Deep within the cosmos, a star glows. A red dwarf, floating hundreds of lightyears away in space. It drifts through the universe, until miraculously, it comes close to a white dwarf star. They Get caught in each other's orbits, pivoting around each other, getting closer and closer. Through that drifting, a comet just so happens to drift through that gap between those stars. The red and white stars both left a burst of their cosmic radiation onto the comet as it passed and enchanted it with a cosmic power, and giving it a bright pink glow. The immense heat and gravitational power slingshot the comet towards Earth at an astonishing speed, ready to create some chaotic changes to the humble planet.
It reached Earth on a Saturday, and had been discovered by scientists weeks ahead of time. They alerted the world to the news of the fastest and closest comet to pass by our planet in the last millennia. Along with that and its unique pink coloring, it was a marvel to science. It's immense speed meant that it would be unable to be sucked into the Earths orbit, and the calculations performed thousands of times by astrologists confirmed that it would not collide with Earth and we were, theoretically, completely safe. It was coming closest to the northern hemisphere, particularly North America, and would be crossing between the moon and earth for only 6 hours during the night. People across the continent came together for this once in a lifetime opportunity to view the rose spectacle.
One of the people witnessing this were Julia and Sam, a sweet couple in New Hampshire viewing the comet from their Apartment balcony. They were cuddled together on their couch, enjoying some long awaited company with each other. The couple had been together for roughly a year, and were taking this chance to bond during their busy lives. They didn't see each other too often, both working jobs that had them away from the house often. Sam worked a 9-5 office job, and Julia Worked a 6pm-3am bartending job. They loved each other, as much as the stress of their jobs made the time together tense. Sam took a second to look away from the beautiful pink comet of the sky and looked at his gorgeous girlfriend, cuddled in his arms. They were both in their late 20's, but she looked like she was barely 20, with such smooth and youthful features. Her long brown hair drifted down her face down to her chest, where he had a perfect view of her generous cleavage, otherwise covered by her comfy pjs. Sam tried to get his mind out of the gutter during this wholesome moment of intimacy, but couldn't help himself. Julia spent most her time not at home at the gym, and her tight fit body was driving him nuts, especially considering that hadn't had sex in weeks. Julia kept promising they would soon, but she was always tired after workouts and closing the bar, and they just hadn't found a good time to make it right. Julia had been hinting it may be tonight, but he didn't want to get his hopes up.
Before he got too many bad ideas, Sam snapped out of it and continued looking up at the bright glowing comet. The spectacle from space lit up the night sky with a beautiful pink hue. The center of the comet shined a bright scarlet color, almost blinding him if he looked too close. The scarlet of the center spread into a more bright and neon pink around the core of the comet, leading to a lighter, rose shade along the tail. The comet looked like a firework, leaving a trail of glowing sparks as it flew across the clear night sky. Sam swore he could see some of sparks and bits of the comet floating down from the sky and to the ground, but they faded away before he could see if they ever hit the ground. Sam only knew the basic science about astrology, but Julia was an expert. She said that any of the sparks and radiation from the comet coming this close were most likely harmless, and at worst would cause some flickering to the ozone layer.
"But hey, that just adds to the experience! This has never happened before!" she commented, with a bright grin on her face. Julia was so excited for the comet that she even asked for the night off from work just to watch it.
The comet was nice and all, but Sam was really hoping he'd get lucky tonight. She was in a good mood so he hoped she'd be in the mood after the comet had passed. *I wish me and Julia could spend more time together like this every night, then I'd definitely be getting laid more often.* Sam thought, half jokingly to himself. He suddenly felt an urge, a pull, to look at the center of the comet, and he squinted into the shining core as long as he could. For a moment he was confused on why was doing this, but then the comet flashed a bright vibrant pink. Sam suddenly felt a sharp burning pain and winced in pain. Julia looked up to him.
"Sam, what's wrong?"
