Come on, how could he not choose C̴͔̅ŏ̷̲ņ̸͆s̷̏͜ö̸͉́l̴̩̇e̷̜̚ ̵̟̕Ä̷̦́ç̷͂c̶̟͘e̵̡̍s̷̰̓s̵͙͝? It's clearly bugged. If Jason is going to get isekai'd, he might as well go all in. he's probably fucked no matter what, so if the ability is good, then he's given himself a leg up. And if it's bad... well, like he figured, he was probably fucked anyway.
The terrifying mass of tentacles and wings that could only be described as a biblically accurate angel accepted his choice and slowly floated away. As it faded into the distance, everything started to go black. Should he have picked something else? Shapeshifter was a cool idea, lots of fun things to do with that. Telepathy? Telekinesis? There were a lot of other cool options and Jason was starting to get buyers' remorse. He hadn't been on a time limit, had he? It seems like he just panicked. He wondered if he should have taken more time to decide, or to maybe ask questions. Easier to think that now though, as the creature floated off, but Jason is pretty sure he didn't have it in him to ask questions while directly in the creature's terrifying presence.
Well, maybe I'll get a third chance if I fuck this one up. He thought to himself. Probably not though. Hell, how likely was even getting a second chance? He didn't even know why he was getting a second chance. Oh well, fuck it. Time to see how this plays out.
----------
Jason's mind was cloudy as he came to. Had it been a dream? Well, probably not, otherwise he wouldn't be waking up in... what is this, some kind of cave? Looking around he could see it didn't go any deeper underground, and the small entrance couldn't be more than thirty feet in front of him.
He didn't have much time to think or get his bearings before a shadow passed in front of the entrance. He froze, uncertain what to do. Another shadow moved by outside. Shit, was that the same thing, or a new thing? A third shadow went by, and then a fourth Finally, at the fifth shadow he heard something.
It was certainly the sound of something speaking, but he couldn't make out the words. In moments, the shadows passing by outside were no longer shadows, but the outlines of several bipedal creatures at the entrance to the cave.
There was nothing to hide behind, nowhere to go. Jason was stuck just lying there in the middle of the tunnel, hoping they didn't see him.
Of course, they spotted him instantly. He knew this because they started shouting, and he could see several spears being leveled at him.
When the shouting didn't stop he figured just laying down wasn't what they wanted, so he decided it was time to say something.
"Hello." he said. "I'm sorry, but I don't understand you."
That was clearly not expected because after a moment of silence the shouting began again. Well, time to try something else then. How about standing up?
As Jason slowly brought himself to his feet the shouting stopped. It was at this point he realized two things. First, he was significantly taller than the other beings, more than twice their height. Second, he was nude. Well, of course he was. Bringing his clothes with him to a new life would have been too much to hope for, certainly.
