Chapter 34

SLUT FOR DEATH

Day 19

I was seized awake by Susan grabbing me and lifting me out of bed. My heart pounded as the large woman swung me around, feet dangling, to face Elenora.

She examined me closer, turning my red, tear-streaked face to the side, and the other. She dropped my chin and I let my head hang, my face obscured by my long hair. She lifted a few red locks and tugged. "She's worthless. Suited to scrub the dishes and floors. Nothing more." Her voice reeked of disappointment. "I'll never understand what Keiran sees in you. Chef, however, what was he teaching you?" She waited for me to answer but I didn't. She laughed. "We will see about that." Her flowy silk robes swirled as she turned and left the room. She shut and locked the door behind her.

Susan dropped me and I collapsed to the floor and curled into as small a ball as I could. She walked to a door in the wall and unlocked it with a key from her large key-ring. She pushed open the door and looked at me. Her face was neutral. "You will attend to your bodily needs and bathe. Elenora's orders."

I looked into the small bathroom.

"Do you need assistance?" She walked over to me.

"No." I got to my feet quickly. "No. I can manage."

She nodded and moved away from me to stand by the bathroom door.

I entered it and turned on the light. I reached for the door handle to shut it behind me but Susan filled the doorway and prevented the door from closing.

I stripped off my dress over my head and stood in my underwear. I bent to take off my leggings and the small glass vial slipped from my bra and tumbled onto the floor unbroken.

Susan was quick to grab it and placed it in her pocket.

Fuck. I tried to hide the disappointment and frustration from my face as I stripped off the rest of my clothing and sat on the toilet. The aches and pains from the past few days set in, the bruises bloomed over my skin.

Susan stared at the wall as I used the toilet and entered the shower. She stood, unmoving while I finished bathing quickly. I exited the shower and dried myself off. She backed away from the door and I followed her into the bedroom. She gestured to a garment on the bed. It was a simple black cotton shift dress with buttons all the way down the front.

I pulled it over my head, it reached a few inches above my ankles and was too tight.

She turned on her heel and walked out of the room but left the door open behind her.

I followed her, barefoot, down the staircases and into the dining room.

Elenora sat at the head of her dining table and folded a newspaper as we entered the room.

Susan stood behind me, close enough to grab me if I decided to run.

Elenora approached me and looked me up and down, a sneer across her face. "Some hard work will get that weight off you."

"She's fine the way she is Mother." Keiran stepped out of some shadowy corner and stood next to Elenora. A boyish gleeful smile across his face. "Men like all that-" He waved his hand at my body. "-extra stuff. Just wait until the offers for her start coming in."

Men and offers? Fuck, they're going to sell me. I glared at him, killing him over and over again in my mind. If I had time I would tie him to a tree and flail him alive, cover him in honey and let the forest animals finish him off.

Susan stepped to the side and reached into her pocket. "She had this."

Elenora snatched it from her and held it up in her fingers, angling it to the light, it shimmered and swirled like a mini galaxy.

Before I could even think about what I was doing I grabbed it from her fingers and uncorked it. Swallowing the liquid like a shot. It was the most delicious thing I had ever tasted. Like pure pleasure slinking down my throat and coating my stomach. It slid through my organs and into my bloodstream.

Elenora grabbed the empty glass bottle and slapped me across the face with it. The pieces broke and embedded their tiny little slivers into my cheek.

I fell to the floor from the impact but instead of pain, I felt nothing but pleasure, almost enough to bring me to orgasm.

Keiran started to reach for me before he stopped himself and leaned back against the table casually, adjusting the marble necklace around his stupid neck.

Elenora glared at me. "Take her to the basement."

Susan grabbed me quickly, arms in a bear hug that left little room to breathe and carried me to the basement.

Heat swirled around in my head making me dizzy, the Magical liquid heating up inside me.

She carried me further into the house than I had ever been and into a large kitchen. Two other doors on the far side of the room stood across from each other. One looked like a back door and the other Susan opened. There was a staircase leading down into the dark basement. She carried me down the stairs.

My vision was fuzzy as the heat made sweat drip down my back.

She tossed me to the floor, locked a metal ring around my neck and chained me to a ring coming out of the cement floor. She moved out of the way, standing next to the wall beside me.

Bishop was tied to a rebar cross, his head hung like he was unconscious. His shirtless chest lifted and fell with his labored breath.

My skin burned as Elenora came down in her flowy robes. She picked up a knife and walked over to me.

Bishop lifted his head with her back to him and noticed me. He struggled against his bindings, doing nothing but gaining Elenora's attention.

She stopped between us and looked back and forth. "First my son and now my brother?" She laughed. "You are a little slut." She flung the knife in Bishop's direction.

It landed with a sickening thud between his ribs. He made no noise but I saw the pain across his face.

"You disobey me and he will be the one punished." She walked to him and pulled out the knife. Slicing him again on the other side of his bare torso.

Bishop made no sound as the blood dripped from the cut.

Tears that should have burned my eyes felt like the softest of flower petals sliding across my skin. Weird but pleasant. My body felt pleasure, even with the rising heat but my heart broke as Bishop suffered because of me and my mind swam with a plan to get the fuck out of here. Or kill Elenora. Susan was the problem. How do you kill something that may not even be human? Susan could be an advanced kind of robot and I wouldn't have been surprised.

I nodded to Elenora. "I'll do whatever you say." Until I can get out of this.

She looked at me closely. "What's wrong with you? You're all red and sweaty." She laughed. "Take her to the kitchen. Have her scrub the floors. Hard work will do her some good." Elenora turned in a swish of fabric and left the basement.

Susan unlocked my chain from the wall, leaving the metal ring around my neck, and pushed me to the staircase. "Walk or I'll carry you."

I made eye contact with Bishop. I'm going to get us out of here. Even if it means I have to summon a Demon.

***

It had been hours on my knees on Elenora's hardwood kitchen floor. My movements slow with the overwhelming heat coursing through my body. The Magical liquid I swallowed was having some adverse effects. I was feverish and dizzy.

But Susan had me scrubbing each inch of the tiled kitchen floor with a toothbrush and I was getting closer to the back door. My thoughts wavered between escaping and running, trying to find help without Bishop or running for the door to the basement, and freeing him first. Most likely collapsing, in either scenario, before accomplishing anything.

I should run out the backdoor, try to get someone to help on the road? She could kill him by the time I reached the end of her mile-long driveway. Free Bishop and both of us can fight Susan. Bishop didn't have his gun or any weapons on him. Susan was too strong for that.

Dammit.

Can I grab a knife from one of the drawers and reach the basement door?

Susan stepped into view.

I looked up at her and she stared down at me, as if she knew my thoughts, my plan for escaping. I continued my scrubbing, slowly as the heat burned my insides. My hand slipped from under me and I collapsed to the floor.

The grass was cold and wet under me. In the distance was a large gravestone. A man in a top-hat and a coat with a long tail, smoking a cigar, crouched on top of the massive stone.

I sat up in the grass.

He hopped off the gravestone gracefully and walked to me. He reached down to help me to my feet.

"You weren't supposed to ingest it." He smiled.

"Instructions unclear." I crossed my arms under my chest.

He stared at my pushed up breasts while he took a drag from his cigar.

I unfolded my arms but he watched as they jiggled into place. "Maybe you can clarify now. What was in that vial and why did I need it?"

He circled around me, licking his lips. He stopped when we were face to face and I looked closely at him. His dark face split in half with that of skull bones. He chuckled and it vibrated in my lower regions. Pleasantly.

"You were supposed to hold it close to your heart." He reached out with his finger and touched my chest where my heart was. He trailed it down across my breast but not lower than my dress button. "And it does exactly what you think it does. Transmutes pain into pleasure." He trailed his finger up my throat and to the tip of my chin, tilting it up to make eye contact with him. "Too much pain and it just numbs. You felt the numbing effect when you were shot." His eyes were a dark green, almost black. "You have memory problems, don't you?" His voice was low. "I can't see your past."

I tried to look away but he made a tsk sound and I looked back at him. "What's going to happen to me now?" Even in this dream I could feel the heat across my skin.

"Your human body will burn off most of it. Shame. You'll need it if she sells you to the highest bidder."

I looked away from him this time and stepped back.

"Or you could marry me and stay here, forever." He gestured to the gravestones around him.

I shook my head and stepped back even further.

He was behind me suddenly and I ran into him. He chuckled in my ear, sending chills down my spine. He spun me in his arms to face him.

"Why can't I die?"

"Does anyone truly die?"

"What?" I didn't understand.

He laughed. "You will die when I am ready for you to die." His face turned into a skull.

I gasped and tried to run from him.

He held my arms tight, not letting me move. "Remember this. I will be collecting my payment...wife." The Grave-Digger's skeletal mouth pressed against mine. His bone lips cut into mine.
