"Hey Sarah how are you?" Cody asked as he laid down and lowered his head so he was eye level with her.

"Good and from what I've been told I'll be better as time goes on," Sarah said as she pointed to Beatrice.

"You'll get better?" Cody asked, twisting his head to the side slightly.

"Hello Sir," Beatrice said, stepping closer and asked Sarah, "May I explain?"

"Please do, I won't be able to do it as well as you," Sarah replied.

"I'll start from the beginning, When those with dragon bloodlines have children with non draconic species there can be some minor changes or big changes depending on the purity of the children. Your mother for example was a dragonewt, She looked like one but couldn't breath fire while pregnant with Kevin she gained the ability to breath fire," Beatrice explained as she twisted herself sideways and gestured to her draconic lower half.

"I myself was a normal centaur, after having twins I had a slightly painful transformation into a dragontaur," Beatrice explained then looked up at cody and said, "But seeing as your a pureblood we can't even begin to guess what changes you'll bring out in your partners."

Cody looked at Sarah and then down as he thought a bit, after a few moments he looked at Beatrice and asked, "So because I'm a pure blood dragon I'll change everyone I sleep with into some kind of dragon, doesn't that mean I have to explain what will happen after being with me?"

Beatrice looked nervous as Cody asked his question, before she could respond Sarah spoke up, "Cody before I even met you I was told while growing up that if I met any of the big families that I could evolve or become something else entirely if I stayed with them, I don't know about every race but from I heard all of them are told the same thing while growing up and that they should be ready for it."

"Son I was told the same when I was little and if you're afraid of changing people tell them what you are and let them decide, most will say yes because it's seen as an honor to be chosen," Mina explained, helping to ease Cody's thoughts.

"What about you Sarah? You seemed pretty shocked about becoming pregnant," Cody asked her.

"At first I was scared and nervous but after meeting everyone I have I feel safe and protected, I did consider other options but I won't choose any of them," Sarah said determined while looking into Cody's eyes, "The changes are just another part of this and I'm not scared of them, nervous yes but not scared."

"I understand and won't ask again," Cody said as Sarah relaxed, Before anyone could say anything Cody felt a tug on his wings.

Cody looked back and saw an older man smirking, "Greetings youngblood, have you flown yet?" He asked Cody.

"Not really why?" Cody asked him.

"I pride myself on teaching everyone to fly, I've taught just about everyone here and was wondering if you would like some lessons so you don't embarrass yourself when you try yourself." The old man said teasingly as his wings snapped open and started to hover nearby.

"I won't embarrass myself trying to fly," Cody said defensively.

"HA, everyone says that at the start but they do, your grandpa's brother once flew into a wall trying to impress everyone with his wings," He said, holding his hands out towards Jeromy, Jeralds brother, causing some of the people to laugh.

Jeromy blushed and said, "Yes, laugh it up everyone," He said as he looked away smiling.

Cody looked at the old man hovering nearby and asked, "So how will you teach me there's not enough room here,"

The old man simply smiled and flew to the top of the cave wall and disappeared over the edge, "Come up here and find out," He yelled over the edge.

Cody stood and slowly spread his wings but stopped when he almost knocked over nearby decorations, so he turned and started to climb the rock face using the cave entrances as footholds, as Cody climbed many people with wings flew up, others climbed up.

Cody stopped as he climbed over the edge and stared in wonder at the vast shallow lake filled with many crystals and smooth stones, with a visible current that resembled the aurora borealis, "What is this place?" Cody asked.

"The lake of peace, it's for people to come and relax mainly, you can swim, fly and do various things here to help relax," The old man said as he went to land and the crystals rose to meet his feet keeping him dry. As others landed or came over the edge the crystals lifted to meet them.

"Now before I start my lessons my name is Alexander, I will give you the basics of flight until you start to do it instinctively," Alexander said as he held out his wings and asked, "Please hold them out."

Cody did the same with his wings as everyone took a few steps away from Cody to give him room.

"Now that their flat I want you to pay attention to mine," Alexander slowly raised his wings at an angle with the front higher than the back.

Cody tried to copy his movement but kept his wings flat.

"Not like that, at an angle," Alexander said as he showed Cody again.

Cody grumbled and after a few attempts finally did the right angle, "I did it," Cody said, sounding proud.

"Good now you will be able to glide without going face first into the ground. In order to take off copy this movement, slow up hard down," Alexander said as his wings pulled inwards lifting up slowly then fully extended and came down hard causing him to lift off the ground slightly.

"Why teach me to glide first when I haven't even taken off?" Cody asked as he tried to and failed to gain lift.

"Not hard enough down force, and because I would rather you not crash after taking off," Alexander said to Cody as he showed the same movement again.

"That's fair," Cody said as he copied the movement and felt himself raise slightly, Cody did it again this time raising himself slowly.

"Harder with the downward force for higher elevation and slow the pace if you want to land," Alexander told Cody who was smiling widely.

Cody listened and added force pushing himself higher until he was a few meters above the water level, Cody then slowed the pace and gently landed, "That was fun, what's next?" Cody asked excitedly.

"Take off and hover for thirty seconds and once you do that I'll show you how to move forward from a hover position," Alexander told Cody as he started to hover.

Cody started to rise into the air, once he was level with Alexander he started to count, "There are two ways to move forward from a hover position, first lean forward and hold your wings out, second when you press downwards angle your wings further and not flat. That will push you forward."

Once Cody finished his counting he leaned forward and quickly fell into a glide, Alexander moved out of his way and started to follow him easily keeping pace, "There you go,now remember what I told you before," Alexander said as he watched the large dragon slowly glide.

Cody listened to what Alexander said as he glided while trying to suppress giggles of excitement, Cody looked forward and smirked. He started to flap his wings faster and harder, lifting and speeding up, after a few moments Alexander and the others slowed and hovered, unable to keep up.

Cody started to laugh out loud as he flew around, He started to turn around and once he was going back to everyone he looked up and tried to do a flip and succeeded whooping in joy, next Cody tried to do a barrel roll and yelled as he quickly fell the stones sunk further letting the water cushion Cody's fall which in turn splashed some of the spectators.

Cody pushed his head above the water and looked around in annoyance as some of the people were laughing while others tried to suppress themselves, Alexander hovered close by with his pants noticeably wet, "Don't worry Cody no one has a perfect flight the first time," Alexander said as cody stood and walked into the shallower area.

Cody shook himself a bit causing everyone to stop laughing and move away to avoid the water coming off of him, "I tried to roll, I don't understand how I crashed," Cody said to Alexander.

"When you tried to roll did you pull your wings in or did you shift their angle?" Alexander asked Cody.

"I pulled them in," Cody responded as he looked at Alexander.

"That's why you fell, you tucked in your wings when you needed to shift the angle," Alexander explained as Cody sighed.

"Note to self shift not tuck when flying," Cody said to himself.

"Unless you're diving then you tuck for extra speed, When you have time watch a movie or two about birds and pay attention to how they fly, particularly falcons and eagles," Alexander said as Cody started to grimace.

"Got it," Cody grunted as he lowered his head in pain.

"I think he's changing back into his human form," one of the spectators said as Cody roared in pain while his form started to shrink.

After a lot of screaming Cody laid on the stone floor that rose above the water during his change, Cody raised his head and looked around and grumbled as he tried to stand.

"Stay down," A small winged woman said as she draped a small blanket over his shoulders, "Let yourself adjust first," She said as Cody nodded and stayed seated.

Cody lifted his head and noticed almost everyone had gone back, "Thank you for the blanket," Cody said as she looked down and grumbled, "Wish my clothes were not destroyed."

"Here son," Mina said, handing Cody a pair of shorts, "I thought you might need these so I took them from the medicine cave.

"Thanks Mom," Cody said as he slipped them on and then handed back the blanket to the nearby woman who draped it over her shoulders. She nodded and took flight going back to the common grounds.

"Want us to fly you back?" Mina asked Cody as Alexander landed beside her, the rest of the spectators flew back once they knew Cody was fine.

Cody was busy opening and closing his hands feeling energetic, he looked down and noticed that he now had visible muscles rather than a flat stomach and pudgy legs.

"No, I feel different, I'm going to run back. I want to see just how different I am," Cody said as he stepped away and started to bounce on his feet trying to adjust to his new physique.

"Ok we will go on ahead then," Alexander said while Mina took off and flew back as well.

Cody looked in the direction they flew and waited thirty seconds then he started to jog back, then started a light run and slowly built up into a full sprint, as he started to catch up to his Mother and Alexander cody jumped going six feet up and fifteen feet forward passing the two flyers who looked surprised then sped up.

Cody smiled as he ran at full speed catching up to the spectators who started to land in the common area, Cody surprised them when he slowed down laughing near the edge which dropped into the common area.

"I feel like I can run around the world," Cody said loudly, laughing happily.

Cody looked down and started to climb down as Alexander and Mina caught up and hovered in front of him, "If you chose to run around the world please be careful," Mina said as she landed just before Cody finished climbing down.

"I will mom," Cody said as his Dad Amell came up and slapped his back.

"How was your first flight?" Amell asked, smiling.

"Great other than the swan dive I took before changing back," Cody said sarcastically.

"I heard and it's ok son, no one has a perfect flight the first time," Amell said as Cody started to walk towards Sarah.

Someone walked up and handed Cody a shirt and slippers, "Thank you," Cody said to them then turned to his dad and asked, "So what now? Other than being hungry there isn't much I can do now."

"I'll explain some things to you that need to be said, speaking of hunger please tell the house that we will need an extra large lunch," Amell said to one of the servants nearby who bowed and quickly moved to the exit.

"Like what?" Cody asked as Sarah slithered close by.

"The organization called The Hunters, for one," When Amell said that almost everyone groaned in annoyance or anger.

"Guessing they're annoying?" Cody asked as Sarah, Amell and Mina started walking with him towards the exit.

"They're the true monsters," Sarah said as they passed through the portal and into the garden.

"She's not wrong honey," Mina said as Amell led everyone to the house.

"How so?" Cody asked.

"Let me begin with their origins," Amell said as they neared the house, "The Hunters started out as a branch of the church, they led the templars into wars and pillaging under the guise of holy missions. In truth they used their actions as cover to hunt, capture, study and kill demis, back then our family was powerful enough to keep them at bay same with others." Amell explained as the doors were opened by two servants.

"Once they discovered magic they separated from the church, the Church realised they were used and started to retaliate but that's common history. What happened was that the church was suppressed by them and they started hunting demis in earnest, unfortunately the insect royal lines where pretty much wiped out by them forcing the rest to go underground and the other families to blend in with humans," Amell explained as they walked through the halls that were decorated with antiques and paintings of past family members.

"So there was a group that grew under the church's wing and eventually outgrew them and became their own force. If they're so dangerous, why not destroy them?" Cody asked as they entered a large dining hall where food was being brought out by various servants.

"Yes but no we can't, we have tried in the past but humans have and always will outnumber demis. It doesn't help that some demi races need humans as well," Amell said as Suzy and Ava came in.

Suzy slithered over to Cody and gave him a hug, then pulled back and gave him various looks, Ava sat down beside Mina and started eating while watching Suzy.

"Really?" Cody said as he turned to Ava and asked, "Did you really show her videos of male dancers doing lap dances?"

Ava choked on her food and started coughing as Mina looked at her in surprise and Amell shook his head, "Suzy! Why did you tell him that?" Ava said after recovering from her shock.

Suzy shrugged and bundled up at a spot where a maid was standing, Suzy started to take mouthfuls of food.

"Ava we told you that you don't need to watch that kinda stuff, I would hope you don't show it off next time," Amell said in annoyance.

"Sorry dad," Ava said half heartedly.

"Now as we were saying, there have been wars in the past but demis have always suffered more in the long run then humans. Even today they commit atrocities but can't be stopped due to their power and influence," Amell explained as he cut some food and popped it into his mouth after speaking.

"I can understand that, but look at society now if we tried to do something I think it would go better since people want demi humans or monster girls to be real," Cody said as he finished his plate and quickly reached around the table grabbing seconds.

"That doesn't matter, humans will always fear things that aren't human," Amell said but then spit out his food and started coughing loudly.

Ava put her phone away after showing her dad some random images of monster girl porn, "Dad you clearly underestimate the power of porn, I see Cody's point if we come out slowly and carefully a lot of people will flock to our protection," Ava said as she sat down and continued eating.

"That's fine and all but what about the hunters, they can make many claims and use their power to justify themselves," Mina said as she finished her plate and signaled for it to be taken.

"Then we show the masses what they do in private, who do you think they'll back? The monsters that don't look human or the humans who act like monsters," Sarah said as she listened to them talk, "I've heard the horror stories and seen some of the survivors that escaped, no one will blame them and many might try to protect them," Sarah explained as she put some more food on her plate.

"I know I started this but it was going to be a warning not to show off or reveal yourself to everyone you meet, I wanted to tell you to be careful about everyone unless they know about demi humans or are one," Amell said as he signaled for his plate to be taken, "I don't know how it turned into trying to reveal ourselves to the world," Amell finished as he sat back.

"Because until this point I hoped that they would be real," Cody said blushing slightly while looking at Sarah, "And now that I know they are I'm surprised their not coming out and fighting for their rights like many other groups," Cody said as he finished his second plate and looked at the food around him then sighed and made a third plate.

While Cody made a third plate Ava spoke up and said, "Brothers right we could start coming out publicly and when the hunters attack us people will see and probably side with us. For example more then half of my classmates have come out recently as gay, Bi and or trans," Ava finished as she also signaled for her plate to be taken.

"Dear the kids are right, things are changing quickly and the humans are evolving. Maybe it is time to reveal ourselves, maybe that's why Cody is a pure blooded dragon. To protect and encourage everyone else," Mina said as she listens to everyone speak.

Suzy hissed loudly and then in a changing pattern, Sarah nodded and rested her hand on Cody's shoulder and said, "let me translate for non serpent demis."

"Suzy asked, what about others like me who are completely animals on the outside," Sarah said as Suzy nodded and hissed thank you to her.

"From what I hear they are normally forced into Zoos or made into film animals by hunters and use the money to fund their projects, others return to their natural Habitat by choice and live their lives in the wild," Amell said as Sarah nodded.

"Other times they live in their community and stay there where it's familiar," Sarah added as she finished her second plate and looked over at a maid who walked up and took them into the kitchen.

"So dad I'm guessing you want me to stay quiet and try to blend in?" Cody asked as he finished his third plate and grumbled in annoyance and made a fourth.

"Preferably but knowing you, you're going to do something crazy and hope for the best aren't you," Amell said as a maid walked over to Suzy and took her empty plate.

"No but the only way I can get stronger is by practicing and mastering my powers. I can't do that if I have to stay quiet," Cody said as he finally felt full and signaled for a maid.

"Since you want me to be quiet can I ask for one favor?" Cody asked as he handed the nearly empty plate to a maid.

"Depends on the favor, you know the family rules," Amell said as he stood up and walked over to a small table and pulled out a cigar.

"I know, I'm looking into purchasing the old factory and warehouse by the unused docks. Can you introduce me to a good security firm so I can get something I know is good, it'll be hard to get quality by myself," Cody asked as Amell listened and looked back.

"You're talking about the one that burned up fifty years ago?" Amell asked.

"Ya my current place is getting cramped and I'm being forced to send rescues elsewhere, plus I can expand the shop and vet clinic while I'm at it," Cody explained to everyone around.

After a few moments Amell looked at Mina and asked, "Five stars is what I would like to give but since it's building only maybe three?"

Mina thought for a second and responded, "three should be good and give a chance to hire a couple of men for constant security after, Cody won't need it for anything else after all."

"What are you talking about mom and dad?," Cody asked.

"You must have heard about Galaxy Diamond Security right?" Amell asked Cody.

"Yes I have, why?" Cody asked as Suzy and Ava both left to go hangout.
