Chapter 3: Core Stats And Lust Rolls

When you're a Player involved in a Scene you will have to say each turn unless you decide to roll your Lust dice what Core Stat you are using and what Core Stat you are rolling against. This can be a bit unclear at first in how it works so a good break down on how the Stats work can be helpful.

Charm

This Stat stands for how charismatic your character is. How skilled they are at talking, convincing others or making their point. As it gets lowered in the game you are becoming flustered and having a harder and harder time of making a good argument. We all know if you are having a hard time talking to someone it can become more tricky to communicate yourself properly. If you beat a Scene with your Charm it means you have won them over in a battle of words.

If you are rolling with your Charm you could be telling a joke, singing a song, trying to convince someone to go along with your idea. If you are rolling against someone's Charm you can be trying to make them look like a fool, trying to undermine them, or trying to have them believe a lie.

Speed

This Stat stands for how agile and quick moving your character is. It can be how fast they move around, how well they hide and sneak about, how skilled they are at dancing or aiming a far rang weapon of some kind. As it gets lowered in the game your character is becoming more and more warn down and exhausted. One can become warn down by the end of the day after being impacted enough. If you beat a Scene with Speed it means you snuck away or perhaps caught someone in a chase.

If you are rolling with your Speed you are using your agility and acrobatics in some way. If you are rolling against someone's Speed you can be trying to ware someone out or trying to outrun them.

Wits

This Stat stands for how smart and aware your character is. It translates to you being both intelligent or maybe street smart and also how much you are aware of your surroundings. As it gets lowered as you play your mind gets warn down. If you have had a knowledge intensive day it can honestly leave you feeling like you're having a headache. If you beat a Scene with your Wits it likely means that you outsmarted the Scene in some way.

If you are rolling with your Wits you could be trying to tell a complex riddle, trying to outsmart someone or being aware of where someone is. If you are rolling against someone's Wits you could be trying to make them question themselves or out wit them.

Might

This Stat stands for how strong and tough your character is. It can also stand for how well they withstand a blow. As it gets lowered it means your character has been physically hurt more and more until the point where they can't take anymore. If you beat a Scene with your Might it would mean you used your pure strength to fight away the threat or over power someone before you.

If you are rolling with your Might you could be swinging a sword, trying to lift a heavy object or withstand a powerful blow. If you are rolling against someone's Might it tends to mean you are trying to physically hurt them or weaken them in some way.

Control

This Stat stands for how in control you are of yourself. It can be symbolic of you keeping yourself in check if someone is trying to flirt with you or keeping your anger under wraps if someone is trying to make you upset. In other words the higher your control is the less likely you are to give into your deepest wants. If you are playing a fantasy based game or something with spellcasting Control can also mean calming yourself and your mind so you can cast spells properly. As it gets lowered you give into your sexual wants or anger more and more easily. If you beat a Scene with your Control it means you casted a complex spell or perhaps you held your cool when the being you were facing couldn't.

If you are rolling with your Control you could be trying ignore someone's flirtatious nature, hold yourself in check, or focus your mind. If you are rolling against someone's Control you could be trying to turn them on or make them angry.

Clarifying Lust Rolls

Given the rules of this system you may think a Scene you are in can only result in an erotic Scene if you win it with a Lust roll or perhaps the Scene wins by maxing out your Lust. That's not the case. A Lust roll only means you are going all in on trying to seduce someone onto your side. When a Scene is over the player and the Game Master roll play the rest of the Scene out in whatever way is fitting. If the player won it just needs to be noted that they got what they wanted to some degree and if the Scene won it just means they failed to some degree. What they wanted could very well be sleeping with the being behind the Scene. They could have used their Charm to talk the Scene into it or their Speed to quickly undress them.

The Scene at hand could even be a sex scene from the start. A Might roll could be used to lift your partner on top of you where as a Wits roll could be you knowing how to properly pleasure someone.

Further more, if you pass a Lust roll or the Scene wins by maxing out your Lust it does not mean a sex scene will result or one has to be done. Once again, a Lust roll only means you are trying to seduce someone to your side. This could be that you impress them so much that they want to do you a favour or maybe you convinced them into respecting your want for them to leave you be. That's right, you can flavor using Lust as a way to prevent a Sex scene if you want. Also when Sex is used in this game it tends to mean more of a general and broad term. If your idea of an intimate moment with someone is just hanging out with them and maybe cuddling, that is all your Scenes involving Lust ever have to be.

The rules of this system are meant to be broad and open minded and to allow the Player and Game Master to do whatever they want as well as feel comfortable with. If this game is ever making you feel boxed in and like your character has to do specific things then you should stop playing it. No one has a right to make you feel uncomfortable.

Example Of Play

If you are still having a hard time understanding how this game works in an actual play sense here is an example of how a Scene from a game may play out.

Game Master: You stand before the Queen in her royal courtroom. This courtroom is a Setting by the way and one of its features is Call The Guards where if you win a roll with your Might Core Stat and roll a natural 12 on your Fate dice a guard will try to stop your actions by shooting an arrow at you! I can also spend a Trick to case this to happen. So be warned the Queen does not want to be messed with.

Player: What does the Queen look like?

Game Master: Oh right. She is quite young for such a person in power, her early twenties in fact. People may question her actions due to her age. She dresses in a surprisingly revealing dress that clings to her body in the few areas it doesn't show her skin. Her hair drifts around her face and looks like it has never been tamed and is as red as the brightest rose. Her crown is simple, almost in contrast to this throne room.

Player: Alright, I want to be given permission by the Queen to hunt the manticore that stalks the land right?

Game Master: Yes! The manticore is quite dangerous and has killed many, but if people leave it be then it leaves them be. As such despite its evil the Queen is not allowing anyone to hunt it and will arrest anyone that seems to have that in mind.

Player: Okay, but me being such a skilled and legendary knight I know I can beat the thing. So I'm going to try and win over the Queen. Maybe if I flirt with her a bit I can win over her heart and she'll let me do what I want.

Game Master: This has just become a Scene then. Let me know what Core Stat you are using and what you are rolling against as she looks down at you and waits for you to speak. By the way, how Sexy is this Scene right now?

Player: Well she looks kind of nice, but I don't think anything really sexual will happen because of the guards so I would go with a D6.

Game Master: Okay, make your move!

Player: I guess I'll start by pleading my case, that would be my Charm, and I guess I'm rolling against her Charm because I'm trying to talk her into this. Oh, but Charm is my dump stat, it's only a D6.

Game Master: Still roll it, you never know.

Player: I'll spend a Tease and use my Commanding Voice. That will give me a D8 to use for my Skill. That will help out. Okay I'm rolling. D6 for my Stat, D8 for my Commanding Voice and D12 for my Fate dice.

*Rolls Dice*

Player: Oh no! I rolled all ones!

Game Master: Oh that is harsh! I get a Trick from that due to the 1 on the Fate dice. She is not pleased at all with your argument to hunt the manticore. In fact she's ordering her guards to get you out of here! They come rushing over, blades drawn. She's using her Charm to make this roll as she is ordering them, but she's rolling against your Might as the guards are trying to overpower you.

Player: Gulp!

Game Master: Rolling! *Rolls Dice* The highest thing I rolled was a 7?

Player: My Might is a D12.

Game Master: You're safe then, they miss you with their swings. It's your turn again. How Sexy is this Scene currently?

Player: Not Sexy at all currently. I'm pretty sure I may get tossed in a prison! So a D4 for sure. Anyways, I'm not going to just let myself be beat up. I'm going to use my Might to push these guards off of me. I guess I'm rolling against their Might. Rolling!

*Rolls Dice*

Player: An eleven with my Fate dice. That's the highest thing I rolled.

Game Master: Well that will get you a Tease and that will indeed push them off. Rolling the Queen Scene Core Stat for Might. Didn't roll a 1, but it drops.

Player: Alright!

Game Master: She is pretty impressed with your show of strength so she asks you if you are as skilled in bed as you are with fighting.

Player: She's pretty forward.

Game Master: She knows what she wants. She's using her Charm Core Stat and is rolling against your Control.

*Rolls Dice*

Game Master: She rolled a 9 with her Charm.

Player: She beat my D8 in Control. So I guess I'm rolling it to see if I roll a 1 then?

Game Master: Not at all. She was trying to turn you on so do a Lust roll.

Player: Oh! Okay, rolling the Lust dice. Oh, I got a 12, that brings my Lust right now up to a D12!

Game Master: Okay, it's your turn again. How Sexy is the Scene now and what do you do.

Player: Well this Scene just got very Sexy because I'm going to ask her to fuck me right here and now! So it's a D12 on the Sexy and I'm spending 2 Teases to make a Lust roll.

Game Master: You're pretty forward.

Player: I know what I want!

*Rolls Dice*

Player: Oh ya! I got four 6s!

Game Master: Oh wow! Even with her special feature of Unending Dignity that says you have to roll at least 3 6s to Seduce her you still beat her. Ya, she's down for it. She orders the guards to help you undress. It looks like some of them will be joining in.

Player: Oh my! But do I get to fight the manticore?

Game Master: Yes, she will let you hunt that Manticore but you are going to have to please her first.

Player: Right on it!
