: I wasn't expecting such a positive reception of the first fantasy themed story, but it was a nice surprise. As you probably can tell, this is a lot of fun for me, and the biggest thrill is when I get comments from you, the readers. I had to explain myself to a worried, angry, and suspicious wife. Not that I could blame her. I had gone hiking and hadn't returned until the morning. Raina was beside herself with worry; sure that I had fallen and broken my leg or worse. And then she suspected I went off with some other woman, which wasn't all that far from the truth.
What she didn't expect was a description of events that included visiting an ancient faerie ring or meeting an actual faerie. At first, I left off the part about said faerie giving me a hand-job... no, that's inaccurate. She gave me a torso-job, jerking me off with her whole body. I just told her that I went up the trail where Raul said and actually found the big faerie stone he described.
Of course, she thought I was nuts, and wanted to rail into me some more about making her worry, and who was the other woman, and why did I have to make up bullshit? So I did what anyone in my situation would do. I told her to come with me, and I'd prove it. Yashen said she could charm my wife and that she liked 'woman juice', and I was more than a little curious about the effect that faerie magic would have on Raina. Not to mention how hot it made me thinking about that sexy little faerie going at it with my wife.
It took a lot of metaphorical arm twisting, but she finally agreed, and we decided to take a day off to go hiking together the next day. To prep for it, we went out and got her some new trail boots. I also bought a compass, a disposable camera (those were a thing back then), a new flashlight, and a half dozen mason jars I figured would hold plenty of Shen's favorite honeyed wine.
We both called in sick that Monday morning, and got started up the hill to the trail just before nine. Still skeptical and mad about the missing day, Raina was actually enjoying the adventure in no time. We walked for over an hour just following the trail, and in that time we saw deer, a fox, and a hawk. She just loves the wildlife, especially the sort you don't get to see often.
"This is it!" I said, waving a hand at the huge boulder that jutted out of the side of the hill.
"That's a rock?" she laughed.
"I know, right?" I laughed with her. "I wonder if he thinks of the ocean as a big lake."
"Wow! Look at all the graffiti!" She ran her fingers over a few of the initials and hearts. "We should have brought something to chisel with."
"Yeah, I'm not sure the faerie would be okay with that, actually."
She huffed at me with one of her 'don't be stupid' looks, then stepped back and started to notice all the older carved symbols. Spirals, waves, something that looked like runes in groups or lines, and finally the pentacle.
"Is that...?"
"Just like I told you." I nodded. "That definitely wasn't carved into the stone in the last century, and I'm guessing it's a hell of a lot older than that."
"Yeah, maybe," she reluctantly agreed. "So, where's your faerie?"
"Let's find out." I shrugged off my pack, and got the jar of honeyed wine I brought, as well as the camera this time.
"Yashen! It's Willy!" I called. "I brought you more wine! Shen! It's me! My wife, Raina, is here too, just like you asked!"
"The faerie asked for me?" Raina said.
"She wants to meet you."
We waited, but nothing happened, and I was getting that worried look from Raina again. She was pretty sure I was either lying to cover up a one-night-stand, or that I'd completely lost my mind.
"Let's just have a seat and wait a while," I suggested.
"I can't believe you talked me into this," she huffed, and leaned her back against the giant stone.
I pulled out the big towel I added last minute, spread it out on the forest floor by the stone, and sat on half of it. Raina skeptically twisted her smile at me and sat on the other half.
"You spent the night here?"
I shrugged. "I guess so. It felt like minutes, not hours, but then it was morning and..."
"Ugh! Just stop talking." She nodded at the jar. "What's that?"
"Wine mixed with honey. I read that faeries like honey, and wine, and especially honey wine. Mead. I figured this was the next best thing."
"And is it?"
"She liked it."
Another of her skeptical smirks, then she reached for the jar.
"Woah! Don't do that."
"What? Why not?"
"It's a gift!" I explained. "You don't bring a gift to someone else, and then eat it or drink it yourself, do you?"
I got the pack on my lap, took out the trail mix I brought for us, and the chocolate chip cookie I brought for Shen. Raina gave me a half angry and half amused look, but had a little of the trail mix without further complaint.
I was just starting to doubt my own sanity, thinking maybe I had just dreamed the whole thing, when I heard the buzz of large insect wings.
"Shh!" I listened harder, trying to get a direction.
"It's a bumble bee or something," Raina said.
"No. Too big. It's her." I got up, and looked around for the dazzling kaleidoscope colors of Shen's wings, but nothing.
"Shen! It's okay. It's just me, Willy. And this is my wife, Raina. Come on out and meet her."
Raina was looking at me like I really had flipped my lid entirely, and she wasn't skeptical anymore. She was scared.
"What?"
She gulped and got up slowly. "What the hell did you just say?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You said something, and it... was like... German, or Sweedish or something."
