Accidental Revelations

Cody was dreaming about riding a giant flying snake like dragon, as the dragon went to roar an alarm noise blasted forward instead, Cody fell off the dragon and plummeted to the ground as the alarm continued to pierce the veil between reality and dreams, Cody lifted his head and reached for his phone recognizing the ring tone for the rescues.

"Yes?" He said groggily.

"Hey, sorry to wake you Cody but we have a strange one here, found it in the dumpster and it's acting strange, I've never seen this behavior in a snake before," the female voice said sounding confused, in the background was a keening, hissing sound.

"I've never heard that sound before, I'll be there shortly," Cody said as he sat up and reached over and grabbed his shirt.

"Well here's the thing, we can't tell if it's an anaconda or boa it has a mix of both in the head with patterns along the body, it's black spots and purple base but the weirdest thing is that it's acting like a baby rather than a snake, that wailing in the background is the snake the other girls holding it like a baby and it's stuck to her while trying to suckle, what do we do?" The girl said, sounding panicked as the wailing started to calm down.

"I need to see this, give me ten minutes I'll be there shortly," Cody said as he rushed to the elevator from his corner of his penthouse, As he waited while the numbers counted down from three to B1 he walked out to the large van with various snake decals and the large words across the side saying, 'state snake sanctuary'.

As Cody drove out of the basement garage and turned onto the road he took a sip of the cold coffee and grimaced while grunting in displeasure.

After fifteen minutes of fast driving he stopped at the local rescue and ran to the back door, as he entered he heard the dogs bark and some of the cats yowling, he ignored them as he passed by and went to the medical room where the hissing originated from.

As Cody turned the corner he stopped in his tracks and stared in shock as he spotted the snake with the patterns and features of both a boa constrictor and anaconda with black on purple patterns suckling from a bottle while being held like a baby and whimpering loudly, "That's the snake? It looks like a science project," Cody said as he got closer to the worker holding the snake.

"If that's the case they had to have added some human DNA to it, it's acting similar to a baby," the worker said as she pulled the now empty bottle away from the snake, "Here Cody," she said, handing the purple reptile to him.

"Hello beautiful little," Cody paused as he looked at the worker, she whispered "girl," in response to him, "girl aren't you a cute thing, come here," Cody said as he held out his hands to her.

As the snake came forward and started to wrap around him, the snake then moved along his arms and hands making some kind of purr like hiss, "She likes me, well I'll head out now I've got everything at home for this little girl," Cody said as he walked out and went to the van with one rescue vet following behind him.

"Thanks again Cody, I might stop by later to see how she's doing if that's ok," The nurse asked him as she opened the door.

"Sure you know you and everyone here is welcome to visit the sanctuary any time," Cody replied as he closed the door and started the engine while the purple serpent rested her head in the crook of his neck.

"Yup but it's still polite to mention it first," she responded as she waved and closed the back door.

Cody started the van and started to drive home while the snake on his shoulders slept. When he arrived and parked in the garage he went up in the elevator and stopped at the second floor. Cody walked into the darkness as he turned on the lights revealing hundreds of tanks of varying sizes, widths and height.

As he approached a large empty terrarium and started to put the snake into the tank it let out a whimpering like hiss, every snake within ear shot began to loudly hiss towards Cody he looked around in shock at all of the sudden aggression aimed towards him even after all the time together only a few of his serpents where actively aggressive towards him still, the main reason was him being male as those aggressive ones where calm and gentle with the female volunteers.

Cody pulled the purple serpent back to his chest, as the whimpering died down so did the aggression from all the serpents, "Well this is new," Cody mumbled as he looked down at the snake in his arms, "I'm guessing your something special than," Cody said to the snake as he entered the elevator and went up to his penthouse.

As he left the elevator he turned on the lights to his apartment and stepped onto the black mat, he rubbed his shoes on it out of habit and started toward the kitchen area that was at the back left of the open apartment, "Guess I should name you," Cody paused at the counter and looked down, "how about Suzy?"

The snake looked up at Cody and smiled while hissing happily, Cody laughed lightly as he put together a few bottles for Suzy, Suzy noticed this and opened her mouth for the first one.

Four years later.

While watching tv, Cody was surprised when the channel changed then the TV turned off Cody looked around as various things started happening on the TV and spotted Suzy playing with the remote using her tail to press buttons, the random acts started to slow down as Suzy realised what each button did and to Cody's amazement Suzy stopped flipping channels when it landed on a child's cartoon.

As Cody watched Suzy stare at the TV in fascination he realised that his so called 'pet' was smarter than any other snake he owned or met, Cody got up and left Suzy to watch her TV show as he started his nightly chores on the second floor.

After a couple of hours of feeding and handling some of the snakes Cody walked into a small mess on the floor by Suzy, but before Cody could get mad at the mess he stopped and stared in awe at the coffee on the tiled floor spelling out the alphabet as Suzy stared at the TV writing the last few letters following the shows instructions, Cody smiled as he decided to try and teach Suzy.

Five years later.

After discovering Suzy's apparent intelligence Cody spent years catching up on his lessons from school, After five years Suzy learned a grade twelve course with some difficulty in english, history and sciences but excellent skills in Math, geography and calculus.

In the morning when Suzy came out of her freshly built room in the front left corner of the apartment while the right had been built for Cody's room, Suzy lazily slithered out from her swinging door and after 17 feet the door finally closed Cody presented her a cake and a present, "Happy birthday my little girl," Cody said as Suzy raised her head and looked at the small cake in the shape of a nine Suzy looked at Cody and smiled while hinting at her annoyance to the type of cake, "Well I'm sorry they couldn't do a meat cake, at least it's chocolate," Cody said laughing.

Suzy shook her head and smiled as she started to take bites out of it, "Hey, at least let me get my portion first you little bugger," Cody said as he quickly started to cut himself a large piece.

"Here you go hun," Cody said as he handed Suzy a wrapped package after eating the cake, "I think you'll love this, I've got it customized for you," he said as Suzy began to rip the wrapping apart with her tail while looking excited and happy Cody could see it in her facial expression that she was ecstatic with her new laptop Suzy rushed to Cody and wrapped him twice in coils and hugged tightly, Cody tapped her sides, "Your welcome, your welcome but please ease up," he struggled to say.

Suzy let go as she gently picked up her new laptop and rushed to her bedroom, cody followed her as she rushed to her desk which was in the corner near the window and to the back left Suzy's king size bed dominated the right side of the room where a few heavy blankets where tossed around, at the end of her bed was a large upside down horseshoe like piece of metal that was used to help shed her skin and beside the desk was a large flat ceramic disk with a heat lamp above it which was currently turned off.

As Suzy turned on the laptop and vibrated with impatience Cody plugged in the charger cord and ethernet cable into the laptop, when it started up Cody helped Suzy set up her laptop after an hour of explaining the changes made for her, Suzy was scrolling through the internet looking up various things to read or watch.

Eight years later.

As Cody entered his favorite bar he looked around seeing a few new faces to the usual crowd, as he got close he called out to the bartender, "Hey Minos, Been some time since I was last here you remember my usual?" Cody asked over the noise of the crowd.

"Easy to remember," Minos laughed, then said in a nostalgic tone, "it's been awhile since I've seen you, what happened to you to keep you so busy?" Minos asked as he handed Cody his drink.

"Thanks, normal stuff rescuing snakes and such but one special one about twenty years ago, turned out to give me a daughter," Cody said as he sat down.

Minos stared in shock, "You of all people have a daughter now? How'd the hell that happen," He asked as he poured another drink for a customer down the line.

"Let's just say one of my rescues came with a bonus I wasn't expecting," Cody responded as he started to sip his jack and ginger, as Cody looked around he noticed a lot of new faces and what surprised him was most of them looked like college kids, "Since when did this become a college bar?" Cody asked while spotting the old faces he remembered.

"About ten years ago, a group came in and word spread that we were a 'safe space' bar, so we now get a lot more new faces hearing about us I don't mind but some of the old bikers do and don't, so long as their left alone they'll leave them alone," Minos said as he gestured to the local biker club in the back.

"I figured they tend to be distant with new faces, how about you, any big changes for you?" Cody asked as a group of women noticed Cody and started to talk about him quietly.

"Not much, some of the new girls seem to think that sleeping with me gets them free booze, I let them hit on me but none of them succeed," Minos said as he started to laugh loudly while Cody also laughed.

As Minos was speaking a girl wearing a short tight leather skirt and a loose and revealing button up shirt sauntered over to Cody, before Cody could respond she brushed her shoulders against him, "Hey cutie, what's your name? Mines Sarah," Sarah said flirtily to Cody.

Cody looked at her then at Minos Cody gestures towards her making a thumbs up then a thumbs down at Minos, Minos nodded while hiding a thumbs up then turned around and walked to the other side of the bar, Cody looked at Sarah and smiled, "Hope you like snakes," Cody said as he showed his patch on his work jacket to her.

Sarah laughed and nodded, "I love snakes, more than you'd think," Sarah replied as she smiled and nudged her hips into Cody's side, "Let me guess you have a large collection and like to show them off? Mind showing me your collection then?" Sarah said as she leaned over and bumped her hip playfully into Cody's side.

"Sure, I hope you don't mind walking," Cody said as he paid his tab and finished his drink. He stood up as Sarah made her way to the door, Cody noticed her friends looking at him with a look of longing which surprised him.

As they walked to Cody's building they started to have a light chat, "So what makes you want to come with me? For all you know I'm some dangerous stranger that will never let you leave my basement," Cody said sarcastically.

"If I hadn't already asked around and got to know you from your reputation I wouldn't have bothered plus I can handle myself if I need to," Sarah said seriously as she grabbed onto Cody's arm and playfully bumped her hips into his, "Your so warm, ugh I hate the fall and winter, why can't summer just be all year," Sarah said playfully as the cool autumn wind blew through her clothes.

"I see and I like the cold. It feels nice after all that heat, plus my building is always hot," Cody replied as he took off his jacket and offered it to Sarah.

Sarah looked surprised and gave Cody a genuine smile as she accepted his jacket and bundled up in it, "Thank you, here I thought all forms of manners were gone," Sarah giggled as she leaned into Cody even more.

"Thank you," Cody said as his building came into view, "Get ready to meet with everyone," Cody said as they came to his front door.

"Well since you seem so set on it, maybe I will meet with all your little friends, and maybe your own little snake too," Sarah said as she ran her fingers over Cody's thigh playfully.

Cody smiled and pulled her by her hips and touched his nose to hers as they entered the first floor, "Maybe you'll get more than just my little snake, after all I can do a lot with my hands," Cody said flirtily as he led Sarah past the various vet stations and the reptile store.

"Oh you run a clinic and pet store, I didn't know that I thought you just collected them," Sarah said as she looked around and at the doors on the way to the elevator.

"Yup the clinic focuses on reptiles and exotic pets, same with the pet shop as for the rescues most of them are up stairs, down stairs has three special rescues or should I say retirees," Cody said as they entered the elevator.

"Mind if we visit the old timers then?" Sarah asked while looking thrilled at the prospect of seeing special snakes.

"Well, I was supposed to feed one today, so ya you can," Cody said as he hit the B1 button, after a few seconds the elevator opened to the garage, Cody walked past his car and the van to the solid door that had an 'employee only' sign on it.

After unlocking the door Cody held it open for Sarah who walked in quickly, there were three large thick windows made of plexiglass, "You can see them but be careful two of them are down here because their not friendly to most people and I've barely have their trust," Cody said as they walked by the first window, inside of it was a very large komodo dragon, it was laying in the sandy dirt beside a built in pool and nearby was a large bowl with various meats, "That's drake, he used to be in movies, but after he bit one star who wasn't being very smart mind you he was sent to a zoo, the zoo couldn't handle him very well so instead of putting him down they called me I feed him and clean his room and he lets me in some days and some days he doesn't, up next is behemoth," Cody said as he guided Sarah to the next window.

As they got closer they saw a monstrous sized boa constrictor, at sixteen feet long it was lounging in the five foot deep pool of fresh water, "This is Behemoth, he is a rescue from an owner who kept him in terrible condition, as he got bigger the owner got more annoyed and started to ignore his needs for his size he kept feeding him rabbits while growing so when I got him he was somewhat starved, after a few pigs he got better he's tolerant of people but not very nice if you let him he will coil you not to hurt you but keep you there till he gets bored, I got caught for two days by him thankfully my daughter got him off me she has a way with snakes, and finally we have Matilda," Cody said bringing Sarah to the final window and opening the door letting Sarah in.

As Sarah walked in with Cody behind her she heard the rustling of the bushes on the ground the squeaked in shock as a colossal anaconda slithered out towards her tongue flickering fast "Don't worry I'm not feeding you to her, she has a wonderful temperament but doesn't do well with many people," Cody said as Matilda coiled up and around them both with her twenty-eight foot long body, Cody started to pet her just below the head and kiss her nose, "Hey old girl, this is Sarah she likes snakes and wanted to meet you say hi," Cody told Matilda, Sarah looked surprised as the snake seemed to understand him, unknown to Cody Sarah reached out to Matilda with her mind,

*Hello elder, can you speak?*

Sarah asked while rubbing Matilda's belly.

Matilda tilted her head to the side and shook it slowly, Sarah guessed that Matilda was probably a generation or two down from a full animorph demi, "She is absolutely wonderful Cody, is she who you have to feed?" Sarah asked as Matilda uncoiled from around them.

"Yup, she gets three kunekune pigs every two months plus she should be shedding soon," Cody said as he rubbed around her head noticing a few loose pieces of skin, "I'm going to have to give her a scrubbing soon," Cody said as he stepped over her coils and walked to a small door and opened it, as he did so Matilda slithered away and hid herself in the foliage of the underbrush.

Sarah walked to the door and walked out as Cody crawled into the small opening and pushed three small pigs out, he then closed the small door and walked out of the pig pen and walked to the exit where Sarah was waiting and stepped into view of the window, they both watched as the pigs went to the pool and started to drink without a worry, within a blink of an eye Matilda lunged forward and caught one pig by the head, the other two ran Cody nudged Sarah and said "Let's let her eat in peace, come on there's a whole floor of snakes to visit now," Cody said as he led her to the elevator.

"That was a nice visit, I absolutely love Matilda, she's so kind and smart," Sarah said while stepping onto the second floor and looking around in shock at the sheer number of tanks filled with various snakes, "Wow I really did underestimate your collection, how many are there here?" Sarah asked Cody while walking by tanks and looking in them to see the various Vipers, Cobras, and Mambas.

"Over three hundred and fifty snakes in the back behind that wall are the disabled snakes, those guys are blind, missing jaws, broken spines and other various wounds I usually get a few volunteers to help feed them," Cody said as he opened the curtain, Sarah stopped in front of the large standing tank where a large boa constrictor was laying on a branch with his eyes clearly missing.

"I'm amazed you would even take care of them, most people kill them or put them down at this point," Sarah said, sounding truly inspired by Cody's devotion to the snakes, "Also where did all the venomous ones come from, some of these species are pretty exotic," Sarah asked looking back at a hooded cobra.

"Thank you, but I don't do it for me I do it for them, and I get them from stupid people who think they're pets, since I can't rehome them I keep them and sometimes milk them, or let students and such come look at them," Cody explained as he grabbed her by the hips and pulled her back.

"Come on, let them sleep," Cody said as he escorted her to the elevator. What Cody failed to notice was that every snake that saw Sarah watched her until she left their line of sight.

As they left the elevator Sarah looked at Cody and gently pulled him down and kissed him until the elevator opened up, Cody let her out and pointed to his room, "My room? or do you want to get cleaned up first?" Cody said pointing to the walled off bathroom section.

"Shower first, I'll get cleaned up while you get ready?" Sarah said as she slowly stripped off her clothes while walking to the bathroom making sure that Cody couldn't see anything but her ass and side boobs.

"You're a damn good tease," Cody responded as his pants started to tent, he turned and walked to his room where he took off everything but his pants," Cody walked back out and sat down to wait for her.

Suzy came out of the room looking tired and looked at the shower then at Cody, Cody saw the question in her serpentine features, he then sighed and shook his head lightly, "Shouldn't you be asleep?" Cody asked Suzy.
