The moment her teleportation gate manifested, and Claudia's feet landed in this podunk town, she had one goal in mind.
To make money.
Powerful mage as she was, she was broke as hell. Claudia was too far away for her teleportation spell to reach anything closer than this town. And after the mess she had just left from, she was desperate. She needed currency, food, and because of a stupid incident involving a touchy acid slime, a new set of clothes.
Claudia already had plans forming in her head to get all of this done in quick succession. Step one: Eat; she had enough money to pay for one meal and then she can go on with the next step of her plan. Which was: Sell as many goods as she could in the market or guild. She had recently killed a chimera she encountered on her way to this town, it's parts would definitely sell for some large sum. She's collected other monster parts as well that she's sure would also sell for a good price. Third, but as equally important as the rest: get new clothes and find a place to stay.
Towns people watched her stroll down their crowded streets in awe. Her arrival had apparently caught everyone's interest; humans and human adjacent alike. Mages were not common in the countryside. Mages who were adept at teleportation magic was an even bigger novelty. Eyes followed her all the way through town, a mix of awe from the younger crowd, wariness from most of the adults, curiosity from the elvenfolk and half-foots, and to her non-surprise: men of all races ogling her slowly deteriorating clothes. Clothes that just so happen to be wearing away at the right places with her breasts and ass was practically showing through her damaged clothing. Claudia spares a moment to curse the damn acid slime; its remains will explicitly fund her shopping spree.
Ignoring the more...lascivious gazes from the crowd, Claudia continued her stroll towards the town's inn.

"What do you mean no one's going to take what I'm selling?" Claudia asked, panic lacing her tone of voice. All her plans dashed with one damning statement, "these are top quality monster parts! Surely there's a guild or an alchemist who would buy these off me?"
The innkeeper shook his head in sympathy, "That's the thing, ma'am," he said, "This town's too small and too far in the backwoods for a guild let alone an alchemist workshop. You'll have better luck going east of here to Oonan City."
Claudia sighed, "Is there any way I can at least make some money in this town? I'll take on some odd jobs if I must. I just really need a place to stay and some new clothes at least."
The innkeeper eyed the state of her clothing, his bemused expression turning more sympathetic.
"Well," He sighed and reached for a key from a set that was hanging behind him, "I can give you a room upstairs in advance, just as long as you pay me what I'm due once you get your money problem situated. Clothes? I got a girl working here that might lend you some of hers."
Claudia's dour mood shifted to appreciative at the innkeeper's generosity, "Thank you so much, sir! And don't worry, I'll pay you back for the room!"
The innkeeper brushes it off with a humble shake of his head, "No need for that, ma'am," he said, "can't just leave someone who needs help. Now, if you're looking to find some money around here, you should ask the farm or some of the merchants around here. They'd be more than happy to pay for any help, especially from a mage like yourself."
"I can't thank you enough sir!"

And this was how Claudia spent her first few days in this town. Running odd jobs for the merchants in the marketplace and the farm hands on the outskirts of town. She didn't mind the labor; in fact, she was barely breaking a sweat because she mostly relied on her magic. Claudia took pride in knowing she was extremely talented with magic, one of the most powerful ones in their country, even. She'd had several guilds try to recruit her, but she always refused. She disliked the idea of being bound to contracts after contracts when all she wanted was to travel and experience what else the world of magic has to offer. So, inconveniences like her current situation aside, she enjoyed the freedom her travels brought her.
With a content sigh after completing her final errand for the day, Claudia makes her way back to the inn. She greets the innkeeper with her usual cheer and pays him silver a few coppers for another night's stay (plus extra for her first night) and heads back to her room. A shower was well and truly needed after her busy day.
"Oh hey, Claudia!"
Claudia looked up to see Terri making her way down the stairs, just as she was making her way up. With a grin she greets the kind elven woman, "Hey Terri," she started, "you finished your shift already?"
"Yes!" Terri said with a grin, "it wasn't too busy, so the boss let me leave early, so I have the rest of the night off."
"That's good!" Claudia said and then added, "I still can't thank you enough for lending me some of your clothes, by the way. I'll pay you back once I have more gold on me."
"Oh no need for that," Terri said with a shake of her head, her golden ear loops and chains clinked at the movement "I don't mind it one bit, especially since you look
adorable
in that outfit."
Claudia blushes at her compliment, "Thanks," she stuttered, "Well, wouldn't want to keep you stalling when you have the rest of the night ahead of you."
"Aw, there's no need for me to rush tonight," Terri said, waiting for Claudia to move further up the stairs and closer to her before adding in a whispered tone, "in fact, if you're interested you should come along, the pay's better where I'm going than what the guys here are giving you."
This got Claudia's attention. She'd come to the begrudging acceptance that she would spend over two weeks running errands for the townspeople. Even adding the occasional hunting job that pays a little more, it'll be a while before she gathered what she needed to continue her travels. It was quite a setback if she were honest with herself. But she'd accepted her situation; this place was as backwoods as it could be; they don't have much, so they won't have a lot to offer.
"What kind of job is it?"
Terri grinned along with an easy shrug, "Something fun."

Claudia was thankful she knew contraceptive spells.
"Ah~!" she watches as a stocky older man thrust erratically in and out of Terri, "Ohhh...yes! Fuck me harder sir~ you feel so amazing deep in my pussy!"
Claudia swallows nervously.
They were in a cabin, just a few miles out of the village. It was situated just outside of a major pathway that would be easily missed during the daylight. The evenings, however, with the lights coming from the fireplace and the torches outside. The cabin was a beacon for any traveler wandering too late into the night. It was a safe place for travelers to keep warm and stay safe until sunrise. Outside of that is a little shack, big enough to fit a couple of cots, and a handful of people.
And apparently this was where Terri runs her little side job.
