Authors Note: For those who have not read my bio, please note I write as a form of therapy for a Traumatic Brain Injury. I know the English majors will probably encounter issues that annoy them. If these are your focus, instead of the story itself, then this is not the story for you. I am not and will never be a professional writer.

I do it to tell the story, for those who wish to read them. I originally submitted this story back in August of 2018. I have worked to try and improve my writing style while struggling with this issue. I have added some editing software and written a few other stories. Now I am revising and editing this earlier work to try and bring it up to a higher standard from what I have managed to learn over the last few years.

Prologue

Septa 1st 7326

Jazzia Silvertree was born first to Amy Silvertree. Followed by her twin sisters. Visha Silvertree the future enchantresses, and Sisha Silvertree the future arcane archer. Like the other children, they were given an amulet of poison protection.

Septa 1st 7341

Jazzia Silvertree removed her amulet and took up the family blade and a holy symbol to Corellon Larethian. The new amulet attached in the King's Audience chamber as she drew the blade. Her Great Aunt the Duchess took her into training immediately.

Octa 10th 7346

The call for the Blade holders came. Goldeagle, General of the Elven army led the assault. Every Shadow Rider, dragon mage, and dragon rider trained was brought into the fight. General Tranosa led the shadow riders. Angel led the Dragon mages and riders.

A call came in pleading for help from the 'Queen's granddaughter.' Griffon's Peak finally needed to be addressed. They knew this was likely a trap. Details of the fight were classified by the Kingdom. Tranosa Dusk Moon, Instructor Moon Bow, Grand Master Strong Oak, and Army General Goldeagle died in the fight. The strain over losing her nephew was too much for the Queen Mother and she died 2 days later.

Half-dragon from every mother lost one except for Majisa. Her son being hailed a hero for putting the killing blow into Matroxxxa. The Draco-lich was not present. Countess Amy Silvertree lost all four of her firstborn children in the engagement. All of the blades were in new hands within a week of the funerals. Angel did not survive the battle and her body was brought home by Angel's husband of two days. As was Gia's body.

Deca 7th 7356

Jazzia disarms her Aunt for the first time with 15 years under her belt. Over the next 15 years, she honed her skills even further. Taking on four Grand Master blade singers at a time and disarming them eighty percent of the time by her 20th year.

While winning every single contest against 3-4 multiple opponents after 24 years. She was strong, patient, a charmer, highly intelligent, and lightning-fast with a blade or a spell without haste. She rarely needed healing as her wounds closed up over minutes and not the seconds his Great Grandfather experienced.

Septa 1st 7371

The youngest Grand Master in the history of the Academy graduated. The Capital Blade Singer Council was not impressed by the precedence. Thus far they had not been informed she was a champion.

Septa 3rd 7371

Duchess Silvertree fell to an orc assassin's poisoned bolt walking along the wall at the border. The poison was something new. It appears to be a combined version of the drow paralysis venom with the necrotic poison. The assassin was killed. He was found on the wrong side of the wall and an examination found a tunnel.

The new commanding General of the Gray Blades Goldeagle took matters into his own hands and pockets. Buying dwarven explosives. They dropped them over the wall and found a series of tunnels having been built across the valley. He orders a dropping of ten percent of the wartime reserves across the valley exposing and burying the tunnels.

Casters went out with earthquake spells and buried them further and the valley was torched to remove any foliage for them to hide behind. The druids were not pleased. The Elven King issues a directive to the druids to not interfere or be declared enemy combatants in the upcoming war.

The druids disappear deeper into the woods held by the wild elves. Though not all of them were welcomed and several ended up dead, those not of elven-blood were killed before peace could be reached between them.

The Duchess's Eldest Son Bresan Silvertree was now the Duke over the area. He had little interest in the mercenary company and left them to their own affairs. He enjoyed spending time in court and put an immediate end to death benefits. Two weeks later the Duke was replaced by the next eldest, his twin sister Duchess Giria Silvertree.

She was a battle mage who restored the benefits and took up an active role as the Garrison General and head of the local Academy. Bresan had been caught embezzling funds. A first for a Silvertree on this branch.

He was imprisoned with his assets stripped to replace the losses. The new Duchess disowned him and his recent wife from the family. A Gold elf who was known as 'Gold.' A grandchild of the Goldbar family which had been hidden by the couple until the embezzlement was uncovered.

Jazzia Silvertree became the youngest Master Trainer. Her position was challenged by the head of the Blade Singer Council. A three-time champion of the city Academy Grand Master Golden Rod. His tournament wins occurred after the Academies separated the tournaments between the Academies.

---

Jazzia looked at him, "You wish to challenge me. The ring is to go to the student of the Master Trainer they deemed worthy. You are challenging the Gods' will. Set the field if you are determined to set this course. But if you do and you lose, you will also surrender your seat on the Blade Singer Council as well. The choice is yours."

The Head Grand Maser looked over, "I will not be intimidated by a child. Set the field to tier 3."

The Head Grand Master yielded the field in addition to his position 30 seconds later. He has a sliced hamstring, Achilles tendon, his casting hand had been cut off, and the main vein on his weapon arm cut to the bone and he bled badly. Jazzia never turned Moon Fire on in order to let the fool bleed.

He laid there and she looked him in the eyes and whispered, "You just challenged the new champion to Corellon Larethian. You challenged the Gods and you will have to seek atonement before you teach or cast a spell again."

Golden Rod turned white at that revelation. The King summoned Jazzia to the Palace. He looked over the young Master Trainer after calling her forward, "Your draconic bloodline is becoming more predominant. To those that do not know, and that is most in the Kingdom. She is not an adult, but she is the new Champion of Corellon Larethian.

I have known this for certain for 30 years. She should be respected as the former head of the Blade Singer Council found out earlier today. When he challenged her ability to be the Master Trainer and the fight was over in seconds according to my sources. With him near death from loss of blood."

The court was stunned into silence. The King also presented her with a set of glasses, "Your grandfather's design. May they serve you well Master Trainer."

She bowed before him. "I never turned Moon Fire on the blade. I would have ended it quicker if I had and potentially in his death. Instead, he bled from his wounds and they were extensive. He will be atoning for his actions for some time to come. Thank you for the present, Your Majesty."

No further challenges came after that and the other Blade Singer's heard from the Grand Cleric for Corellon Larethian that Golden Rod had to spend a year atoning for his actions on top of everything else. His wounds were healed by the church, his hand regenerated. The Grand Master though surrendered being a Blade Singer and turned in his ring, which was destroyed in the Eternal Forge.

This was a year later having failed to complete the atonement to the Gods' satisfaction. He refused to publicly apologize in open court to the child, champion, or not. He left the elven Kingdom and was killed by thugs in Grand Falls two weeks later in a rundown bar on the shady side of town trying to hire an assassin to kill a 'child.'

The Champions Code

Septa 1 7400

Jazzia had just finished a grueling day of training with her 3 apprentices. Once again, she was forced to remind them that they were not competing with each other or her, but their own abilities and shortcomings. Sometimes she thought the strain of this training would drive her crazy. She showered and climbed into bed.

She spoke to herself, "I am a Master Trainer. I am still not an adult in the eyes of elven society. They do not know what to make of me. I know how my grandfather felt because I do not fall into a given box."

She fell asleep with all of those concerns coursing through her mind. She found herself under a Silvertree near the Falls as she sat and looked at the water. She heard several sets of footsteps. She had been told that she was a champion but the gods had thus far not contacted her directly.

She looked over and saw the images of three elven men. The first was dressed in full plate and spoke to her, "Hello my daughter."

She looked at him. "You are the spirit of my father Travious?"

He nodded, "This one is the spirit of my father Brannar and like you was a gestalt. While not a champion he can most closely relate to some of your troubles. The other is Eldar, the first champion to wield that blade. We have come to aid you in establishing a code of conduct."

She looked at them, "How did you do it?"

Eldar chuckled and spoke first, "It was thrust upon me by my ideas. To help save elven society. I was the champion of change who stopped a war."

Brannar looked at her, "I was never a champion but the blade was thrust upon me by the challenge of fighting the lich and getting answers that resided in the Blade Wielder's journal. Some questions I did not have or want to know. Which is why I changed what my father set out to do.

Set it to record relevant history, instead of scaring you and others for life with every sexual encounter he wrote about with those consorts. I was not very good with the blade but I was a thinker. I revealed the challenges.

I prepared our people for the greater and hidden threats within the Council of Nine. I took my father's concerns hidden in that journal and made them my own and expanded upon them. I freed the Knights from the corrupted Dragon Council of Nine and recovered the Eternal Forge by recreating the Alliance of old with the metallics."

Travious looked at her, "Like you, I was born to the blade. My mother made the selection for me. I made it for you by the Gods' request. Being a champion is a burden but you will find the burden lightened by the support of your spouses or lovers."

She sighed and looked at him, "I was not even sure if I should pursue a mate given the history of my grandfather and you in not being there for them."

Travious smiled, "We may not be there for you in a physical sense, but we are here to encourage and inspire you."

Eldar looked at her, "Your skill with the blade is better than my own. Better than my daughter that I trained and who trained you. You have a speed with the blade and tracking of targets on a battlefield not seen by the others. Your power came quickly and you are a master in both of your classes like my son. You will have to adapt to multiple battlefields.

From Dragons, Drow, Orcs, and the various courts. That is why you need to form your own code. The Lady of Dreams will be here soon to help you finalize the code but we are here to guide you in its creation. The first part deals with finding and keeping a husband.

She looked at them, "My prowess in bed should be normal."

Travious chuckled, "That was my hope for you in keeping constitution off of your necklace; that did not happen. Given your regenerative abilities."

Eldar spoke, "They are slower than mine, which bodes well for you."

She nodded, "This assumes I take a mate. I have no requirement to marry."

They sighed. Travious spoke, "Having children is why the sword checks for fertility."

She looked at him, "Just because a sword wants it does not mean it will happen. How much would you have gotten done while bearing children? Carrying and being off the field to protect them? I was given no choice in this matter; my future was selected by others. Not me and not by you but by the Gods' direction."

Travious sighed and continued as if she had said nothing, "You have to be there for them to be born being a woman. The sword will look to your children above all others. It also means you have to keep your family name."

Eldar saw the futility in what the Lady of Dreams wanted from them and smiled, "I know what it is like to be a bastard child. I would still wish that feeling on nobody. Listen and talk with the Lady. I can see your anger and frustration." Eldar faded away quickly.

Brannar looked to address the other issues, "Having more than one mate is unknown to me. I won't address that issue at all. I won't argue the merits of having children given how short my children's lives were. I would tell you to stop worrying about trying to fit in a box and defining what you are. Instead, focus on who you are to yourself instead. That is what is most important."

With that final piece of advice, Brannar faded away. Travious looked at her, "Consider adopting aspects of my code into your own. Start searching for those who you can marry. You should give birth twice before war hits if you marry soon after you become of age. Even with the year dry spell.

Remember there will be many battles but focus on the ones the gods direct you to. That was a hard challenge for me. When you are needed you will be directed to another battle. This will be a chaotic life and visits home will be sporadic and likely only be for a few days at a time for many years.

Do not divine your children's destinies. Let them grow into them on their own. Remember we are all with you, as a small piece of us resides in the blade you wield. You will not fight every war or be there to finish every battle. You will help to turn the tide and potentially deal with opposing champions. We all do love you."

She found herself alone. She stood and walked to the falls. She kneeled to pray but spoke out loud, "Thank you for the guidance of my elders even though they refused to listen to a damned thing I had to say. Brannar being the only one who offered any real advice worth considering."

The Lady of Dreams walked up behind her, "I can sense your frustration. We had hoped the previous wielders would be able to help guide you to find love. What do you wish to do in regards to your code?"

She looked at her, "I do not wish to have a code. I live by the Blade Singer Code and that is enough."

She sighed and motioned for Jazzia to sit. She looked at Jazzia, "We did not expect this battle to be yours but your fathers. He changed so much, so fast, that it changed both of your destinies."

Jazzia looked at her, "If I have a choice then I choose nothing to do with the paladin's code."

She looked at Jazzia, "I know Melia is good to you."

Jazzia nodded, "You also know my mother ran off, was never home, married another, and died within days. Leaving my siblings and me behind without either of our parents. At least his mother was actively involved in his life for 46 years. Why is this so important? Others can take up the sword when I die."

She sighed, "Perhaps. If the elves are not extinct before then. If your house has not fallen back into corruption. Some corruption has already surfaced. You saw what happened to your cousin."

She nodded, "I will not argue that point as I cannot control the actions of others, I am not even an adult and effecting change in my students is challenging enough. A society that sees me as a child first and champion eventually is another matter. That is the Gods' mistake, having underaged champions whom nobody will listen to.

Fighting corruption has not been instilled in any elven house. Eldar came the closet and we see how well that is working. What was my father's comment about not purposefully including a health boost but me having regeneration? Can you explain that?"

She nodded. "Just because he did not ask for the enchantment it does not mean it did not get the enchantment. The enchanter who crafted it just considered it a bonus not knowing it was not wanted by your father."

She looked at her, "Divine intervention? So I can blame you for fucking me over."

The Lady of dreams sighed, "We did not 'fuck you over' we saw that it would be needed and we ensured it had it. Getting the poison immunity being his triumph in getting his Master status. He was hoping you would get the delay poison touch he had. Which you do have but it is limited to only a few times a day. Part of that was divine in nature for your father being a paladin.

Which is why it is limited on an arcane. Instead, you got slight increases in all of your physical abilities. Part of the regeneration comes from the other two champions; a constitution increase was part of your genetics.

The previous amulets not only affected the champion but all future offspring from Eldar who were conceived after the amulet was put into place, something we had not predicted. He figured correctly with two classes dependent on different attributes they would be highest. He wanted you to be balanced. You are a little more than balanced."

She looked at the Lady of Dreams, "You can say you did not fuck me over with the amulet, but you did in my eyes. Will I be in this conflict?"

She looked at Jazzia, "Once these 3 students graduate you will turn the ring over to the one who shows the most promise. Your days as a trainer will be over as you will be needed in the field."

Jazzia looked at her, "Is that not a violation of the Blade Singer code? All the more reason not to marry if I am going into this conflict."

She smiled, "Not in this case because being reverent to Corellon Larethian is the first priority in protecting the elven people."

She looked at her, "My brother is the best student of the three. On par with my Aunt. I do not compare him to me because he is not a fucked up gestalt like Brannar and me."

The Lady of Dreams worked to control her temper with her and simply smiled, "He is an excellent choice that we knew you would make. He will train many using your guidance and refinements to the previous trainers including your Great Grandfather.

As alluded to, you could give birth twice before the war begins if you marry quickly. You are expected in the fight. Your children will be less susceptible to corruption if you marry for love. I know your heart. There is someone you are in love with."

She sighed, "Would not matter. The rules for half Dragons that were established would require him to claim the children."

She looked at Jazzia, "Unless it is written into your code."

Jazzia rolled her eyes, "I am not agreeing to another code. I would have to be a second or third wife. The first wife taking care of the children."
