Sixty Light Years from Terra
The Trine woke up the next day in the hotel bed when their new pets licked their respective noses to tell them it was time to eat.
"Are we going to go through this every morning?" Hanalei asked, with a fake pout.
Junelliea smiled at her, knowing her moods. It was her time of the month, and she was always grumpy then. Junelliea never grumped. She had too much of interest going for her lately.
"I'm sure only one of us will need to get up to feed them once they get used to us," she told her miserable mate, with a bright smile, further angering Hanalei.
"You're always such a happy person, damn it," Hanalei griped, getting a smile from her mates.
Fayad and Hanalei pulled on dressing gowns and moved into the sitting area where Fayad made a call to housekeeping to ask about feeding Cats. Some ten minutes later, a woman knocked on their door and entered on the summons. A Cat was ridding her shoulder.
"Hello, I'm Murhaya, I've heard that new empaths have bonded with Cats and are looking for instruction?" she said, diplomatically.
Murhaya was looking at the handsome couple in front of her, a welcome change from the children she normally instructed. They were dressed in the silky robes of the hotel, which clung to their bodies showing their exquisite forms.
The male was half-a -head taller than the female, who was slightly taller than Murhaya. The both had light-brown hair, the woman's reaching down almost to the middle of her back. But it was their eyes that caught Murhaya's attention. Their eyes were the deepest of blues and carried their intelligence in them.
Two Cats were riding the shoulders of the pair and by how comfortable they were with their bond mates, that meant they likely had a young child that has a new Cat. Murhaya couldn't understand why they had asked for her as the parents should be able to instruct their child all about taking care of Cats...
Junelliea came out of the bedroom, still naked, stopping abruptly and covering her breasts and groin when she saw the new person. Murhaya just laughed.
"You need not be shy, I'm an empath too, as proof by my Cat Michael," she said with a smile.
"You named your Cat, Michael?" Hanalei asked, her own Cat sitting up on her shoulder, glowering at Michael when she mentioned him by name.
"You should be aware that we are not empaths," Fayad told her.
Murhaya giggled. "Of course you are, you have Cats bonded to you," she replied with a smile. All three Cats looked at her like she was some kind of simpleton, startling Murhaya and Michael.
"They bonded to Junelliea, they simply tolerate us because we are her Trine," Hanalei explained.
"Trine?" Murhaya asked, confused.
"We are from Planet Anuura, where plural marriages are permitted," Fayad explained. We are a married Trine. Junelliea is our empath."
"That's not possible," Murhaya stated, emphatically. "No Cat ever bonds with a non-empath!"
Junelliea suddenly dropped her hands and moved angrily into the center of the room. Murhaya watched frightened as Junelliea's cat moved from her shoulder to the top of her head, her rear feet locked into her hair, her upper body raised over Junelliea, spread out like a cobra. It was a dominance display that Murhaya had only rarely witnessed before. Not only that, but the other two cats had adopted the same pose.
Murhaya could feel Michael reacting to the display, suddenly getting frightened on her shoulder. One cat would not have frightened him and likely would have provoked his own dominance display, as he was a much older cat. However, three cats simultaneously doing such a display shocked not only Michael but Murhaya as well.
But Junelliea wasn't finished. While the Trine's cats reacted to her anger, Junelliea had been gathering her center, her calm. She held it together then pushed it with strength at Murhaya, who suddenly found herself forced back into the door as if she had been flung there by a strong wind!
Michael launched himself with a powerful jump up into the air and spread his cape wide to catch the air as he swooped around the room and flew towards Junelliea, obviously angry at the attack on his mistress. Junelliea raised a finger at him and pointed back at his empath. Michael reacted with alarm at the power of her persuasion, rushing back to cower behind Murhaya, just peaking his head out to see what was happening.
Murhaya had never felt such levels of power before. It shocked her to her core. Worse, Michael, her Michael, the master cat of the Grand Congress of Empaths. The cat that could control all other guest cats, was hiding behind her head!
"I am tired of people telling us what is impossible, when we are blatantly doing otherwise," Junelliea snapped.
Murhaya took in the very beautiful, very naked, very powerful empath that stood before her. She went to one knee and bowed her head, Michael slipping onto the ground in front of her, adopting a submissive pose of his own in front of her, shocking Murhaya once again.
"Rise," Junelliea snapped. "Why is she here?" she demanded.
"She is the expert on Cats, apparently. At least the one the hotel sent to us." Fayad explained.
"Really?" Junelliea asked in a scathing manner. "This is the expert on our Cats?"
"Behave, Junelliea," Hanalei admonished. "We need her advice on how best to care for our new friends."
Junelliea's mood suddenly changed, and the Trine's cats relaxed, returning to their shoulders. Hanalei slipped into the bedroom and returned with a long robe that she helped Junelliea into.
"Show off," was all she said to Junelliea, a smile on her lips as Junelliea blushed.
"I think you mean 'exhibitionist'," Fayad stated, helpfully, bringing more of a blush from Junelliea.
Murhaya watched the exchange and realised how comfortable these people were with each other, and even how comfortable the cats were with them. Fayad stepped over to her, reached down and took her hand, pulling her to her feet.
"We are not royalty, Murhaya," he told her with a smile that literally melted her heart. "You need not kneel before us."
The Trine came to stand beside each other, arms wrapped around their waists. The cats began to fidget on their shoulders until Junelliea raised a finger, when they suddenly settled onto their respective bond mates shoulders. Murhaya had never seen such a response before but then, she had never felt such power before either.
"How long ago did you bond with them?" Murhaya asked, puzzled by the display. This was something that occurred only with bond relationships that have had some time together.
"We were introduced last night at the ball when they jumped on Junelliea," Hanalei explained. "She got mad at them for their squabbling and they settled their tiff and chose each of us."
"Wait? Introduced?" Murhaya asked, confused yet again.
"Junelliea has just developed her powers, we are here to find someone who can train her," Fayad clarified.
"Wait? What? You are untrained!?" Murhaya almost screeched.
There was a knock at the side door between rooms which opened to allow several women to enter.
"Silliya!" Murhaya called out and rushed into her arms.
The two giggled like schoolgirls as they hugged Michael jumping up and flying around the pair to land on one or the other then jump up again, bringing confusion to all those in the room.
"Murhaya was in my Crush," Silliya told the assembled group.
"She was also there when Michael bonded with me," Murhaya offered by way of her side of the explanation.
