Friday...
The Golden Scroll busted into multiple sparkles, illuminating James' bedroom with bright golden light.
Of course, the knowledge about scroll creation had been lost a long time ago, but according to legends, it was one of the most respected professions in ancient times.
There were many types of scrolls like the Blood Scroll; this scroll was also known as the Red Scroll due to its appearance; the creation of this Red Scroll required blood as an ingredient.
In the same way, one could use fragments of their soul to create a scroll known as the Soul Scroll. This type of scroll was golden in color, which also earned it the name Golden Scroll; it could hold any kind of knowledge or secret within it.
But the most important use of the Soul Scroll was to hold powerful spiritual weapons, spiritual herbs, and most importantly spiritual essence.
Of course, the more powerful thing that is placed within the scroll, the more soul energy it would consume.
Even though the creation and use of the Soul Scroll demanded extreme sacrifice, the most important thing was the fragment of the soul also ensured that the scroll reached the hand of the right person.
In ancient times, while it was rare, it was still being practiced to create and use the Soul Scroll to make sure only a certain person received the item within that scroll.
But again, the strength and quality of the Soul Scroll depended on its creator's soul powers; if the soul of its creator was strong, the soul fragment could also manifest in spirit form to deliver a certain message, or to perform a certain task, on behalf of the creator of the scroll.
The bright golden light slowly started to recede; at first, the form appeared abstract, but gradually, it started to shape into a humanoid form— corporeal humanoid form, to be accurate.
The more the light dimmed, the more human-like the shape appeared to become; eventually, one could see the form of an old man.
If one looked closely, the old man had the same facial features as Immortal Emperor Han Wu.
The ghostly being looked at unconscious James, only to notice a bright gold and silver aura being emitted by the young man's body, a clear indication of the clash of Real-Life Yin Essence and Real-Life Yang Essence.
A thin smile appeared on the ghostly figure's face; after all, the presence of Real-Life Yang Essence within the body of this young man was a clear indication that his brother had kept his word, and that Real-Life Yin Essence had also entered the body of the young man; it was time for him to act.
The hands of the corporeal old man quickly moved and he pressed them against the chest of unconscious James, to stabilize his body while making sure the proper merger of Real Life Yin and Yang Essence.
At first, nothing happened, but after a few moments, James' erratic breathing became calm, the gold and silver hue on his skin started to decrease, and eventually his skin tone became even. Once James' body was calm, the corporeal old man removed his hands from James' chest and took hold of the wooden box.
The ghostly figure charged a powerful energy pulse into the wooden box, forcing it to wither away, revealing a blue Qilin statue that was hidden within the box.
The ghostly old man took hold of the statue and looked at James. After observing James for a few moments, he placed his one hand over James' body and his fingers started to dance to some invincible tune.
Suddenly, one frozen and withered Lotus-like object came into existence. Since all its petals were gone, and it had also run out of its Extreme Yin Spiritual energy, it was barely existing, of course, the ghostly figure was quick to recognize the Jade Lotus and how it might have been used as a cauldron to hold the Real Life Yang Essence, which made sense, since he had used the Soul Scroll to hold his Real- Life Yin Essence.
The ghostly figure was about to discard the withered Yin Lotus, but suddenly it noticed multiple Yin Strands that were originating from the withering lotus and binding the young man in what could be said was an illusion.
This was shocking, since it was never part of his plan!
The spirit of the old man observed the Yin Strands, which were nine in total.
'NINE MOON ILLUSION Technique', the ghostly being was shocked if such a thing were even possible, since this was a powerful illusion method; only those who have reached the rank of Immortal Emperor or above, could cast this illusion!
This meant only one thing— the illusion was cast by his brother since he had asked his brother to only come back when he had reached the level of Immortal Emperor, but the question was why? And what was the purpose of this illusion?
But before he could look further into it, suddenly, the blue Qilin statue moved and absorbed the remains of the Jade Lotus, along with those nine Yin Strands that were creating an illusion around the young man.
This was, again, shocking for the ghostly being, since from the very start, things were going off the track, but the expression of panic only appeared for a brief moment and then it was gone, and replaced by serene peace.
'You could defy heaven, but you cannot defy your destiny!'
With that thought, again the silhouette weaved his hands and the Qilin statue moved toward James' head, and once it touched James' head, it released a blinding blue light and turned into a corporeal form similar to the silhouette and entered James' head.
The ghostly being looked at the young man lying unconscious before him with a saddened expression, and mouthed a 'sorry'; the silhouette turned into a golden sparkle that disappeared into thin air.
...
He wasn't sure where he was, but he knew he was there. He couldn't see anything, but he wasn't sure why. Whether it was the darkness that was obstructing his vision, or did he lack the ability to see?
There was no sound, maybe he had lost his hearing; the same could be said about his sense of smell since there was none.
Of course, this kind of confiscated sense of existence scared him. He knew he was alive, yet not living!
This lack of sense frustrated him and he gathered all of his courage to scream his lungs out, and tried to do so, but again there was no sound coming out of him.
Where the hell was he? Why the hell was he at whatever this place was? And above all this, why was he here?
That last question triggered a memory of him touching the Golden Scroll and the feeling of mind-numbing coldness, and immediately his senses returned; he was standing before what one could consider a snow mountain.
He was standing on the snow, without any clothes on his body, which just increased the sense of being frozen, if such a thing were even possible!
But even before he could question where he was, or the absurdity of the situation, the entire landscape changed, and suddenly, he was in the middle of a desert, surrounded by extreme heat and burning sand.
'Fuck! What the hell is going on?'
He could feel the fiery hotness that was trying to burn him. But again, the scenario changed and he was standing on what appeared to be a crystalline ice slab while surrounded by a towering ice glacier. 'What the...?!'
This time, even before he could have a coherent thought, again the scenario changed; he was then falling inside a pit that was brimming with red-hot lava.
'Wha...?!'
Before he could hit the lava, again his surroundings changed. He was in what could be described as vast darkness, there was nothing around him except a moon-like object that was slowly increasing in size.
'Fuck, what?!' He was surprised by the way the moon was growing, and only when it had reached the size of the sun, did he realize what was happening— it wasn't increasing in size; instead, the moon was coming toward him with intense speed!
'Oh god no...!'
But again before he could complete that thought, a bright yellow light started to burn his back, so he quickly turned around only to find the sun behind him, which was also coming toward him from the opposite side.
'Oh, hell no!!!'
One part of his body was cold due to the effect of the moon-like thing, while the side which was facing the sun was extremely hot.
He wasn't sure what to do, with a moon-like thing coming toward him from his left side, and a sun-like object coming toward him from the right. He was in the middle of it. Of course, he was scared; he wanted to escape from this strange sun-moon collision that was about to happen, but at the same time, he realized his body wouldn't budge.
'It's just a dream, right? I mean how could the sun and moon collide with each other, right?' But at the same time, the increased heat and cold were enough to convince him otherwise; he knew even if this was a dream, the pain was real! 'Fuck me I don't want to die, but what in the hell is going on! Please God, Please save me!'
The heat on his right side had increased to such an extent, that it had started to burn, while at the same time, his left side had turned into a crystalline ice.
From afar, he appeared like a statue that was made of fire and ice!
The sun and moon had moved a lot closer to him, and it was just a few seconds before the collision, when suddenly, a golden dome-like structure appeared around him.
Again, he wasn't sure what it was, but before he could think, the light due to the sun-moon collision was so bright, that it blinded his vision. Not only that, the pressure of this collision was such that even though this golden dome was protecting him, it still forced him to his knees.
He wasn't sure how long this phenomenon lasted, but the next thing he noticed was the blue space that surrounded him.
Even though he was already overwhelmed, witnessing the sun-moon collision, his consciousness was still functioning enough to notice this weird blue space that surrounded him.
But if this entire event wasn't enough to force him to question his sanity, then what happened next was enough for him to start doubting whether he had lost his marbles.
