiona had been holding my hand the entire time, with her delving skills she was probably using the touch to check for truth.
"Oh Gods, I've been waiting so long for this, follow me." Katelyn claps her hands and gives an evil giggle. "It's happening."
"I take it you are not a fan of his?" Fiona asks her as they walk out the door.
------------------
'Wake up!' I feel a slap to my chest? "What?"
"Come downstairs, we're all there, you should be there also." Katelyn is smashed drunk.
"Do you want to take my spot?" I ask looking up at her kneeling over me.
"Don't, I promised I wouldn't jump you, and bring you down, but you are cute and naked, no, come on." She pulls on my arm and I laugh at her struggles.
"Fine, give me a moment, go on, I'll be there shortly," I get dressed enough to head to the common room after using the pot. They are all drunk, laughing and leaning into each other.
"Kae!" Beau almost shouts.
