Due to the number of abbreviations, ship listings, and list of characters, in this story, I include a glossary that is now in a stand-alone chapter called
'All That Glitters: Notes v 14'
. Any and all information that you want or need to know about the series is included in Notes. It will be updated frequently simply by re-issuing the chapter to Literotica as a new version.
There is little attempt to explain the back story, so it is necessary to read previous chapters to fully understand where we are.
As before, I claim sole responsibility for the story line. This story is a fantasy, with no basis in reality. Any similarity that you may perceive to current events, people, or situations real or imaginary is completely unintended. Look no further than the story line for its intent and purpose.
A big shout out to my editors, who wish to remain anonymous, for all the help they provide. If you find any errors still left in this chapter, they are mine, as I have ignored sage advise to make a silly point.
Please rate and comment. But keep your comments respectful. If you rant and rave or are disrespectful in your commentary, it will be deleted.

The Kumaraie was furious and let it show on her face, something she rarely did. She was a consummate politician and diplomat and had achieved a 'poker face' as the humans called it, long ago.
However, today she let that face fall and her anger was manifest. Not that it deterred those she was angry with...
"We cannot allow this to happen, My Kumaraie!" Callet-Mun Kai-Rai, the leader of the Council of Warriors nearly shouted at the Kumaraie. "There is no precedent for this!"
"Of course not, you fool. Such as this has never occurred before," the Kumaraie barked back angrily. "Let me ask you this, Callet, had these two been of the Pod-Drran would that have made a difference in your decision?"
Callet was initially taken aback by the question but she had to admit that it would have been very different had they been of the Pod-Drran.
"No Pod-Drran brood would ever have been in a position to do this, Callet," the Kumaraie continued. "But this is going to change as more females begin to reject the Rakkan. It will inevitably bring broods into peril, peril they will be forced to act against, just as these two have.
"However, how likely is it that they would survive as my Goddaughters have?" the Kumaraie demanded.
Callet was bitter over this whole affair. These two brood mates had made a mockery of Pod-Drran Warriors, not only by besting two trained human killers in single combat, but also by besting the formidable Rai, Hatta-Torre, who was later executed for having drawn her Kaldar not only in the presence of the Kumar-Pair but also in the presence of most of the rulers of the Greater Community. The Kumaroe had forced the Torres clan's Phrat-Mahi and Sire to present Hatta's Ga-Den and her Kaldar to the brood-pair, an unheard of event.
What galled Callet most was that her hand was being turned not by the Warrior Class, but by the common Classes of the people! The people were angry that the Council of Warriors had shunned the Chohdae (Little one, a term of endearment usually used within a family. Chohda is singular, Chohdae plural regardless of sex). They had become the darlings of the Pod-Drran having been claimed as part of the Kumaraie's family when she become 'Godmother' to the pair. That meant the House of Piscium, the House of the Atohan herself, was Dusar to the House of Se-Lam and these Chohdae had not only lived up to the expectations of that House, they had exceeded it by a great margin.
Callet ground her teeth. She knew she was in the wrong here but had no way to change her response without it seeming that she had capitulated to the mob. The very mob that was attempting to have her, and some of the other senior elders of the Council, removed from office because of this issue! Her removal would allow the other members of the Council to act as if they had opposed Callet, when in fact it was their decision that Callet was putting forth. Now, those same Council members pretended that they had nothing to do with the decision as Callet was the face of the Council.
"You are doing this to enhance your own House, My Kumaraie," Callet stated.
The Kumaraie took a few moments to reflect and allow herself to shed some of her stress over the situation. She looked at Callet and recognized that the leader of the Council of Warriors was herself under more than a little stress.
"You know that is not true, Callet-Mun. I would do this for any worthy member of the Warrior Class," the Kumaraie stated.
"What do we need to do to come to an equitable consensus Callet?" she asked. Putting the burden squarely on Callet's shoulders.
"It cannot appear that you are pushing this, My Kumaraie. This request must come from another source, other than the House of Se-Lam," Callet suggested.
"Who would you consider to be an equitable source?" Kad-Hal Kumir-Sai-Rai, the head of the Kumir-Rai asked.
"Someone from the floor of the Grand Hall that is considered to be neutral," Callet suggested.
The suggestion brought a smile to the Kad-Hal's face. "I know just the person.."
The Offices of the Council of Empaths, Scherm's City, Hollander's World, The Sullivan System, Sixty Light Years from Terra
Petronellaya was reeling from the shock that Junelliya was going to have twins. It had been bad enough for her and her office trying to clean up the problems that Junelliya, Ikekiya, and Zarreniya had inadvertently, though innocently, created.
Petronellaya was sitting on the chair when she felt Zarreniya climb up beside her on her left side. Ikekiya was now standing on the chair on her right side. Both girls were stroking her cheek and reassuring her that they would help with the new babies.
Both girls were using their empathic skills to push calm and peace to the councillor, shocking Kriss to the core.
Shit!
she thought.
The notes had said that they could use their powers but this selectively?!
"Girls!" Junelliya warned.
"Is OK, mamma," Zarreniya told her. "We need help make her calm."
"Uh huh," Ikekiya agreed. "We make Aunty 'Nellaya worry, she need calm."
The two children each kissed one of her cheeks and then purred in her ears, just like the Cats did. Ellaya laughed as she slipped forward and kissed her friend.
"It's a future problem," she giggled. "Why don't we leave it for then? This is, for the family, a joyous occasion."
An honest smile finally formed on Petronellaya's face. She pulled the children in close and hugged them getting giggles from them.
"See, mamma, we did good," Zarreniya told her mother.
"They did indeed," Petronellaya replied. "I was not aware that you could use your powers so selectively."
"Uh, huh. We get better since we be Palda," Ikekiya exclaimed.
"We have gotten much better since we have become Palda," Kriss reworded Ikekiya's speech.
Ikekiya looked at Kriss and sighed. "It going to be hard for us Zarreniya," she said with a little pouty face that caused all the adults to laugh.
There was a knock on the door and Petronellaya's assistant stuck her head in. "I'm sorry, Petronellaya. However, the Director Altynal and the actor Baeeta are here."
"Oh, yes. They are not due for another hour. Why don't you send them in, I'm sure they will want to meet the Pisciums. Sorry, Junelliya, but Altynal is somewhat pushy."
"Not at all, I remember when he called us and we redirected him to Doctor Maya who directed him to you," Junelliya answered.
"Oh, so it was you who sent him our way, eh?" Petronellaya said with a mock air of hostility, getting giggles from the girls.
*I need to speak with her about the changes she made to my script!* an angry male Byandi voice was heard to say in Byandi outside the open door.
Altynal came bursting through the door with an indignant look on his face. *You ordered changes to my script!* he practically roared.
"You are deviating from the agreed script, Altynal," Petronellaya replied, equally as strong. "You are not making a super hero adventure show; you are making a Private Investigator series!"
*But she has all these powers! It just makes sense to push them to the fore!!* Altynal answered.
