Guardian Ch. 06

Looking at the now empty space around the Guardian, I decided it was time to visit the cargo hold again, to initiate the next step in freeing Lideaux of the Koogar.

*Ladies let's go see Mrs. Ubetar.*

Joy, Lucy and I teleport, levitating above the Lideaune women.

Locating Hilea Ubetar, lying on a pallet, we moved toward her. She stood up seeing us approach. We settled on the floor, in the middle of the row in front of her.

She looked much better than during out previous visit, but still appeared tired.

"Mrs. Ubetar did you get any rest?"

"A short nap."

"I'm sorry. I realize the circumstances make it difficult to sleep, even when you are exhausted. I hope you and the rest of the women get some much needed rest."

"Thank you Captain."

"You are welcome. Given that are you ready to go see your family?"

"Oh Yes!" Perking up, she answered excitedly.

"Alright, but to do that I need your permission."

"Anything! Please!"

"Let me explain what is involved before you agree. I do not want to you feel violated. I need to enter your mind to ascertain the exact location of the cave your family and others are occupying. This is required for me to teleport us there."

"It will not hurt or be harmful in any way, present or in the future, and shall be only for a very short time. You may feel a presence, which will be me, if so do not fight it."

"All though my search will be extremely restrictive, I may become aware of certain aspects of your life you prefer kept secret. You can limit these by singularly focusing and concentrating on the location of your family's cave."

Wanting to make sure she cognizant I emphasized, "Understand that during the course of this exercise there may be things revealed to me. I promise not share anything accidentally discovered."

Hesitating momentarily, pale cheeks reddening as she blushed, looked away from me.

Then back as she nodded, agreeing, "Yes."

"Understanding the what, why and implications of this action, do I have your permission to enter and read your mind? Be absolutely certain before submitting. I do not want you to experience later regrets."

"Do not feel as if you have to do this. This is not meant to force or pressure you to do anything. It will be OK to decline. We will find other means of gaining the information, just taking a little longer."

Without hesitation this time looking at me with a pixie smile, she stated, "Captain McMurdy you have my explicit permission to enter and read my mind."

"Alright. Let's get started then." I said, materializing a pair of ear plugs and handed them to her.

I instructed, "Put these in your ears and lie down on your back on your pallet. Take a deep breath and relax with arms by your side and close your eyes. Concentrate on your family's cave's location, how to get to it in relationship with and from Nulen. When we are done I will tap you on your shoulder. It won't take long. Are you ready?"

Once she was in position I gave her a moment to orient her mind. Looking at her I realized how truly beautiful she was. A little rest, food and a shower had made marked improvements in an already pretty woman.

I slipped easily into her mind.

Having her prone, relaxed, eyes closed, ears plugged, did not help or hinder my entry into her mind. It only removed distractions for her, allowing her a more concentrated focus.

I could enter and read the minds of anyone, whether they are awake, asleep or unconscious, willing or not. Most of the time entry would go unnoticed or disregarded as only a fleeting tingle.

If the subject was cognizant or becomes aware and resists I can force my way in. Force majeure could prove to be painful and possibly damaging.

She partially did as suggested and I immediately saw what I was looking for and extracted. But the instant I was inside I also saw what was embarrassing to her, causing her to blush.

The fact she was worried about keeping the sensitive thought secret, made it more pronounced.

An overall was an abiding deep love and heavy pinning for her family, her husband and daughters. Against this predominate background were all her other thoughts.

But another thought was in the forefront, bright and sharp.

All Lideaune women, regardless of the different races, were very sexual oriented, Hilea Ubetar more than most.

Their societies allowed free reign of the women's libidos, even those who were married without any stigma, due to what was called the Rite of Fertility.

In the distant past, an epidemic ravaged seventy five percent of the Lideaune men. The virulent illness did not kill but rendered the recovered men, infertile. Over a couple of centuries, with only one in four of all Lideaune men, capable of impregnating a woman, there was a severe decline in Lideaux population.

If allowed to continued, the Lideaux civilizations would collapse. To combat, the Lideaune women abandoned monogamy and had sex with multiple men, in hopes of finding a virile partner and become pregnant.

It was successful and in succeeding ages, the Lideaux population stabilized and grew.

The malady, over many generations, slowly disappeared from the male offspring, with most being fertile.

No longer needed, the Rite of Fertility, as it was called, had become so ingrained in the psyche of Lideaux and the Lideaune women had developed such a hyper sexuality that it continued as an accepted worldwide practice.

Although a happily married family woman, but Mrs. Ubetar was strongly attracted to me. She would gladly spread her legs if I indicated an interest.

She was not embarrassed about her want and need but just that I would find out.

The same was true of the several of the other women who had discussed me in open speculation and expressed desire with Mrs. Ubetar. She believed this true of all the women in the Guardian's cargo hold.

Because of their hyper sexuality, all were suffering from abstinence, enforced by their captivity.

Before their imprisonment, they had sex daily, often with more than one partner.

As I bent over tapping her on the shoulder, I noticed her shift appeared damp at the juncture of her legs.

She opened her eyes, seeing my glance, self-consciously covered the wet spot with her hand, blushing again.

Her beauty, proclivity and interest caused a stir in my groin, coming to quarter mast before I got my mind on the task at hand.

I told her, "Thank you Mrs. Ubetar. I have the necessary information and hope attaining it did not and will not cause you any future discomfort or anxiety."

"Great!...Huh..., did you... see anything that... surprised you?" She asked sitting up.

I was fairly certain that she had seen the bulge in my pants and knew the cause.

Her words were a double entendre and not divulging anything, I said, "No. Everything normal."

Everything was normal... for her and Lideaux society.

"Good," She said with an expression which could have been either relief or disappointment.

I would let her wonder if her secret was still secret.

Even though it was a boost to my male ego, for her to be attracted, as well as the others, I thought it was a combination of their Lideaux mores, the abstinence of male companionship, and my role in their salvation, which stirred their libidinous ardor more than any looks, trait or talent I possessed.

The plain fact, I was the only male in a room full of sex starved women.

I would not act on Mrs. Ubetar's inclination or any other of the Lideaune women on the Guardian.

"If you are ready to see your family then we will leave," I told her.

She stood forgetting her previous chagrin, stating "Let's go!"

I levitated to address the crowd, where everyone could see me, assuring them I would return soon to get them.

Back on the floor I spoke to Lucy, *Joy and I are going with Mrs. Ubetar to Lideaux. I will keep you appraised.*

*Yes My Captain.*

*Joy are you ready to travel?*

*Yes Master*

"Mrs. Ubetar if you are ready we shall go now.*

I teleport the three of us to the large clearing at the base of the hillside I had seen in Mrs. Ubetar mind.

In front of us, at a distance, near the hill's crest, was a group of strewn boulders, huge and small.

They effectively hid the small entrance to a large cave system, in the late evening shadows.

Nul was rift with karst topography, dissolved limestone formation of caves, tunnels and underground streams.

The resistance used the karst to their advantage.

Spotted by sentries, stationed among the boulders, we heard the raised alarm, a loud, long whistle, signifying the approach strangers, non-Koogar.

If it had been the Koogar, the sentries would have silently retreated into shadows and maze of boulders, silently relaying notice to the cave inhabitants, standing ready to defend in the event detection was inevitable.

Mrs. Ubetar put up her hand for us to remain still, not approach until given permission. To do so may be deemed hostile and we could be attacked.

She called out, "Poex Ubetar!"

A short, stocky, muscular man appeared from between the boulders, carrying a bow with a notched arrow and responded, "Who calls for Poex Ubetar?"

"Your wife, Hilea Ubetar, Poex."

"My wife is dead."

"No. I'm very much alive. How are my daughters Rilea and Bilea?"

Hearing their names two girls pushed past the man, who called for them to stop.

They started running toward us, yelling, "Mama! Mama!"

Mrs. Ubetar moved forward a several yards to meet the two women going full tilt down the hill at us.

As they neared I saw a profound resemblance between the three. The teenagers were carbon copies of their mother, just eighteen years younger.

All three were exceptionally beautiful, the teenagers, especially so.

They met in an emotional reunion of crying, hugging and kissing.

One of the teenagers yelled excitedly back up the hill, waving, "Papa it is Mama! It's Mama!"

The man, who first appeared, along with two other men, stepped away from the boulders, slowly starting down the hill.

The three men were armed, the first with bow and arrow and the other two with spears. All had swords in scabbards on belts around their waists.

When they got close to the three Lideaune women, the stocky man rushed forward, dropping his bow and arrow, to hug and kiss Mrs. Ubetar.

Holding her at arm's length he asked, "Hilea how...? The girls said you were captured by the Koogar. You OK? "

"I was and I am," Mrs. Ubetar said, turning to Joy and me, proclaimed, "Thanks to this man."

"Captain McMurdy saved me along with many more women from Koogar air ships. They are friends who want to defeat the Koogar and return Lideaux to us. He asked I bring him here to meet you."

The stocky man stepped toward me and bowed at the waist, saying, "Captain McMurdy, thank you. I am Poex Ubetar, Hilea's husband."

He added, pointing at the twin girls, expressing his displeasure, "These two foolish girls, who rushed into unknown danger, are her daughter's Rilea and Bilea."

One of the twins laughed, "Ah Papa we knew it was Mama when we heard her voice."

"We will discuss your disobedience later.

Realizing he was ignoring me, said, "I apologize for that Captain. I am in your debt. How may I help you?"

"Nothing to be sorry for. I was a soldier for many years and know that at times it is important to address issues of discipline. I would like to talk about the Nul resistance and your part in it. How we can assist each other for the common goal of Koogar defeat."

"Let's get inside the cave. I'm very interested in what you have to say. Have you had supper? There is some pretty good mushroom soup left," He said leading us up the hill, through the maze of boulders to the small, camouflaged entrance.

Inside was a small, single file tunnel about three feet wide and less than six feet tall, curving for some distance in a rough semi-circle that opened unto a large cavern used as a common area.

If it had ever come to it, the layout, tactically, was very defensible, especially against the large Koogar. I had to duck my head to pass with my shoulders brushing the sides of the walls at times.

There was a central fire pit and a spring fed pool against a side wall. Off this were multiple long branching tunnels, each with many individual caverns. The cave system was extensive going for miles, offering refuge to more than a three dozen families.

We sat around a central fire over which burbled a large metal cauldron of thick mushroom and tuber stew. The mushrooms, which the caves produced in abundance, were the main source of protein. The mushrooms when boiled with a readily available starchy tuber, harvested from the forest, made a thick, tasty, nutritious stew.

I ate a bowl of the soup while explaining to Poex Ubetar, my requests.

All I needed from the resistance was to be prepared to step in to assist, provide support and lead the liberated Lideaune. Otherwise there was danger that anarchy would ensue with loss of additional Lideaune life.

Each faction operated independently but there was a loose network of communication, by word of mouth and written messages, between Ubetar and the leaders other resistance factions.

I requested the information given to Ubetar be immediately relayed to each faction so they could be prepared to help on the morrow.

I declared, "Expect the sudden appearance of several hundred Lideaune liberated from the King's castle in the meadow around the base of the hill of your camp."

Poex said he notify the watch and assured he and the other resistance leaders would be ready, waiting on my notice.

The notice would be the appearance of Guardian in the sky.

Saying goodbye, with an extra heavy hug and knowing, suggestive kiss on the cheek, from Mrs. Ubetar, Joy and I teleport back to Guardian.

After updating Lucy, I teleport the cloaked Guardian to a stationary position, five hundred feet above the late Nul King's castle, now occupied by the Koogar.

Night had long fallen, but did not stop or restrict our view.

On screen we zoomed in, watching a group of 30 Koogars milling around a huge courtyard where the transport ship was parked. About half of Koogars were boarding, appearing to be on the move.

It was the first time we had seen a full body profile of a Koogar.

Tall and bulky, their green, scaly, muscular upper form was covered with a dark grey mantle reaching past the waist where it was belted above black britches and boots. A large uncovered tail extended from the seat of their pants, several feet.

This was too good an opportunity to pass up and I readied a tachyon particle disseminator.

When the transport ship started its warm-up, prior to take off, I unleashed the tachyon particle and the entire courtyard was flooded with purple.

The air filled with crackling and the odor of burnt ozone.

When the purple cleared, nothing was left but a smoking crater in the courtyard, where the cargo ship and Koogar troops had been.

A klaxon sounded with another two dozen or so Koogar erupting from a building on the far side of the courtyard, which I presumed was barracks.

Weapons displayed, they spread out, cautiously approaching the smoldering hole in courtyard, anxiously looking around and peering at the sky.

When they grouped together at the crater rim, the purple death revisited. Leaving, there were no Koogar, just wispy trails of purple swiftly dissipating.

I scanned the castle, locating and teleporting all the Lideaune inside, a dozen or so working around the castle and a couple of hundred in the dungeon, to the hillside outside the Uberta camp.

The Koogar feeding time was past and as such I was too late to save the women who had been their pleasures and meals for the night.

The scan revealed that there were about fifty Koogars, officers, guards and other troops like a radio operator scattered about the castle.

We had acquired the Koogar base's radio frequency from the transmissions between it and the fighters in space. Over this frequency I heard a radio operator, who apparently had a visual on the courtyard, trying to contact the vaporized transport.

I demanded, "Base get your commander I shall talk to him."

Even with the deadly, furious attack, literally seconds past, the radio operator's Koogar arrogance came to the fore.

"Who makes demands of the mighty Koogar?!"

"Dumbass, the one who just destroyed your transport and killed all the troops around it. Now shut the fuck up and get your commander!"

"PRONTO!"

With the scan focused on the radio room and leaving the mike open I heard and saw the operator telling another Koogar to go advise Admiral Vzozv that an unknown threat demands to talk to him.

Ten minutes later I saw two Koogar enter the room and a deep growly voice told the radio operator, "Contact the worm."

I answered before the radio operator could speak, "Are you the ass wipe Vzozv, the so called leader of the measly Koogar?"

"Regardless whether you are or not, you are in a world shit. I have destroyed your battle cruisers which were orbiting the planet."

"I intercepted and destroyed the three battle cruisers which left here five years ago."

"All of your fighters have been atomized. Less than fifteen minutes ago I obliterated your transport ship, the last of your ships, along with about 50 of your troops."

"I shall search out and kill the remainder of your troops out on patrol."

"I have removed all the Lideaune prisoners from the castle. You are alone, isolated, few in numbers and cannot move without me destroying."

"In plain language your dimwitted mind might comprehend, YOU ARE FUCKED!"

Vzozv sputtered, cursing and started to bellow in rage, but I cut him off, removing his ability to speak.

"Yeah dipshit. Shut the fuck up. I do not want to hear your impotent, stupid, blustering blather. This not a negotiation, I demand your immediate surrender. If you do not I will kill every Koogar on Lideaux! Starting with you!"

"All are vulnerable and I can reach out and strike at any time. If you doubt my power and ability look at the Koogar who entered the room with you."

The mentioned Koogar turned to run when I teleport him into space. One instant he was there and the next he was gone.

"Stupid if you will not run your mouth, I will release your tongue. If you lie and start your bull shit again, I will rip your tongue out of your head."

Vzozv was shaken, aware of the mysterious disappearance of the battle cruisers and fighters, by the sudden absence of the Koogar, and his inability to talk, nodded and I allowed him to regain his voice.

"What are your terms for the Koogar surrender?"

"Recall all your patrols around the city, to assemble, weaponless, with those troops still here, in the courtyard. Send a command to the other Koogar forces, across the planet, to surrender in the same manner, assembling in the castle courtyard of the city they occupy. This shall be accomplished without further harm befalling another Lideaune."

"If all is complied, I will allow the Koogar to live and send you to a place of safety."

"Non-compliance of a single condition shall guarantee your death."

"Who are you?" the defeated Koogar asked.

"Guardian."

The scan showed Vzozv shoulders drop as he acquiesced, "Guardian, I accept your terms for Koogar surrender.*

"Get on the radio and give the commands. I expect all to be done by daybreak."
