Tyler walked into the security office with his adrenaline pumping. "Come sit." his boss tells him.
He takes a seat in an uncomfortable foldable chair across from his boss's desk. His boss is a big guy who clearly doesn't do a lot of walking. Figures that he would get a desk job where he sits in a chair all day. He begins to speak, "you said you were in the bathroom, right?"
Tyler adjusted his top a little, "yes, that's what I said."
"Which bathroom?"
"Excuse me?"
"You see, while you were hauling ass over here I happened to see you on this camera. You were on the opposite side of the atrium. If I pull up the camera footage will I see you exiting the bathroom, crossing the atrium floor in the wrong direction, and then turning around to run over here?"
Tyler looked to the floor. His boss continued to insist he answer, "you better give me a good explanation."
Tyler started to get cold sweats. He tried to lie, "ah well... I was having a conversation with one of the therianthropes when I had to go so we moved the conversation to her room. I borrowed her bathroom and forgot to turn my radio back on afterwards."
The boss's eyes brooded "Her room, eh? You sure borrowing her bathroom was all you did?"
Tyler's anxiety rose and rose, "Yes! I swear!"
The boss clicked around some files on his desktop and found the footage of Tyler entering and exiting Grace's room, but he could not see or hear what happened inside. He saw the way Grace behaved and was suspicious, but he couldn't prove anything. The boss spoke, "I don't like you, rookie. I have a feeling you're lying to my face, but there's nothing I can do about it as is. But tomorrow! Tomorrow you will walk over here and report to me every hour on the hour, got it?"
Tyler nodded his head, "yes, sir"
"Good, now get back to work."
"Yes, sir"
Tyler excused himself from the office and hurried back to the therianthrope atrium. He patrolled for a couple hours on the route he had made for himself. He made note of the cameras as he walked. It's funny how you can almost ignore them until you start being worried about them. They were everywhere and watching his every move. He wanted to fold in on himself for not even thinking about them before. On one of his rounds Grace was waiting for him in the living room area. "I was wondering where you were," she said.
Tyler sighed and said, "they checked the cameras, we shouldn't do that again."
Grace smirked, "so they know everything and let you keep your job? Impressive."
"Not quite. I told them I was borrowing your bathroom."
Grace laughed out loud. Squinting her eyes and trying to hold back laughter she says, "Oh dear, they definitely know."
"Yeah..."
"So now what? What are your chances of borrowing my bathroom, again?"
"Unlikely. Starting tomorrow I'll have to report to my boss in person every hour on the hour."
"That's unfortunate... I know someone who wants to meet you" Grace winked.
Tyler felt a rush from the proposition. "I'm sorry, Grace."
"Oh don't worry, I'm sure there's ways for us to get around it."
"I don't really think we should."
"I know you want to"
"You're right, I do."
"What about after your shift?"
Tyler thought about it for a minute, "maybe tomorrow. If the guy that relieves me sees me leave in the same uniform twice things might get suspicious. I'll bring a change of clothes."
