Back at the Inn:
"Hmmm?" I feel Katelyn's hands squeeze my shoulders and everything else fails me. "Ugh." That feels, great, I was still strung pretty tight, there was a moment there when I thought I was going to get put down.
'What!? You doubted us?' Grayson chuckles, 'That was great by the way, felt good to get back out there, you doing the talking wasn't as embarrassing as we thought it would be.'
'How do you both feel, how long can you keep that up?' I ask, as I figure that they were only out and attacking for a few moments, it would be nice to know how long we have together in a scruff.'
'Same amount of time we spent the other night, figure about 15 to 20 minutes before a long rest.' Cinthia replies. 'Pay attention to Katelyn.'
"I bet you're tight after everything I saw, it was you standing up front doing everything, having people pop out of you can be stressful, trust me, I know." Katelyn laughs at her own joke and it makes me chuckle.
"I didn't get to see them so well, had my eye's on Bjorn. I know he's a bad guy but he was strangely upfront and honest about everything he said, he knew the situation."
"If you forego the stealing and raping and slave labor part of it, he could visit and play with you." Katelyn squeezed me shoulders and chuckles.
"Shut up." laughing because I get it, but there's bad and then there's evil, "I meant he wasn't an out-of-control type, could have gone badly." Leaning back I look up at her and get a kiss on the forehead.
"Made you laugh, so, yeah." She laughs again and walks into the kitchen, "Too early to get drunk?"
"Do we have any from Beau?" I yell back.
"Such a snob," Katelyn yells back. "You're lucky you saved my life a few minutes ago or I'd be offended."
"So?" I ask watching her bring two cups.
"Yes, she brought a cask over because you mentioned how good it was." Katelyn "Thanks for that, she always made me come over to get it."
Trying to take a drink, my hand was shaking to the point I just rested the cup on the top of my forearm. Katelyn watches but doesn't say anything. "You were talking about a Glade earlier?"
"A clearing in the forest, I have a small one further south that is nice, I consider this entire town a glade when you look around us on all side, there's a nice one between here and Saedin's."
"We have nothing to do today, care to show me?"
"Sounds like a great idea, you're kicking ass at distracting me."
"I know, I'll get a blanket." Katelyn's eyes sparkle to match her smile as she turns down the hall adding a little more sway to her hips.
"Why wasn't everyone excited? Beau was right, everything worked out perfectly." She yells from down the hall.
"Cinthia and Grayson making an appearance scared them." I took her from beginning to end to include what Cinthia told me.
"You pretended to be a necromancer? Well shit, I can understand them being afraid, there was a war before I was born to get rid of a bad one that took over most of this area. It is why most of the commerce and cities are to the East, we were starting up a new town to get things started again." She walks back in with a blanket.
'Did you know about that?' I ask Cinthia.
'Nah, was just winging it, would explain why it worked so well.' I hear her and Grayson laughing.
"It was to scare Bjorn's people, it stopped everything and they left."
"Of course they did." Katelyn says wiping down the table, she has these little towels she has all day, every day,.
"Well now you know Mertil and Beau trust you completely if they didn't care." She lets go of my arm and moves behind me going into a side trail. The lack of undergrowth and bushes makes walking easier and the view around us with the light rays breaking through the canopy removing most of the gloom of most forests.
"Jacob didn't budge either, I like him," I mention going over what I remember.
"Your drinking buddy? He's been a good guy since he got here, little over a year and he's been with Joan the entire time."
Walking down and past the road that turns into trail leading to Saedin's home, her arm hooked in mine, I turn her off the trail after a few minutes.
"I've never seen them talk to each other." Thinking back I can remember a few looks between them that I missed as being anything, figure Anton, Dustin and Jamison are seeing people also. No trail leads into Allo's glade, but there is enough room to just walk wherever you wish around the trees.
"They almost never, oh, wow!" Katelyn sees a small area with grass, the sun shining almost straight down into the clearing. "Give me a moment if we are going to put that down, I walk over to the grassy middle and reduce the growth of the weeds and wild flowers, will put it back before we leave. Been here for years and never saw this from the trail to Anitha's
Taking Sabina's bow, "let me get this out of the way." Should take about an hour to get the first set of enchantments sealed in. Sitting cross legged the attunement enchantment slides in like water, Focus and sturdy enchantments going in just as easy. I feel the reduction in power, but that was way too easy compared to Willow.
"That was quick, let me have yours," I repeat the same on hers and it takes a little longer but not much. I am feeling it now though, laying my head in her lap. "Need a quick nap, too tired from."
'Hey babe, maybe not do so much after we also used your power, didn't we just talk about this last night." Cinthia is looking down at me from above.
'What happened?'
"You passed out after pushing too hard, Katelyn was getting worried so I told her you were okay and just sleeping, it's time to wake up."
"Hey," I say looking up at Katelyn. "Hope I didn't worry you."
"At first yes, Cinthia was nice, you talk in you sleep, it was entertaining." She smiles and rubs my cheek.
"What did I say."
