Rachel sat on the sofa, worried out her mind. Today would finally be the day she told him everything, and she couldn't believe she finally had the courage to do it. To say she was scared was an understatement. What if he didn't want to be with her anymore? What if he was so freaked out that he told everyone about her then never spoke to her again? She's had nightmares about this before, and she was shaking just thinking about it. She was a beautiful woman, with long brown hair and in her mid-twenties, she knew that she would easily be able to find another man. But she would spend her life wondering how Niko would actually feel, and she liked him so much she didn't want him to be scared of her. As she sat, waiting for him to arrive, she could feel her body melt slightly, the liquid pouring slightly onto the couch into a small puddle. She adjusted her body, embarrassed she had let herself go like that. She could feel the goo slosh around slightly, and she reasorbed herself immediately. She would have to make sure she didn't accidentally do that in front of Niko.
Speaking of Niko, he opened the door that second, the door knob turning right slightly as he put in his key. "Hey baby, I'm home. Did you wait long?" He hung his backpack on the wall, smiling at her with his sideways smile. She walked up to him in an instant, brushing her fingers through his hair, interlacing her fingers deep into it.
"No, I just got home, too. Just been excited to see you. It's been a tough day at work." She said, and shifted a bit, looking down to make sure she didn't ooze anywhere else.
"I still don't know anything about your work." He commented, raising his eyebrows at her. "You work for some kind of organization- but I've never heard about it before."
She put her hand over his mouth, "Shush. I don't want to talk about work right now. I have something more important to tell you."
"What is it?" He asked, putting his hand on his waist and stroking her gently.
She shivered, and said, "You should sit down for this."
He was getting worried now, not sure what she was about to show him. He sat down on the couch, attentive and staring at her as she stood in front of him, her back facing the TV.
"I'm going to have to show you." She put her hand on his, and he felt the spark. It was subtle so she wouldn't hurt him, but it was there, a tiny bit of electricity coming out of her fingers. Before he could comment on it, she raised her hand and shot it out onto the ceiling, bolts of fiery lightning hitting it and then disappearing in an instant as she stopped it. She stared at him, gauging his reaction. She was tense, worried he would run off screaming.
"Baby? Did I scare you?" She asked cautiously.
He didn't speak for a few seconds, but then looked at her in the eye, "Oh my god that was so cool! Do that again!" She laughed out loud, breathing a huge sigh of relief.
"I was so scared you'd be too scared of me."
"What? A girlfriend with superpowers is the dream. What else can you do?" He asked.
She thought about it for a few seconds, and then decided to show him. She raised her arm up, and the book on the table raised with her motions. "Holy. Crap." He said. "You telekinetic?"
"I'm not as good at it as I am with the electricity... but yeah I can move stuff with my mind. The hand was just to show you I was controlling it." She explained.
"Is that what you do for a living? Do you fight crime?" He was so intrigued.
She laughed shyly. "Well... yes. But I don't really fight the real crime, I'm still training right now, getting better at controlling my powers."
"Wow, I'll help you as much as I can, Babe."
"Do you want to see something crazy? I've never really showed anyone before." She asked cautiously.
"Woah, there's more? What did you want to show me?" He asked. She took a few steps back- and then it started to happen. At first, her face started to deform- she didn't look like Rachel anymore. Niko was about to say something when it escalated. Her fingers started to melt as well, little drops of silver reflective liquid started to fall onto the floor. It looked like her finger was melting, and he couldn't believe it. It seemed like an instant before her arm was completely gone. She oozed onto the ground, her arms disappearing drop by drop. It formed a blob on the ground, a squishy glob of liquid that oozed onto the carpet flooring.
"Woah." Niko commented. "Can you do that with your whole body?"
She nodded. "But I'll have to take off my clothes, I don't want my body to get stuck in the clothes."
"You know I love it when you take off your clothes." He said, winking at her.
She laughed, and bent down to collect all the fluid that was a part of her and absorbing it back into her, her arms fully forming again. "Woah." He said again. She stripped down quickly, not making a huge show of it. Her dress fell onto the floor and her panties followed. She kicked them aside and closed her eyes, starting the process again.
"It's been a while since I let myself fully form into a puddle like this." She explained. Her arm started to go again, and then her head. Her body disappeared slowly, the fluid dripping down her sides and moving down her body, collecting with the mesmerizing mirror-like substance as it trailed down. Niko was awe-struck, he had never seen something so amazing in his life. The liquid squelched as the final pieces of her formed a puddle, and Niko looked down at it, not saying a word.
When nothing happened, he said softly, "Babe? You still there?"
