Authors Note: For those who have not read my bio, please note I write as a form of therapy for a Traumatic Brain Injury. I know the English majors will probably encounter issues that annoy them. If these are your focus, instead of the story itself, then this is not the story for you. I am not and will never be a professional writer.
I do it to tell the story, for those who wish to read them. I originally submitted this story back in August of 2018. I have worked to try and improve my writing style while struggling with this issue. I have added some editing software and written a few other stories. Now I am revising and editing this earlier work to try and bring it up to a higher standard from what I have managed to learn over the last few years.
Prologue
Septa 1st 7326
Jazzia Silvertree was born first to Amy Silvertree. Followed by her twin sisters. Visha Silvertree the future enchantresses, and Sisha Silvertree the future arcane archer. Like the other children, they were given an amulet of poison protection.
Septa 1st 7341
Jazzia Silvertree removed her amulet and took up the family blade and a holy symbol to Corellon Larethian. The new amulet attached in the King's Audience chamber as she drew the blade. Her Great Aunt the Duchess took her into training immediately.
Octa 10th 7346
The call for the Blade holders came. Goldeagle, General of the Elven army led the assault. Every Shadow Rider, dragon mage, and dragon rider trained was brought into the fight. General Tranosa led the shadow riders. Angel led the Dragon mages and riders.
A call came in pleading for help from the 'Queen's granddaughter.' Griffon's Peak finally needed to be addressed. They knew this was likely a trap. Details of the fight were classified by the Kingdom. Tranosa Dusk Moon, Instructor Moon Bow, Grand Master Strong Oak, and Army General Goldeagle died in the fight. The strain over losing her nephew was too much for the Queen Mother and she died 2 days later.
Half-dragon from every mother lost one except for Majisa. Her son being hailed a hero for putting the killing blow into Matroxxxa. The Draco-lich was not present. Countess Amy Silvertree lost all four of her firstborn children in the engagement. All of the blades were in new hands within a week of the funerals. Angel did not survive the battle and her body was brought home by Angel's husband of two days. As was Gia's body.
Deca 7th 7356
Jazzia disarms her Aunt for the first time with 15 years under her belt. Over the next 15 years, she honed her skills even further. Taking on four Grand Master blade singers at a time and disarming them eighty percent of the time by her 20th year.
While winning every single contest against 3-4 multiple opponents after 24 years. She was strong, patient, a charmer, highly intelligent, and lightning-fast with a blade or a spell without haste. She rarely needed healing as her wounds closed up over minutes and not the seconds his Great Grandfather experienced.
Septa 1st 7371
The youngest Grand Master in the history of the Academy graduated. The Capital Blade Singer Council was not impressed by the precedence. Thus far they had not been informed she was a champion.
Septa 3rd 7371
Duchess Silvertree fell to an orc assassin's poisoned bolt walking along the wall at the border. The poison was something new. It appears to be a combined version of the drow paralysis venom with the necrotic poison. The assassin was killed. He was found on the wrong side of the wall and an examination found a tunnel.
The new commanding General of the Gray Blades Goldeagle took matters into his own hands and pockets. Buying dwarven explosives. They dropped them over the wall and found a series of tunnels having been built across the valley. He orders a dropping of ten percent of the wartime reserves across the valley exposing and burying the tunnels.
Casters went out with earthquake spells and buried them further and the valley was torched to remove any foliage for them to hide behind. The druids were not pleased. The Elven King issues a directive to the druids to not interfere or be declared enemy combatants in the upcoming war.
The druids disappear deeper into the woods held by the wild elves. Though not all of them were welcomed and several ended up dead, those not of elven-blood were killed before peace could be reached between them.
The Duchess's Eldest Son Bresan Silvertree was now the Duke over the area. He had little interest in the mercenary company and left them to their own affairs. He enjoyed spending time in court and put an immediate end to death benefits. Two weeks later the Duke was replaced by the next eldest, his twin sister Duchess Giria Silvertree.
She was a battle mage who restored the benefits and took up an active role as the Garrison General and head of the local Academy. Bresan had been caught embezzling funds. A first for a Silvertree on this branch.
He was imprisoned with his assets stripped to replace the losses. The new Duchess disowned him and his recent wife from the family. A Gold elf who was known as 'Gold.' A grandchild of the Goldbar family which had been hidden by the couple until the embezzlement was uncovered.
Jazzia Silvertree became the youngest Master Trainer. Her position was challenged by the head of the Blade Singer Council. A three-time champion of the city Academy Grand Master Golden Rod. His tournament wins occurred after the Academies separated the tournaments between the Academies.
---
Jazzia looked at him, "You wish to challenge me. The ring is to go to the student of the Master Trainer they deemed worthy. You are challenging the Gods' will. Set the field if you are determined to set this course. But if you do and you lose, you will also surrender your seat on the Blade Singer Council as well. The choice is yours."
The Head Grand Maser looked over, "I will not be intimidated by a child. Set the field to tier 3."
The Head Grand Master yielded the field in addition to his position 30 seconds later. He has a sliced hamstring, Achilles tendon, his casting hand had been cut off, and the main vein on his weapon arm cut to the bone and he bled badly. Jazzia never turned Moon Fire on in order to let the fool bleed.
He laid there and she looked him in the eyes and whispered, "You just challenged the new champion to Corellon Larethian. You challenged the Gods and you will have to seek atonement before you teach or cast a spell again."
Golden Rod turned white at that revelation. The King summoned Jazzia to the Palace. He looked over the young Master Trainer after calling her forward, "Your draconic bloodline is becoming more predominant. To those that do not know, and that is most in the Kingdom. She is not an adult, but she is the new Champion of Corellon Larethian.
I have known this for certain for 30 years. She should be respected as the former head of the Blade Singer Council found out earlier today. When he challenged her ability to be the Master Trainer and the fight was over in seconds according to my sources. With him near death from loss of blood."
The court was stunned into silence. The King also presented her with a set of glasses, "Your grandfather's design. May they serve you well Master Trainer."
She bowed before him. "I never turned Moon Fire on the blade. I would have ended it quicker if I had and potentially in his death. Instead, he bled from his wounds and they were extensive. He will be atoning for his actions for some time to come. Thank you for the present, Your Majesty."
No further challenges came after that and the other Blade Singer's heard from the Grand Cleric for Corellon Larethian that Golden Rod had to spend a year atoning for his actions on top of everything else. His wounds were healed by the church, his hand regenerated. The Grand Master though surrendered being a Blade Singer and turned in his ring, which was destroyed in the Eternal Forge.
This was a year later having failed to complete the atonement to the Gods' satisfaction. He refused to publicly apologize in open court to the child, champion, or not. He left the elven Kingdom and was killed by thugs in Grand Falls two weeks later in a rundown bar on the shady side of town trying to hire an assassin to kill a 'child.'
The Champions Code
Septa 1 7400
Jazzia had just finished a grueling day of training with her 3 apprentices. Once again, she was forced to remind them that they were not competing with each other or her, but their own abilities and shortcomings. Sometimes she thought the strain of this training would drive her crazy. She showered and climbed into bed.
She spoke to herself, "I am a Master Trainer. I am still not an adult in the eyes of elven society. They do not know what to make of me. I know how my grandfather felt because I do not fall into a given box."
She fell asleep with all of those concerns coursing through her mind. She found herself under a Silvertree near the Falls as she sat and looked at the water. She heard several sets of footsteps. She had been told that she was a champion but the gods had thus far not contacted her directly.
She looked over and saw the images of three elven men. The first was dressed in full plate and spoke to her, "Hello my daughter."
She looked at him. "You are the spirit of my father Travious?"
He nodded, "This one is the spirit of my father Brannar and like you was a gestalt. While not a champion he can most closely relate to some of your troubles. The other is Eldar, the first champion to wield that blade. We have come to aid you in establishing a code of conduct."
