Issue 7 -- The Liberty Family in Action
Gabi collapsed down on the sofa with a heavy sigh, it had been a long day. It started with a 5am wake-up call when the Liberty Family emergency beacon had been triggered. Followed by an intense battle with a gang of Zalovian weapons smugglers, a full day at college and then an even longer commute home thanks to a diversion around wreckage from her mother's lunchtime battle with a mecha-spider. In some ways, it was super cool being part of Liberty City's top superhero family, and if she was honest the six months since she had got powers had easily been the best of her life, but it really didn't leave much time for rest.
"How was your day darling?" Her mother asked as she entered the room. She was very much in civilian mode, wearing the white blouse and black skirt she'd worn in court when fighting her latest case earlier in the day.
From the way she looked there was no way to tell her mother was also Lady Liberty, and as far as Gabi knew, no one else since Poison Lily had guessed that the city's premier lawyer and premier superheroine were in fact one and the same. As she'd often said, their skimpy costumes not only made them look good and bring in the fans and marketing money, but it also meant people tended not to look at their faces all that much!
Still Poison Lily had got lucky, even if it had been thanks to her affinity with plants, so they protected their secret identities above all else. Doing all they can to make sure they just seemed like a normal family, living perfectly normal lives. So Gabi just hoped there was no way to tell that as well as being one of the top students at Liberty City Science, that she was also Liberty Girl - Lady Liberty's most beloved sidekick (at least to Gabi's mind).
"I'm fine Mom..." Gabi replied. "Just tired. If we could ask the police chief not to light the beacon before seven in the morning that would be great."
"You know as well as I do Gabi, crime never sleeps." Her mother replied slightly sternly.
"Yeah, well. I'm pretty sure superheroines need to."
Before her mother could reply with another mild scolding, four other young women, all just a bit younger than Gabi walked into the living room. Just like her and her mother, they were all superpowered and they made up the rest of the Liberty Family. First there were her two sisters and her cousin, all of whom who got their powers in the same way Gabi had in their encounter with Poison Lily, though none of them ever talked about that now following the very clear rules their mother had laid down.
That of course didn't stop Gabi thinking about it...a lot...especially when she was alone and with her fingers buried in her pussy. She knew it was wrong and hardly the behaviour of a superheroine, but a week never went by when she didn't frig herself off at least a couple of times to the incredible orgy she'd had with her family. She just couldn't help it. Yet knowing how wrong it was she just had to keep it private, let none of the others know how desperate she was to do it again.
Those incredible days hadn't just given her months of masturbatory fantasies but their superpowers too, and once things had calmed down the next day, they'd all figured out exactly what powers they all had. Gabi herself had most of her mother's powers with flight, super-strength and super-toughness. Sadly she'd missed out on the super-speed and the eye lasers but she still felt she got the best three powers, the real classics.
Bethany, her cousin, had the power to control and manipulate shadows, almost magically creating energy blasts or even temporary objects made of shadow. That had been a surprise to Gabi and the others, not like their powers at all, but for some reason, her mother thought it made sense but never really explained why. They were at least super cool and very useful, so Gabi didn't question it too much. Her cousin could somehow even manipulate shadows to let her fly, leaving a trail of dissipating inky blackness behind her in a badass way.
Eva, the eldest of her two sisters, found she could fly and wield powerful blue energy blasts that seemed related to their mother's own laser eyes but even more powerful -- she could devastate whole squads of robot goons in mere moments. Ashley, their youngest sister found out she had incredible super-speed that was even faster than their mother, able to cover a mile in just a couple of seconds once she got up to full speed.
Of course, her mother had been incredibly overprotective and made them all train for weeks before Liberty Girl and the others made their public debuts, it had been frustrating but now with a few months of superheroing behind her she realised how important it had been, ensuring they were ready. So after a few early victories over supervillainy, the media and people of the city embraced them all -- quickly naming them The Liberty Family. After that, she at least tried to listen to her mother when it came to the business of being a heroine, as it seemed she at least knew something about it.
The last women to enter the room was her new best friend and the latest addition to the family. They'd met her a couple of months before, when they'd discovered a rogue government-sponsored lab that had been experimenting on young people who had potential meta-genes. They'd easily beaten up the sadistic scientists and rescued their last surviving subject, a girl about Ashley's age called Katy. With nowhere to go and no one else in her life, she moved in with them as she learned about her own powers. She'd quickly become their friend, even Gabi's best friend, and soon like just another sister, joined them in fighting evil using the powers the scientists had unlocked.
"Hey!" Gabi called out to them as they entered.
They all greeted her in turn as they sat on various sofas around the large and well-appointed living room, the nicest of the three they had in their large house. The combination of a top lawyer's salary and Liberty Family sponsorship meant that whilst they might lead busy lives, they certainly lived them in luxury, moving from their smaller dwelling a few months before.
