Hello again. This is another request but a bit different than what I usually do. Though I did enjoy writing it, it's fun trying new things from time to time, hope you enjoy.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The year is 2237. Humans have found a way to travel through space and colonize other worlds and build relationships with other intelligent species. They have spent the past century or trying to build a trading network across the galaxy and have established a sort of galactic council system for all species to work together to further progress and learn about each other. A few months ago, a new planet has been discovered, Velgoss. A scouting party was sent to evaluate it's worth and value. After weeks of debating, the council deemed the Velgoss worthy of having their own seat amongst them.
The Humans have made contact with the Velgoss and have now chosen to send one of their representatives to the planet to establish a relationship between the two species. After a lot of time going through the candidates they chose a diplomat by the name of James Burnthall. A young man well known for his friendly yet firm nature when it comes to negotiating and talking to other species. Having successfully negotiated between three other species, the humans decided to send him to the Velgoss as a sign of good will. The Velgoss were informed of their decision and agreed to let James into their society and meet with their own negotiator, prince Zyrix Vayrek.
After learning of his new mission, James was more than over zealous as this would bring him closer to his goal of becoming earth's ambassador should it be a success. He wasted no time packing his luggage and grabbed all the intel he could gather about the Velgoss. Information was scarce as it was a relatively new world for humans, besides their physical forms and some other interesting characteristics they possessed, not much was revealed about their culture or values. This would prove to be more of a challenge than the diplomat anticipated. He had to learn how to negotiate and adapt his speech to the Velgoss while he was there. But He was confident in his abilities and ready to do whatever it took to close the deal. With that in mind, he sets off into the night sky on a ship towards the planet Velgoss.
After a week's long trip, someone knocks on James' quarters' door. "Sir, we've arrived, we'll be entering the planet's atmosphere shortly."
James was napping at the time but quickly regained his senses. "Oh, thank you for letting me know. I shall prepare for arrival." He stepped towards the window in the corner of his room and looked out as the ship entered the Velgoss. The sky had a beautiful mix of purple hues and electric blue. "At least it's not too ugly." He mumbled to himself jokingly.
The descent took quite some time, a solid hour or so but eventually, the ship lands on the surface of the planet and a few minutes later, the captain's voice comes through the intercom. "We have touched down. Mr. Burnthall, please await in your quarters, two of my men will escort you outside the ship and will remain with you for the duration of your stay here. Just don't do anything stupid and don't get into any fights."
James chuckled a bit at the captain's warning. "Thank you Captain, I'll be sure to follow your advice to a tee." The com shuts off as James finishes packing and takes a second look outside. He could see the landing pad and the massive building nearby that is what could only assume to be the king's palace. The palace stands on a rocky cliff that towers over shimmering crystal lakes, with towering spires stretching toward three strange, hovering moons. The building itself is an immense structure of unknown metals and iridescent gemstones that seem to shift color as the light changes. It seems almost alive, pulsing with a gentle bioluminescence in hues of emerald and silver. Strange alien flora clings to the palace's exterior, each plant with translucent, spiral leaves and bulbous pods that emit soft, warm light. Towering sculptures and statues of alien creatures and beasts flank the entrance. James felt a wave of excitement overcome him at the thought of seeing the inside of such a magnificent place. "Such beautiful scenery..." he whispers to himself.
A few moments later, James hears knocking on his door. He opens it to see two soldiers standing there, wearing white suits with helmets, carrying guns on their sides. They both salute him. "Hello Sir, we are here to escort you off the ship." One of them says.
"Great timing, thank you both for being here." James smiles at the two. They both lead him through the ship's corridors and then back to the cargo hold where the loading ramp is down, the two soldiers stay close to James as they make their way down the ramp. The second they step foot outside, James feels like he is under water, everything around him seems slow and he can hear sounds reverberating in his head. "What is this?" he thinks to himself as he struggles to walk forward.
One of the soldiers notices his struggle and puts a hand on his shoulder. "Sir? Are you okay?"
James shakes his head. "Yea.. I'm fine." He takes a deep breath and slowly exhales, feeling his body relax and his mind clear up. "It's just the atmosphere here, it feels heavy, but I'm okay now." He reassures the soldier who nods in return.
The three make their way over to the large building where two guards stand outside. They approach the guards. The two Velgoss are about 6 foot tall and wearing some kind of armor, a chest plate of sorts and are holding very sharp looking spears that seem like they could pierce through a ship's hull like nothing. Although they look mostly humanoid, each have a different shades of purple and blue skin color. Although they were are wearing helmets, the top of it is off, and Instead of hair, they have tendrils coming out of the top of their heads that look to be about 4 or 5 feet long. They both have fish eyes, but the guard on the right has orange eyes while the left one's are green. James also notices four thick tentacles coming out of their lower backs that look to be about 5 or 6 feet in length. From what James read about them, every Velgoss has them and have complete control over them.
"Greetings, we are earthlings sent by the Intersepecies alliance of Gall'ohckarr. We are here to meet with the king's negotiator." James states confidently. The guards eye them up and down and then look at each other, they whisper something amongst themselves and then step aside. "You may enter." One of them says. James smiles and bows his head politely to the guards before entering.
The inside of the palace is even more impressive than the outside, with beautiful sculptures, paintings, and decorations of all sorts. The main hall is lined with columns carved from translucent crystal that radiate soft light. These columns reach up to a vaulted ceiling covered in intricate, interconnected mosaics, depicting the galaxy complete with. Suspended above the hall is a massive, rotating orb representing the planet. As the orb spins, it glows, bathing the room in multicolored light.
"Wow, this place is amazing." James thought to himself as they walked down the hall. They eventually came to a stop in front of two massive doors, each decorated with strange markings and symbols that looked like they were glowing. The soldiers escorting James looked around and waited patiently. It took only a few minutes for the door to open up and out walks a Velgoss wearing what looks to be a fancy suit made of shimmering blue fabric, with silver trims. He walks towards them and smiles. "Welcome earthlings, I am glad you are here. My name is Velotr Singar." He puts his hand out for James to shake it. "I believe this is how you greet each other in your home world, yes?"
James nods and shakes Velotr's hand. "Yes, that is correct, and it's a pleasure to meet you. I am James Burnthall, a representative for the human race and this is my escort. I hope we didn't keep you waiting too long." He introduces himself and the two soldiers beside him.
