Second Lothering dance
After they made it to town, and he made his delivery to the shelter, they took the wagon back over to the stables. Elayne asked him if he wouldn't mind if she went and did some personal shopping, he didn't have a problem with it as long as she took both men with her. After she left to do her errands, he went into a few shops. Once he found what he was looking for and made a reservation, he headed to Dane's where they were to meet up.
"Welcome back Hawke, how did you like Highever?" Danal asked when he came over to where Hawke was sitting.
"It was good, definitely a lot busier than what I'm used to, but I missed my home, the peace. Your daughter and son-in-law are officially working for me permanently. They seem to like it there. I thank you again for letting them help out while I was gone. Danal, I need your best room for Elayne and I tonight and a room for my men."
"You're lucky, I do still have it available considering all the people in town for tonight. Where's that beautiful wife of yours at anyway?"
Hawke grinned over at Danal as Elayne came walking in excitedly. "My beautiful wife is coming in as we speak," he said as he nodded in her direction.
She came over to where they were and gave Danal a hug before sitting down by Hawke, giving him a hug and kiss. "Why didn't you tell me they were having a dance tonight, Hawke?"
"Because my sweet angel, it was a surprise. We're going to be staying here tonight, and we have dinner reservations in a few hours."
"But I don't have anything to wear, why didn't you tell me," she said in a huff as she started to get irritated.
He grinned at her and helped her up, then grabbed their bags and escorted her to their room, "Let's go check into our room."
"Hawke, I need to go..."
Once in their room, he put a hand up to stop her from continuing and handed her a couple of packages from his bag, "You should have everything you need, I hope. If not, then we can go get whatever you're missing."
She opened the packages, one contained a light blue dress with gloves and shoes, and the other had accessories that she would need. She turned to him with tears in her eyes, "Thank you, baby, you spoil me too much." She walked over to him, sat down on his lap, put her arms around him, and kissed him deeply, passionately.
He looked down at her, seeing how happy she was, "Isn't it my job to make sure my wife is happy and has everything you could want and need, my beautiful angel. Do you have everything?"
"I do, thank you. You know me too well, my love."
Elayne went and started getting ready, while he changed into his dress outfit and let her know he would be downstairs. He left one of his men at the door just to put his mind at ease. Danal came back over to him, and Hawke ordered a drink while waiting for Elayne. He sat there watching people coming in as dinner got closer. He stood up stunned when he felt her in his head as she finally came down, leaving him momentarily speechless.
The dress was backless with a deep plunging cleavage which revealed her breasts perfectly, it hugged her body, with slits on both sides that revealed part of her legs from the thighs down which he loved, it gave him easy access to her.
He walked up to her and took her hand, bowing before offering his arm, "You are absolutely stunning, my beautiful wife."
She curtsied to him, her hand going to his arm, "Thank you, my devilishly handsome husband."
He walked proudly beside her. She really was stunning and so beautiful that she made him ache inside. He took her to the same restaurant they had been to before. After being seated in a private booth, she leaned against him as he put his arm around her. "I love this place. It's so beautiful in here."
"Not as beautiful as you, my sweet princess," he whispered in her ear. When their waitress came over, they ordered their drinks and meal. After they were done with their meal, she ordered her favorite pie, and he couldn't help but remember the last time they had enjoyed a chocolate cream pie together. He chuckled as her face flushed beautifully, also remembering.
When they were done, they headed to where the dance was. Once there, he pulled her close to him, gazing down at her, marveling at the way she looked and felt in his arms.
Elayne looked up at him, "Remember our first date here?"
"Of course I do, baby. I remember that night perfectly. The night I first kissed you, I remember your lips tasting like plum wine. I remember the way you felt in my arms, absolutely perfect. I also remember how frightened my little dove was. I remember everything, baby." He felt her in his head as she examined his memories of that night, went through each detail, each feeling. This time, it was she who pulled his head down, her lips meeting his. She still tasted of plum wine, he thought. He pulled her closer against him, once again marveling at the feel of her in his arms. She was his everything, his heart and soul, his miracle, his to love and cherish forever, and he was never going to let her go.
"I love you, always and forever," he told her when their lips separated.
"I love you too, Hawke, with all my heart and soul, always and forever."
Midway through the night, he looked down at her, "You feel like taking a walk, angel?"
