Suddenly, someone knocked on my door, breaking my festival of anger and self-loathing. I wiped my tears to open the door. Anxo was there with a bottle of licor de guindas and his typical mischievous smile.
"What do you want?" I asked, knowing that the answer was going to piss me off, like almost everything that he said.
"You know me. I heard that the puppy broke up with you and I smell the opportunity." I closed the door just in his face but he put his foot in the middle. "I'm joking, I'm joking. My duty as second in command is checking the members of the pack." I pressed harder on the door trying to get rid of him. "Ow! C'mon, if you open the door, the liquor will be yours."
I accepted defeat and opened the door. "Give me this," I said, snatching the battle of his hands. I shouldn't have taken that bottle. Noa angry is bad, Noa angry and drunk is worse.
"Dann! Luckily, the puppy doesn't select a near day of full moon to tell you." I was to find a glass; however, none of them had survived my attack of anger. I drank directly from the bottle. "Careful is strong," he said.
"I know." I took another sip feeling the unpleasant flavor at the same time that the heat flooded my body. That liquor is strong and one of the few drinks that affects druids.
Anxo and I spend an hour only drinking and speaking about nonsense. He was paving the way for the big deal.
"Well. Do you wanna speak about the issue?" He asked.
"The issue," I said laughing. "Yes, the fact that my boyfriend sacrificed himself, disappeared for three years, and when we get him back to normal, he hates me." I smashed the empty bottle.
"Calm Noa," he said.
"I can't, okay. He is perfect. I need him and only need him." I wanted to cry, the feeling was overwhelming. If he would hate me forever, if he wouldn't touch me again, what would I do?
"Jesus not, chill out," he yelled and I looked at him. He seemed annoyed. "Okay, I get it. He has this sweet puppy face with a calm and smiling attitude that wakes up your spirit wolf protective attitude. Works with each strong wolf, yours, Tim, and even the Australian. But that doesn't mean that you need him and much less that he is perfect."
I couldn't help but laugh. "You don't get it at all."
"Maybe not. I know I'm not the best person for this conversation, but I think you are forgetting how your relationship was. I mean you and he were dating and breaking up for a year when you were eighteen years old. Besides, Brais is not exactly a monogamous guy."
"It's high time I went home," I said containing the urge to break all his bones
"You aren't in condition to go to the city."
"I will be okay. You close the door when leaving, or not. I don't care."
I went to the apartment through the carvers which connect with most of the city. I almost got lost a couple of times in the non-illuminated zones of the carvers, alcohol didn't help. But, finally, I used an exit that was connected to a garage just in the middle of downtown and went to the apartment.
Mina, my roommate, wasn't in the city and I preferred that way. If she were, she would ask about it and I had received enough pity for a day thanks to Anxo.
I took the elevator and the waiting was an eternity. I only needed to arrive, and I wasn't sure what next. I only knew it was the place that I needed at that moment.
I opened the door and entered, my heart was beating with impatience. But, there wasn't any true reason, the apartment was empty and dark. I could see without problems due to my powers.
I lay down on my bed, looking at the ceiling, waiting for sleep. Nothing, I couldn't sleep.
On my nightstand was a photo of both of us. He was able to convince me to go to a stupid video game fair and we took a picture of a place that recreated a level of Doom Eternal. Both smiling at the camera. That day was stupid but also the funniest day of my life. This describes very well our relationship, stupid but funny. The very aggressive and arrogant me and the calm and nice him.
------------------
We hadn't seen each other for a long time. Brais had been on a trip to make a summer course before starting freshman year. This had caused a lot of sexual message and photos with erotic intentions, none of his ass, to my misfortune.
Our first encounter had been good. Maybe I could say great, but above all, it had become a recurrent and irritating fantasy. The reason was hard to explain. It wasn't how good Brais was in bed or how much I liked talking to him, or how much I liked his round and firm ass. It's more like when you hear a great song but someone stops it in the middle of the hook and then your mind is repeating again and again until you can hear it completely. This was Brais at that moment, the song that I needed to hear completely to move on.
We had planned to meet in the Plaza de Armas, in front of the city hall, near the apartment that I share with another wolf of my new pack, Mina. He appeared in the square through the Calle Real. He was a little sweaty.
"I'm sorry to be late," he said. I looked at my phone, six o'clock, just the perfect time.
"You are not."
"Yeees, I'm the kind of person who likes to arrive five minutes early."
I smiled at him. "I'm the kind of person who is incapable of arriving on time."
"But, you are on time." He smirked at me, making me blush. I arrived almost half an hour early. "It's hot here. There is a new ice cream parlor in Los Cantones." He said it, not asked for it. Although I had another idea to spend the afternoon, I followed him without saying anything.
We ate ice cream while taking a walk through the pedestrian streets. Everything was so free-flowing between us. He told me about his childhood and how he discovered that he was a druid when he was 13 years old, well technically he said werewolf. I had to hit his arm to use stupid human terminology, and both laughed. I opened up about myself and told him about my years in Juan's pack.
He was empathetic and understanding of my past, at least more than most of my new pack. Only Nina and Beatriz didn't look at me as if I was just a monster ready to kill someone.
"Can you pass me a napkin?" he said suddenly. He had stained his cheek with his cheesecake ice cream. I used my thumb to wipe away a slowly falling ice cream drop and walked closer to him.
"Brais, I'm tired of strolling. I was thinking of riding for a while." I said with lips just some centimeter away from his cheek, ready to taste a little more of the ice cream from him.
"Okay, but I forgot the card to rent bikes."
Although my lips were touching his cheek, I stepped back because of his answer. "What?" I yelled. He had a big smirk, like a little brat. I hit his arm and he winced. "You are terrible." I looked away, I felt a little ashamed of the situation.
He grabbed my hand and our eyes crossed. "I would really love to ride for a while with you."
Although the whole scene was more ridiculous than sexy I couldn't help but kiss him. Then squeezed his wrist for him to follow me. I dragged him through the middle of the city, throwing the rest of the ice creams in the first trash can I found.
I took him into the house and closed the door. He was observing the living room with curiosity.
"Do you like doom?" He said taking a game from the table.
"It's of my roommate. I'm not into this kind of game. I'm more into this kind of game." I touched his crotch shamelessly. He was half-rock. "and I think you are too."
"I'm a person with a lot of hobbies." He brushed my dark-brow hair with his right hand and French kissed me.
