A Comet's Tail Ch Eleven

New Beginnings

Lilly's due date was fast approaching. Joe refused to have sex with her. Liz told them it would be okay if they were careful, but he was nervous. He would only service her with his mouth and let her do the same. The sight of her on her knees with that broad behind and her huge belly showing beneath her pussy made him crazy. He would work on her while she squirmed and moaned until she was satisfied. She would then take care of him.

The other pregnancies were proceeding nicely. By the end of the summer, they would have several babies in the house. The next generation was coming.

Joe went for Liz during the first week of May. Liz and Presilla brought their bag and hot water with towels. A couple of hours later, Mary Elizabeth Scwartz was born. At 6 lbs., 4 oz. she was normal and healthy. Mother and daughter rested for a day before Liz allowed anyone to go and see the baby.

They had the first of the future here. More were coming. Rick knew he would need some long-term planning.

He called Susan, Ray, Doug, and Mary to meet with him.

"It is time for long-term planning. We have survived the first year and an assault on us. I don't believe we will see anymore people like us in the future. We have to know that our gas and electricity will eventually run out. The second solar generator means we should be able to have electricity for ten, maybe twenty years. However, our children will have to fend for themselves without electricity if we can't find a way to generate electricity naturally. Our crops look good, and we can produce enough food for ourselves and the animals. The well should be deep enough to provide water into the future."

Everyone nodded agreement. Now for the hard part. "Let's talk about the herd. Our entire plan had been for them to just die out naturally. However, our next generation may need the horsepower of a second generation of the herd. I want your thoughts."

Everyone started talking at once and he let them. This was a radical change, and they needed time to consider it. "I have other thoughts, but why don't we stop right here for now, and you can think about it, and we will get together tomorrow?"

Susan stayed behind as everyone else left. "Are you serious? You want the bulls to fuck the new ones?"

"I am."

"That makes me uncomfortable."

"If that makes you uncomfortable, you are really not going to like my other idea."

"Don't tell me, you want our men to fuck them too?"

"We need to know if the mixing makes the children smarter."

"So, you want to fuck a little filly?"

"Are you kidding? I can barely keep up with the two of you. I don't know if you have noticed, but the two of you are horny as hell since you became pregnant."

"Yes, but it will taper off as we get closer to our due dates. Don't worry, after we have had the babies, you'll wish you could fuck us again. We will be busy."

"I am thinking of using Abe and Juan for this assignment. I am sure none of you ladies would want your men trying out for stud of the month with the "young fillies" as you call them."

"That's not a bad idea, if we really need to know this."

"We can talk to Mary, Ray, and Liz about it first."

"Agreed." Susan got up and kissed him on the cheek as she left. "Get your rest. I may jump your bones tonight."

Everyone reconvened the next morning.

"Thoughts?"

Doug spoke up. "You know, there is a stream running down the middle of this valley. It's not large, but we might be able to dam it up enough get a flow strong enough to turn a turbine. We would have years to work on it, and if we could get it perfected, it would be a long-term solution."

"That is a real possibility. Anything else?"

Ray was next. "These valleys have several stands of trees. We could begin selectively cutting them down and chopping them into firewood. We won't need it now, but in a few years, it might be very necessary."

Bill had come in this morning. "We need to get rid of my helicopter. It is taking up space. There is a nice work area behind it. We would have a nice, protected work area."

"What do we do with it?"

"If I can get it started again, we could just fly it over by the other one. If not, we may have to take it apart. I don't know if the horses could pull it."

Rick stood up. "Okay, good ideas. I have one other thing I want you to think about. This is why I asked Ray here. We have always considered the herd as living out their years here. However, the future is going to be hard for our children. They will need every advantage they can. I am considering letting the bulls impregnate the new females. We can build a continuing herd into the future. I believe we can feed them, and we will need the extra manpower in the future. Thoughts?"

That set off a buzz of discussion. He just let them talk. Eventually, they stopped talking. "Ideas?"

Ray was first. "It can be done. We now have enough females and fertile bulls to accomplish this."

"I think we need to do this. However, we need to find a way to bulk them up. They need to be stronger. I don't have any idea how."

No one else spoke up, so Rick asked. "We good with this?"

Everyone nodded, so Rick moved on. "Here is a long-term plan. Doug, when you have time, begin surveying the stream and considering what we would need to dam it up and generate electricity. Ray, talk to Lawanda about how we are going to get the fillies pregnant. Bill, have Ray help and pull the chopper out. If you can get it running, we can take it to the town and leave it. If not, we will have to think of something else. Any questions?"

Rick asked Ray to hang back for a moment. When everyone else was gone, he spoke up. "I have another idea, but I didn't want to broach it now. I am wondering if one of our men bred one of the fillies, would the baby by any smarter?"

Ray just shook his head. "You like to keep pushing the envelope, don't you?"

"No, it's just that we need to know as much as we can. I could have Abe or Juan do it. None of our women are going to allow it, but they don't have anyone to stop them. At least, we would know."

Ray promised to talk to Lawanda and began planning.

They still had six women pregnant, with due dates from June to November. When Ray and Lawanda went to bed that night, Ray was going to talk about breeding the new females, but Lawanda had a different idea of "breeding".

"Ray, I want to talk to you. It seems the idea of the moment is babies. We haven't talked about this. What do you think about it?"

Ray had been thinking about it. "I've probably been thinking about it as much as you have. Do you want a baby?"

"I think I do."

"I am good with that. Let's get to it." He smiled and took her hand. They went into the bathroom and began stripping. When they were naked, they both got into the shower. They soaped each other up and leisurely washed each other. When finished, they dried each other off and headed to bed. Lawanda had a favorite position for sex. She liked everything, but the position that got her

the hottest was when she rode him while being on top. She liked looking down at him while she did the work. For some reason, that meant so much to her. He preferred the straight missionary position, but he knew how much she liked the other, so they usually got around to it at least once every time they fucked. On that night, she told him her body was not ready yet, but she climbed on top of him, and they enjoyed practicing.

She ovulated two days later, and they were ready to try. She told him he would have to come at her from the rear. That gave them the best chance to get the seed deep and hold it in. He gladly climbed her back and mounted her. She had to admit, the feeling of him dominating her as he "bred" her made her more receptive to this position. When they were finished, he stayed inside for as long as he could. She then rolled over and squeezed tight. They held each other until they fell asleep.

By the end of May, the crops were in the field and sprouting. This year they were able to use the human fertilizer they had been saving for a year. Time had killed the parasites, and Latisha had mixed it together.

Doug had been able to start one of the trucks. Bill attached it to the chopper, and they tried to pull it out. The chopper had been sitting for nearly a year, and it didn't want to move. The tires were flat. They had to get the mules to assist, but it finally broke free and slowly rolled out of the garage. Once it was clear, Bill began working on the motors to see if he could start them. He had to take them apart and clean them, but he finally was able to get them started. It was a good thing they had brought the extra parts and oil with them. Now they had to put the two blades they had taken off in order to get it into the garage back on. It took them a while to fix up a hoist that could lift them above the chopper, but after a couple of hours, they were attached.

They sent for Rick. "We are ready to try and start this thing."

"Have at it. Everyone stand back."

Bill climbed in and tried to start the engines. It took several tries, but eventually fired off. Rick told Jesus to follow Bill and leave it with the first one.

They were gone. They were back in a couple of hours. When they pulled in, Bill called out to Rick. "I got something for you."

Bill climbed out of the truck and showed Rick the back bed. There were plastic tubes stacked in the back. "I remembered that there were some of those health food powders in town. You said you wanted to bulk up our mules."

"Well. It was still where we left it, and it lasts forever. They can mix this into the mule's feed. It should help."

Rick laughed. These people never cease to amaze him. Give them a task, and they will find a way. "I guess we can make a couple of Sylvester Stallone's cousins."

June came with Emily ready to pop. She was bedridden and huge. Liz checked on her every few hours, and by June sixth, the call came. Liz and Prisilla were there. Prisilla herself was only a couple of weeks away, and Mary was there to help them both. A few hours later, Douglas Watson Davis Jr. was born. He was larger than Mary Schwartz. Doug was beaming like a new father should be. Mother and son were fine.

Two weeks later to the day, it was Prisilla's turn. Mary had studied during Emily's birth and was ready to help Liz. Juan Rodriguez De Luis was born in the early morning hours. It had been a more difficult delivery, but everything turned out fine in the end. Three down and four to go. The three mothers had a bassinette and crib in their rooms.

Lilly had been worried about breastfeeding. She knew nothing about it. Her mother had never even talked to her about sex, much less mothering. Liz tried to help her, and Joe had practiced sucking on her breasts before the baby was born. He wasn't very successful, and Lilly was worried she would not be able to feed her baby. She knew they didn't have a lot of good options if she wasn't able to breastfeed her baby.

She put the baby to her breast. The baby latched on by instinct and began sucking. To Lilly's relief, the milk flowed, and the baby was happy. Lilly was so happy, she cried as her baby suckled on her breasts. She felt like it was a religious experience. New life was there, and she was giving it sustenance. Joe sat watching them together. He was crying also, and didn't care. It was the happiest day of his life.

Emily and Prisilla had also worked on breastfeeding. Prisilla wasn't as worried because she had studied in nursing school about what happened. The body usually doesn't release the milk until it knows the baby needs it. Emily was breastfeeding within an hour of her baby being born. Priscilla was also able to begin. The babies had their milk, and everything was right with the world.

They were now at the end of June. Mandy and Amy were due in July. They asked Juan to make a couple more cribs and bassinettes.

Doug began cleaning out the back of the garage where the chopper had been. In the back was a workshop the ranch had used. It had farm tools there, and they had put the tools they took from the base and town in a pile there. Doug was now cataloging each and finding a place for them. They ended up with a nice workshop.

There were now only three women who had not gotten pregnant. Liz, Willie, and Lawanda. Latisha was too old, and they never considered it. Willie and Lawanda were trying. That left Liz.

She had never really considered it and would not mention it until Bill asked her about it. He had watched as the babies were being born, and he grew a little restless. He noticed Liz never mentioned it. She must not want one. He vowed to never ask her about it if she didn't bring it up herself.

His chance came after Prisilla's baby was born. They were getting ready for bed when Liz remarked, "Without Prisilla for a while, it is going to be hectic in the medical office."

"I'm sure that's right. Especially with all the other babies that are coming. You will be very busy."

Liz sat down on Bill's lap. "Tell me what's on your mind. I can tell."

Bill smiled at her and kissed her. "This last year has been the best year of my life. I love you more now than ever. I sometimes walk by the office just to look in and watch you work."

She hugged him and began crying. "You will never know what you have done for me and my life. I am sorry for the way the world turned out, but a part of me is happy, because it brought you to me."

They just sat there hugging each other for several minutes. She finally spoke. "You have never asked me about children. I have wondered it you wanted a baby."

"I did not ask you because you are so important to this community. If anything were to happen to you, it would be a disaster. I have been afraid that if I asked you to have a baby, you would agree. If anything then would have happened, I would never forgive myself the selfishness that took you from me and the community."

Liz sat up and looked into his eyes. "You mustn't think like that. This entire life is unknown. If we want a baby, we will try. We will leave the outcome to whatever God is out there."

They decided to think about it later and make love now.

Willie and Bobby were like rabbits after they had decided to have a baby. They didn't wait for her to come in "season". They were practicing every day. When her time did come, they left work early and decided to try at least twice that day and the next day.

She was so happy. Her entire life had been built around her career. She never considered anything else, and a child seemed like an unneeded obstacle. It made her smile as Bobby was working her over how much her attitude had changed. Here he was, trying so hard to get her pregnant, and she WANTED him to.

She let her mind float. She felt like it was not even attached to her body. It was as if she could watch the two of them making love from above. Her mind wandered into the future and what it would mean to have a little one that was completely dependent on her. Then, an unexpected thing happened. That thought brought her back to her body, and she exploded with an orgasm like she hadn't had since the first time Bobby had made love to her. When he finished, he fell over her in exhaustion. She lay there, smelling his hair and sweat. Satisfaction completely overwhelmed her, and she fell asleep right there.

Lawanda and Ray timed her season, and worked on their baby on the day before, of, and after. It took three months. She became pregnant in September.

They didn't ride the border as often as they used to. However, Bobby and Bill would go hunting often. They figured they could use some fresh meat, especially different fresh meat. Deer and bear would be great. The wildlife seemed to enjoy mankind not being around. They were flourishing. Bobby and Bill were able to bring in two deer and one bear in the early months of spring and summer.

They were able to wet cure the meat by putting it in a salty brine. This dried the meat out. It would last without refrigeration for months. They would also use the Native American method of drying it in strips in sunlight. It made jerky and would last a long time. Every time they had a kill, they would have a fresh feast and preserve the rest.

The crops were doing nicely. Whenever it didn't rain enough, the ladies took the females out with their water bags and watered the crops. The females knew what to do and seemed happy to be out doing something. They had put the older herd out in the pasture on the days they didn't put the others out. They would alternate so they all got sunlight and could romp in the fresh grass. The herd seemed contented now. They made noises and played with each other. The older herd would fuck each other often, and the females seemed to want it as much as the older males. Sometimes, they would chase an older male and try to corner them. It was fun for the crew to watch.

July was Mandy and Amy's time. Amy came first. She began early in the morning. Liz was with her. It was hard for her. She didn't deliver until almost dark. Z was frantic all day. He was sure something would happen to both her and the baby.

When Liz finally came out holding a beautiful baby girl, he collapsed on the floor. Rick had to pick him up. Marie Amanda Fareed was a healthy little girl. Amy was so tired; they let her sleep and watched the baby as it suckled on her breast.

Three weeks later, it was Mandy's turn. Everything went smoothly, and June Mandy Thompson was born as the sun came up. Only Susan and Mary were still waiting, and they wouldn't be until September.

Doug and Jesus took their free time to winterize the barn and garage. There were few holes, but they plugged them. The garage was smaller and tighter. They decided they could keep it warmer than the large barn. It would be tight, but the congestion would also keep them warmer. They built a fence down in the middle and stalls in the back. The plan was to not go through what they did last winter. Ray approved of the design and thought it would work.

They began harvesting in September. While in the field, Rick got a call from Liz. It was Susan's time.

He rushed to their room to find Liz and Mary there. Mary was big herself, but she insisted on helping Susan. Rick wanted to stay, but Liz told him to get out. They would do this and let him know.

Most of the women had decided on their own that the baby would have the father's name. They may not have had a ceremony, but they considered themselves as married as anyone.

Therefore, Richard Allen Core was born just before midnight. He was a large baby. They let Rick come in just as they were placing the baby on Susan's chest. She looked tired and sweaty but contented. Ric watched in fascination as Susan put the baby to her breast. The baby searched and then latched on tight. Susan groaned and closed her eyes. Rick had to leave. He was crying.

Mary saw him leave and followed him out. She grabbed him and they just hugged and cried. Mary whispered, "He's beautiful. He must take after Susan."

Rick laughed. "Thank God."

Willie and Bobby continued trying until they succeeded in September. Willie and Lawanda were both due in June.

Liz was now the only young woman who wasn't pregnant. Bill had told her he was content with her and being an uncle to nine kids. Liz cried a little, but thought it was for the best.
