Jack was fitted into some loose-fitting robes that better fit his role as a healer above all else. Some simple greek-like attire with very little filigree or flare. He knew that some of the better healers had nicer, cuter clothes. Short skirts, heels, crop tops. Thins he would want his healslut to wear. He could not exactly go out completely naked and definitely did not want to so he was stuck, since they did not want to give him his armor back. Though, it was still somewhat embarrassing to go from a strong, powerful armored paladin to a priest. He would never live it down if his friends found out, so the number one priority was either getting out of the deal as soon as possible or advancing fast enough to become a real paladin again.
"Uh, Clovis?" Jack asked.
The large man turned his head. "Yeah?" The two were leaving the city since Clovis apparently had some business to attend to and as his 'healslut' Jack had to tag along.
"How do I get outta this thing?" He pointed down towards the cage, then in general towards the robe and bangle.
Clovis lifted his thick brow as he stared down at Jack and shrugged. "What'd the chick tell you?"
"She told me I could work my way up to becoming a Paladin again."
It was hard to tell if Clovis was smirking, because he had the head of a bull. He exhaled swiftly through his nose.
"Yeah? Okay. I guess that's how it works, then." He uttered indifferently. Jack stared up at the man for a bit too long after Clovis said that.
"What?"
Jack gulped. "Nothing." Clovis was, to Jack, exactly what he wanted to be. Both in the game and out. Ever since he was little he thought of large men with larger cocks who could gather women with their physique and charisma. He had always idolized big, strong men and strove to be one. For that reason he went to the gym constantly and tried to angle himself into a successful field to be like the people he 'admired'.
"Doesn't seem like nothing. You should tell me if you got any hangups. I'm the one that loses shit if you don't heal." Clovis huffed.
"Oh, okay. Can I level with you?" Jack asked. Clovis nodded his large head fairly easily in response to the reasonable request. Jack then told Clovis about the situation he was in, how he was mislead and his hangups about being a strong man, since that obviously goes against what was happening here.
"Ah, okay. I hear you. Listen, I understand not wanting your friends to know and we can make that work." Clovis said reasonably. Jack relaxed. Clovis seemed like a very cool guy. He decided that things may work out better than he thought. Then the minotaur turned and stopped in front of him once they were outside city limits. Jack was incredibly small when compared to the monument to manliness that was the minotaur Clovis.
"Look, 'Jack', I don't mean to be mean but you're perfect for this role, whether you want to admit it or not."
"H-huh?"
"I know you do law, jack." Clovis leaned down as he spoke, bringing his face close to Jack's. His large bull-like head breathed humid air over him without even intending to. His breaths were just that heavy naturally.
"Wait, they shared my info?"
"You know they share your info. It's in the contract you signed, Missy." Clovis stated.
"Are you stupid?"
"No! I'm not!" Jack argued.
"Okay... Then you know everything that you agreed to beforehand, right?" Clovis stared at him insistently.
"Did you maybe block some things out or forget some things? Or did you read it all?"
Jack lowered his head. "I... Maybe skimmed."
"Why did you get fired from your internship?" Jack blushed deeply as Clovis asked that.
He stuttered. "I-I-I wrote that I quit."
"And I'm asking why you were fired."
Jack gulped. "I lacked discipline. I didn't complete my duties. The work was hard in general."
Clovis sighed deeply. "This isn't just a normal Order." That time Jack could tell Clovis was smiling.
"Right?" He joked.
Jack chuckled weakly and rubbed his arm, still recoiling from the confrontation. "Yeah..."
"Listen." Clovis said in a low, soothing growl directly into Jack's ear. "I can guide you. I can help you get your life back on track both in game and out. I was selected very specifically to be your partner because of the information you gave us. I know I can give you a better, more fulfilling life than what you have." Jack's jaw dropped. Clovis was speaking so intensely and purposefully that it did not feel like simple roleplay. He nervously bit his lip and chose to let the man continue. Clovis smiled and rested a large hand on Jack's head.
"Good. Now LISTEN." Jack jumped when Clovis said the word listen with such forcefulness. It demanded his attention. His heart beat quickly. His back straightened as though he was brought to attention under the command of one far superior to himself.
"In life and in the game not everyone can be a player. Some have to be NPC's. What are you?"
Jack picked up on something. "Did you say... In life?"
"Relax. Don't get too far ahead of yourself. Just say it."
Jack furrowed his brow. "N-no! I'm not an NPC!" He argued. Clovis blinked.
"Maybe you got a bit more fire than I thought... We can circle back." Clovis shrugged.
The life of a Healslut was not easy. Jack actually had to expend a lot of energy and attention to heal Clovis. A lot of it was positioning and movement. He had to stand still and focus to cast, so being in the wrong place could mean getting interrupted. Clovis did a good job protecting him, but it was up to Jack to place himself in the best position to heal. Jack was uncertain about the whole situation at first, but ultimately partying with Clovis was extremely lucrative in terms of both XP and items. He had essentially been power-leveled from his reduced level to level 5, while his bracketed level remained at 14. He realized that with such a good pace he may be able to pass it, even.
"So, what's my cut of the loot after all that?" Jack asked as they were settling down for the day.
Clovis chuckled. "Tell me what you want and if it's reasonable I'll buy it for you in town. I don't usually do that, but you've been a very good little healslut, Missy."
Jack frowned. "W-wait... You're keeping my cut and deciding what I can and can't spend it on?"
"No." Clovis said bluntly. As Jack stared at him he continued with a wide, bovine smile.
