Simon was hesitant when Advisor Michael had said there needed to be a psychic reading, but now that he was looking at his features on a small metallic card his eyes glittered with curiosity.
The procedure was fast and painless, a disembodied voice had asked him to scan his soul, another thing that made him stop for a second. But after cajoling some from Michael, he relented and had himself scanned. Not to mention the voice themselves seemed to be very careful and polite. Afterward, Michael brought out two metallic objects and handed them to him, a knowing smirk on his face.
"See, my boy! I knew you would appreciate the [Status Screen]." the man gave out a boisterous chuckle as Simon was looking intently down at his own [Status screen].
"Are the abilities listed, all things I can do?" Simon's eyes shifted from the metallic card to the man in front of him.
"Largely, yes." came the answer.
Simon tilted his head.
"Largely?"
"Well. You see, the technology is relatively new and the database still has some holes in it. Maybe there are other things you can do that are not listed on the card. But if it is on the card, then odds are you can do it." Michael answered.
"Database?" Simon could not catch the terms being thrown around and asked the first question that popped into his mind.
Michael also looked back at him in confusion but then his eyes widened in realization.
"It is jargon that means that the information that is used to make the [Status Screen] is not perfect and so the card might not list all your abilities."
Simon still did not grasp the entire picture but he could understand enough to realize that there could be more things he could do.
His eyes turned to the other [Status Screen] and sure enough, it held the status of Amy.

As he read through the screen, a realization hit him. If the things on the screen were known information, then the school could help figure out his abilities.
He turned to his advisor and asked.
"Can you teach me how to use my abilities?"
This time a bellowing laugh escaped the advisor as he looked at Simon.
"Good! Good. That curiosity will take you far in life. Never lose that. But temperance is also a virtue, and right now we need to get you processed for school. The semester has already started you see and we need to get you into class and quickly. But the answer is yes, our school can and will teach you how to harness your power but all in good time."
As he finished his statement Simon heard another voice from behind.
"Is he done?"
It was the catgirl, Bella, from earlier Her head was slightly bowed as she addressed Michael.
"Yes. He has passed the evaluation. Now take him to be fitted and then to the semester advisor. Tell him that the boy needs to start the beginner course. Also to add him to the elite class."
His tone turned harsh and stony as he moved to address the cat girl.
Bella, however, only gave him a silly salute before carefully nudging him, trying to keep away from the happy puppy in Simon's lap.
"Come on! We have lots to do and not a lot of time to do it!"
Simon shoved the puppy off his lap who gave out a surprised yelp as she tried to find her footing.
Simon was already to take in this chapter of his life. The talk with Michael only solidified that his dad had done the right thing to send him here. The gentleman in question went back to his book as he stood up.
"Alright, let us go."
Then he left the room with a barking puppy who was annoyed at her master.
"Hmm. Good luck Simon. You will need it."
Words were mumbled as the boy left the room, heard only by the speaker and his two bonded. Only time would tell how this new greater human stacked against the rest of the monsters that made up the elite class.
Chapter 21:A hectic day.
Simon was now standing in front of the library for his final act for today and was beyond mentally exhausted.
First, he had to go to the tailors to get his school robes made which took an hour or so where he had to completely still and then wait to have the clothes made on the spot. At least he had a very bouncy arachne to look at while it was all going on.
The next action was even more tiring when he was asked to choose some extra courses to add on top of the compulsory ones. That was another couple of hours or so as he chose magic, survival, and combat as his extra courses after a big dumb of pros and cons dumped on him. In this one at least a petite psychic had his mind kept level.
While he was doing all this he was taken to different parts of the Planar University grounds to get him more accustomed to where everything was which was another drain on his rapidly draining mental capacity. Physically he was frustratingly fine, if he was pushed he could probably go on for another week. But he was completely out of it at this point and just wanted to get things done
Now he was finally seeing the end. Amy was having a blast running around everywhere and the cat girl Bella seemed to have an infinite store of energy but he had neither and he just wanted to get home and crash on the bed. But before that, he had one more stop. Getting his books evaluated and here he was.
"Last stop on the Bella express!"
Simon could only groan a response while Amy playfully barked along. Bella had lost quite a bit of her wariness against Amy when she barely even reacted to the cat girl even when she made a forgetful impact on the playful puppy. All she got in exchange was an annoyed yip.
He entered the hall uncaring by all the random stares he received. It was like that the entire and he no longer had the mood to even give a response.
They came up with another Psychic flair, one who was doing a sexy librarian routine. Every Psychic Flair he had met had some sort of eye-catching routine and despite their overall modest build they often managed to catch his eye. But right now he could not give the purple-haired three-eyed cute barely legal-looking monster girl a proper response. Without any preamble plopped the bag he had been carrying all day onto the desk.
The petite monster girl in her raunchy library uniform gave him a raised eyebrow before Bella cut in.
