Due to the number of abbreviations, ship listings, and list of characters, in this story, I include a glossary that is now in a stand-alone chapter called

'All That Glitters: Notes v 14'

. Any and all information that you want or need to know about the series is included in Notes. It will be updated frequently simply by re-issuing the chapter to Literotica as a new version.

There is little attempt to explain the back story, so it is necessary to read previous chapters to fully understand where we are.

As before, I claim sole responsibility for the story line. This story is a fantasy, with no basis in reality. Any similarity that you may perceive to current events, people, or situations real or imaginary is completely unintended. Look no further than the storyline for its intent and purpose.

A big shout out to my editors, who wish to remain anonymous, for all the help they provide. If you find any errors still left in this chapter, they are mine, as I have ignored sage advice to make a silly point.

NS Dreadnaught, In Orbit of Hwill'illiti'lottall, The Hwill'illiti'hallat Home World, The Hollaattall-ii-falla System, 927 Light Years from Terra

The NS Dreadnaught came into existence above the gravity well of Hwill'illiti'lottall, the Hwill'illiti'hallat home world. They contacted Planetary Control and came down as per instructions into the gravity well. Once in orbit, they sent down two large, specially prepared cargo shuttles that had been converted into VIP shuttles specifically for the Sandekk and the Djinaëte, the largest member species of the Greater Community.

Within minutes of landing, the shuttle was boarded by its expected passengers. Less than one hour after having been sent down, the shuttles were back on the Dreadnaught as the former Sister Caniiteenaada, now designated as a Mother-To-Be, her Drones, her Attendants, and Soldiers marched into the Dreadnaught to be met by Mother-To-Be Herr-ii and her entourage.

«Welcome, Caniiteenaada. It is good to see you once again,» Herr-ii exclaimed with sincerity.

«It is good to see you too, Her-ii. Our circumstances have changed. We are once again equal in rank, though we will not see each other again in person in future. We are instructed to remain good friends and to see that our respective hives do not attempt vengeance on each other. Let us begin here as we reunite after several years apart.»

Herr-ii had once been a Sister in the Djinaëte Embassy to the Hwill'illiti'hallat home world. She had been posted to the Interspecies Embassy on Liramor-23 and only had contact with her friend and fellow ambassador through the ICS as Caniiteenaada had never been to the Denders Summits.

«We shall enter the ship proper, where the Captain and senior officials will greet us. They will have their Marines along the length of a red carpet. Do not be surprised by, nor react to, whatever they might do as a military salute,» Herr-ii warned their combined entourages.

They moved up the ramp and into the large reception area. Marines on either side of them came to attention and raised their weapons in salute to the pair as they moved to the reception line at the end of the room. One of the humans stood forward and bowed, hands over eyes, to the Mothers-To-Be.

"Welcome Mother-To-Be Caniiteenaada, Mother-To-Be Herr-ii, to the Navy Ship Dreadnaught. We are pleased to have you both here and to be your escort for your trip to your new home world. I am Fleet Admiral Fiona Marsh, commanding Sector Fifty-Nine, which supports the Interspecies Community."

This creature is small by Djinaëte standards,

Caniiteenaada thought.

Her people are obviously deferential to her. That makes her a senior representative of the humans. She also knows and understands protocol for other species as she has bowed in the appropriate manner to us.

«Admiral Marsh was once the Director of Operations for Liramor-23 before she became the commander of Sector Fifty-Nine,» Herr-ii informed her friend.

That is why she understands protocol,

Caniiteenaada thought to herself. She looked over and noted a familiar face.

«You are the one called Fayad,» Caniiteenaada stated. «You offered us the use of this ship.»

"You are correct, Mother-To-Be Caniiteenaada. We are pleased to greet you in person.»

«How long before your ship is ready to jump again?»

"The ship was ready to jump the moment you set foot on it, Mother-To-Be," a new human stated. "We have filed a flight plan and are awaiting confirmation from Planetary Control."

"Your ship can jump now? It takes many hours for our ships to be ready to jump after such a distance."

"This ship is a warship with multiple redundancies. We have extra jump generators that can move us as required, Mother-To-Be." The same human spoke.

"Mother-To-Be Caniiteenaada, if I may introduce the Captain of this vessel, Captain Marcel Savine," Fayad introduced the person who had just spoken. The Captain bowed in the appropriate manner.

«This ship is part of your forces, Admiral?» Caniiteenaada demanded.

"It is, Mother-To-Be."

«How long before we can jump, then?»

"That I cannot tell you, Mother-To-Be. Planetary Control will inform us when we can depart in response to our flight plan. They are probably attempting to contact Djinaëte space to approve our plan.

"The Djinaëte may or may not return the request promptly as a Djinaëte ship is not involved. However, we have indicated the reason for our trip into Djinaëte space, as the escort for two Mothers-To-Be. That should elicit a prompt response," Fayad replied.

Caniiteenaada made the laughing sound of the Djinaëte.

Yes, that would indeed get them up onto their legs!

she thought to herself.

«These others, then?»

"The senior staff of this ship, Mother-To-Be. If I may introduce them?"

Caniiteenaada gave her permission, and the Captain promptly gave her the names and positions of those in the receiving line.

"Would you like a tour of the ship, Mothers-To-Be?" the captain asked after.

«I would be interested in seeing this ship,» Caniiteenaada admitted.

The tour was perfunctory and brief by necessity as they did not know when they would have to move. However, it included the highlights of the ship; the engineering rooms, the bridge, and the cafeteria. Surprisingly, there was food edible to the Djinaëte in the mess.

The bridge also proved to be enlightening to the Djinaëte as the great view screen at the front of the bridge used natural light which allowed the Djinaëte to make use of the light wavelengths needed by their eyes.

«These view screens are amazing, Captain,» Caniiteenaada commented.

«They are available for sale from human electronics stores,» Herr-ii told her friend.

«They are much better than the ones we use. How can I purchase such devices? I would make use of them in my new Hive.»

"As a former member of the ambassadorial staff to the Interspecies Embassy, Mother-To-Be Her-ii is familiar with the brands and producers that make these products. I am sure she can be persuaded to help you get in contact with them," Marsh suggested.

Caniiteenaada received a nod from Her-ii. «My people can contact your people, my friend. We can arrange for you to make the purchases from the humans. This will benefit both of our hives and the Djinaëte people as a whole.»

«I believe you are correct, Herr-ii. As new Mothers-To-Be, we will have some influence among the Council of Mothers. These new products will help us solidify our positions as future members of the Council of Mothers.»

The tour was returning to the reception area when the captain received word from the bridge.

"Bridge to Captain, we have just received confirmation on our flight plan. We can move out of the well in fifteen minutes, sir."

"Understood. My compliments to Planetary Control. Take us up at the agreed-upon time. We want to arrive in Djinaëte space as per schedule. We want no issues with the Mothers-To-Be on our ship," Captain Savine ordered.

«A wise choice, Captain,» one of the Attendants for Mother-To-Be Caniiteenaada remarked.

As they arrived back at the reception area, they saw the bridge on the overly large monitors in that room. While they were not as large as the great monitor on the bridge, they did allow all in the room to follow all that was taking place on the bridge.

"Time. Pilot, move us out of the gravity well. Comms O, send the Captain's compliments to Planetary Control and advise them we are moving as per the flight plan." 'Aye, sirs', promptly followed the orders.

"Sir, Pilot, we are moving to intercept the outbound lane in the direction of our jump vector as per the track provided. We will be at speed in ten minutes."

"Roger. Confirm when we are at speed."

"Sir, Comms O. Planetary Control acknowledges our flight plan and wishes us good fortune."

"Thank you, Comms."

"Sir, Pilot, we are now at speed to jump."

"Sir, Nav, we are on the plot."

"Roger. Pilot, activate the grid. Comm O, ship's wide to me."

"Sir, you have ship's wide."

"All personnel, this is the Number One. We are about to jump into Djinaëte space. As we are on the far side of the Greater Community, and Djinaëte space is closer to human space, this will be a triple jump. Stand by for first jump."

"Sir, Pilot, the grid is open and ready for jump."

"Roger. All personnel. We are jumping now, now, NOW!"

The pilot lifted the safety caps and plunged his thumbs down on the two grid activation buttons. The jump grid was already charged. As soon as the buttons were pressed, the full power of six overly large Marilon/Aruna generators coursed through the jump grid, and a jump bubble formed immediately around the large ship. A moment later, the Dreadnaught disappeared from Hwill'illiti'hallat space in a cloud of electromagnetic dust.

NS Dreadnaught in Orbit of TellmenttAR, Unnamed System. Forty-Three Light Years from DjinaëteAR, The Djinaëte Realm

After jumping more than 600 light years, the NS Dreadnaught came into orbit of TellmenttAR, one of the more established planets in the Djinaëte Realm. Following the orders of Planetary Control, they descended into their assigned orbit and dropped four special VIP shuttles to the surface. Two of the shuttles settled on the shuttle port of Hive Allinntta, while the other two settled at Hive L^%c@#vor.

From the first shuttle, Mother-To-Be Caniiteenaada and her entourage stepped forth at Hive Allinntta. The Mother-To-Be was radiating her authority, her pheromones spreading outward at an astonishing rate. Since she had been designated a Mother-To-Be, her pheromones had been building, changing, preparing her to meet and take charge of her new hive.

Her body, too, had been changing, preparing her for her ultimate purpose, the producer of new hive members. Her children, the future of the hive.

Tens of thousands of her subjects came from within the great hive to greet their new Mother, all bowing with hands over eyes to the saviour of their great city. Without her, the hive would soon have gone into withdrawal from the loss of their former Mother's pheromones. In a matter of days, the hive would have withered away and died.

Caniiteenaada's presence changed all of that, allowing for a continuation of the great city. Several Attendant Class members of the hive crept forward to literally prostrate themselves before her.

«Who have we here?» the new Mother demanded coldly.

«I am Clo^&&%, the former C^^las%* Attendant (Head Attendant) of the late Mother Allinntta, Mother-To-Be. We are very grateful for your presence. This hive has been in existence for more than 130,000 cycles and would have perished without your presence.»

So, a hanger on who wishes to retain her power,

Caniiteenaada thought to herself.

Still, The Hive will need continuity of some kind...

«Clo^&&%, you will stand to my left,» Caniiteenaada ordered.

While it was not an outright dismissal of the former C^^las%* Attendant, it was a demotion of sorts. Clo^&&% was no longer the C^^las% but was still attached to the center of power. Understanding that she could have been cast aside, she gratefully stood to the left of the new Mother.

Caniiteenaada moved to the great open area before the entrance to the hive where a large pyre had been built upon which rested the body of Allinntta. By general consensus, the body of a Mother was never recovered by the hive for resources. A Mother's body was considered sacrosanct.

Caniiteenaada noted the reverence that the members of the hive gave to the late Mother. She stepped forward and looked upon the form of her predecessor. After a moment, she moved away up the slope leading toward the entrance to the Great Hive. Her Hive. That thought sparked a new level of pheromones from her, to which her new subjects were openly responding.

«My predecessor was well loved by the people of this hive, even if she did something that was inexcusable to the Djinaëte people. She will be missed by this hive. But this hive is no longer Hive Allinntta.

«With the passing of her body, I claim this city and name it Hive Caniiteenaada.»

Caniiteenaada took a nearby torch and moved around the pyre, touching it at different places along the bottom. The funeral pyre promptly caught ablaze, forcing her to move back. She watched the blaze for a moment before turning to the people she had brought with her. Among them were two Drones.

Caniiteenaada stepped into an open area well away from the burning pyre and used her mating pheromones to call her Drones to her. The call was too much for the Drones, who instantly came to do her bidding. They were ready, as was she.

For the first time in her life, Caniiteenaada felt the desire, the lust for sex. As a Sister, sex was something beyond her experience. But not as a Mother...

She was dutifully mounted by her two Drones in accordance with their rank. She then turned to the five Drones of the late Mother. Two of them she immediately rejected as too old, unsuitable. As the rejected Drones withered and died, she took the other three in succession.

Twice more, she mated with all the Drones in the order of the rank she had established. By the time the pyre had burned down Caniiteenaada was no longer a Mother-To-Be, but was now a bona fide Mother, soon to begin passing eggs.

Sated, Caniiteenaada rolled her head back and gave out a great cry of joy. She was now, for better or worse, the Mother of this hive, Hive Caniiteenaada.

Caniiteenaada would only have two days in which to see her hive. She would speed through the great city, leaving a trail of her pheromones behind her. Already, the workers in the hive had set the great fans, which normally drew air into the hive, to blow the air out of the hive. With it, would go most of the pheromones of the late Mother. Caniiteenaada's own pheromones would soon replace the residual pheromones of the late Mother. Within a week, the hive would fully belong to her.

Caniiteenaada contemplated what to do next. In two days, her abdomen would begin to swell, forcing her to become sedentary as the fertilized eggs began to leave her body and were moved by her Attendants to the nursery, the very heart of the hive. From that moment on, she would never see the outside of her apartments again.

Becoming a Mother came with great authority, but it also came with major limitations. She would become what her title implied; the Mother of this great city. All future Djinaëte produced in this hive would be her offspring, perhaps tens of thousands per year.

************

Hundreds of Henda away (a Djinaëte unit of measurement slightly less than one kilometre), a similar act was being carried out by Her-ii, establishing herself as the Mother of the Hive Her-ii.

The Council of Mothers looked on via ICS link with great pleasure at the re-establishment of the two hives. The continuation of these two ancient, great cities was assured.

TellmenttAR, as it was known to other races, was one of the first planets ever populated by the Djinaëte, and these two hives were amongst the first ever established there. They were almost as old as the great hives of DjinaëteAR itself. Their loss would have been devastating. The Council of Mothers contacted the NS Dreadnaught, Mother Mehetralin once again speaking for the Council.

«Fiona Marsh, former Director of Operations for Liramor-23, and now the commander of Navy Sector Fifty-Nine, you have lived up to our expectations. Something we honestly did not expect as your ship has proved more capable in some regards than our own.

«Our Great Ships are the only ones we know of that can span the distances your ship has just completed. Our ships would have taken days to bring the new Mothers to TellmenttAR as they would have to recharge between the necessary jumps.

«Our scientists have told us of your incredible power generators and we now have proof of their capabilities. That they can recharge within one hour's time is an amazing feat to us. Regardless, in this situation, your ship's capabilities have saved two ancient hives.

«We designate you as equal to a Sister. The Djinaëte will hereby know you as Sister Fiona Marsh. You have the power to call and direct the Council of Sisters in your local area. You stand as their equal. You have the power to ask for a session of the Council of Mothers. No Sister is our equal, but all Sisters can call for support from the Council of Mothers. Do not abuse this power.

«Go with the blessings and the thanks of the Council of Mothers, Sister Marsh.»

Fiona bowed low in the approved Djinaëte fashion, hands over eyes, and thanked Mother Mehetralin for the great honour she had bestowed on her.

«Fayad, you are not a female. This is a statement of fact. To us, no male can rise to any significant rank other than that of Drone and you, Fayad, can not do

that

for us. Even so, you spoke with authority and made clear suggestions that helped in this matter.

«The Djinaëte owe you and your offspring a debt we cannot repay. If ever you have need, ask of us. If we can do this thing, we will.» Mehetralin abruptly closed out the connection, ending the audience.

"Sir, the shuttles have been taken back on board," the Number One informed the Captain.

Fiona turned and nodded to her people. "Well done all. We have accomplished something significant here today. Captain Savine, log a flight plan and get us back to Liramor-23."

"Aye, Sister Marsh," the Captain replied, getting cheering, hooting, and amused teasing of 'Drone Fayad' from the bridge crew.

Fiona and Fayad did fist bumps and nodded to acknowledge the applause, then left the bridge for the cafeteria. They had not eaten yet and were quite hungry.

Ville de Liramor, Liramor Prime, Liramor System, Thirty Light Years from Terra

The family was back on Liramor Prime, this time to see Galina Maricran, the co-owner of Maricran Music and their friend.

The Girls had been trying to figure out how to get the audience to participate more in the event before going to Denders. They knew, from watching past concerts, that audience participation was mandatory for a successful concert. If the audience wasn't into it, your concert was going downhill.
